9:18 I couldn’t agree more about holiday weekend beach visits! It’s terrible. I actually live in Beverly Hills and work on 2nd and Wilshire, in Santa Monica. Your videos are spot on! When did you graduate high school? I went to Culver and graduated in 96. Btw, the best time for the beach is on a Tuesday afternoon during January. It’s PERFECT!
I think Beverly Hills is way more overrated than DTLA. DTLA at least has plenty of activities for the average person (like grand central market, little Tokyo, the broad, ect.). Beverly Hills is a plastic soulless shopping mall of a neighborhood. DTLA is not the greatest neighborhood in LA, but it is an area I visit as a local for the variety of attractions it has to offer. It is true that LA is more than it’s downtown and there’s plenty to see beyond it, but I also think DTLA has more to offer than most other neighborhoods in LA.
I appreciate your perspective on this. I do agree that Beverly Hills can be overrated. DT Los Angeles is certainly growing in popularity and attracting more people to the city center; however, there has also been some recent struggles and stagnation with that as well. With Los Angeles being so sprawled out, I think many Los Angelinos don't make DTLA a destination.
