I love how he isn’t even trying to say something like "The devil disguised himself as god and tricked me" no straight up "God told me verbatim to run a crypto scam so I can remodel my house"
Dawg I've noticed ppl pretend they don't believe in the devil. Even the Satanist will gaslight you into believing they don't believe in Satan. I.E Doga Cat....Demoncrats will straight up tell you they believe in all the liberal nonsense men are women and vice versa, PDF is okay, porn in children's school is cool...then go to sleep at night ready to tell you those lies to your face all over again the next day. So best believe they will tell you the devil isn't real. That's the new strategy. Pretend the devil ain't real.
"The charges are that Kaitlyn and I pocketed $1.3M and I just want to come out and say that those charges are true." Gonna guess his faith doesn't involve listening to lawyers, because he's just publicly confessed.

I still remember one time going to church when I was 12 and using my first ever allowance to donate to the church I was going to for our youth group. I was super excited to put my money in and when they were doing the dinner service that night, they made an announcement saying that all the donations would be going to the pastor's daughter for her birthday instead. I was so extremely upset and I realized that they were probably pocketing every thing we donated. I stopped going to church after that.
this is so sad Rebecca 🥺 i definitely believe Matthew 18:6 applies to what they did to you. I hope you seek Jesus for who He is and not how ppl portray Him. Best 🤍
yeah similar thing happened to me and my family, it’s unfortunate that these people who are supposed to be using the money for further spreading the gospel are spending it for themselves.
@@gisel2115 This is the most tone def "Christian" response I could think of. Quoting a random verse to someone who clear had a bad experience at church as a child? How would they even understand what you're saying? You sound exactly like the smug religious pharisee this video/scam is all about. Wait,... maybe you're being sarcastic? Anyhow, I'm actually appalled as I do follow Jesus and work to build relationships of faith. But you and this crypto pastor exemplify everything wrong with American Christianity today and why no one who has any common sense wants to be part of the church.
How do you think a church pastor is rolling around in a Mercedes? With a giant house? It’s really not a mystery where those donations are really going.
Which is the problem with Protestantism. Anybody can become a pastor. In the Orthodox and Catholic Church, you need to study for years in order to be a priest making it would be a waste of time if you just wanted to scam people. Especially the Orthodox Church, where you have to be chosen by the bishop himself in order to become a priest and have that kind of authority. In Protestantism you could literally, as you’re doing now, question if the leader is even religious.
@@Sfbaytech that’s a hard question to give a reasonable RU-vid-comment length response to. I guess you could say it’s like the real Slim Shady except priest-version.
@@Sfbaytechsomeone officially ordained by the catholic church after studying theology and training for a few years. Protestant preachers are pastors, not priests, and their requirements are much lower.
Those comments prove that you just can't save everyone. To see someone straight up say, "we pocketed 1.3 M" and still have people pray for him, there's just no way to help these people see what they don't want to.

I like how in the beginning he admitted to taking $1.3 million, then said $500k went to the IRS and $200k for a home remodel… but never mentioned where the other $600k went? Did the Lord tell him to put it in his piggy bank in an offshore banking account?

I went and saw family in Georgia two years ago. That side of the family is big into church so we went along with them. There was an older couple there talking about how much of a financial struggle they are in and how they had to use a bunch of their money for medical bills. And then as soon as the tithe hat comes along they dump all the money they have with them into it…
Replace “and then God said” with “I wanted” and suddenly this guy’s telling the truth. Funny how personal greed is “the voice of the Lord” to so many people.
It's wild because one of the actual teachings of Christianity is to be giving and selfless, and not let greed control you. So many people preaching, what they don't practice...

I love that Charlie still understands what it is to be religious, at least enough to detach what these guys do from what it is to actually be Christian. Charlie hit this one perfectly honestly
"Prosperity Gospel" has been such an insidious force within Christianity. And of course, Jesus, the guy who upturned the money-changer's tables in the Temple, would vapourize people like these. Kenneth Copeland would also be turned to smoke.
Been a while since I left the church, but I still feel such absolutely righteous fury at people like this. They're ripping off vulnerable elderly people who trusted him implicitly.
but what about that casting the first stone thing? don't Christians believe in forgiveness? and that rape and torture is perfectly fine as long as you don't kill em? it's a crazy belief system.
This is why people see religion as a joke. This is why I struggled to see religion as anything but a joke. That the meaning of everything has been lost to time despite thorough records kept... faith was never about the material world. God will not give you material fortune, He gives spiritual fortune. I hate having to explain this constantly...
@@George-pl7euif its their way of coping with the situation and theyre not hurting anybody then what's your problem with that? I myself dont believe in God but what i find more annoying than overly religious people, are people like you who shit on other people's beliefs.
@@Brass319I mean imo Christianity isn’t a religion. It’s just having a relationship with Christ and loving your neighbor as yourself. There’s no big ceremony or ritual that we do every week to get saved because we’re saved by belief in Jesus and trying to be like him. Idk that’s my view on it and the bad actors that are basically like the Pharisees in the Bible taint what Christianity should be

This perfectly describes my ex, who wants to be a pastor, of all things !!! He was all the things he should not have been. He was a terrible person who did not represent the Lord at all through his actions and words, and he never took accountability for ANYTHING, things he was literally at fault for, and blamed me for them instead. Nothing at all like how a Christian should act. He was 100% a false prophet. And I really tried too. I tried to be the best example of a Christian that I could be when I dealt with all of that, and I continue to do so to this day. A real, true Christian will always try to have and show the "fruits of the spirit" to others around them. I always want and try to do that.
"I'm Jesus, the son of god. My mom is still a virgin even though she gave birth to me. I turn water into wine, and I can even walk on water, by the way." Doesn't it eerily fit your statement?
my favorite psalm : Men are so simple, and governed so absolutely by their present needs, that he who wishes to deceive will never fail in finding willing dupes - Machiavelli
That would imply some fault on his part, rather than completely dumping the blame on god. Of course he trusts god, god is the ultimate power of goodness and whatever, so him "doing what god told him", as a pastor, absolves him of any fault. If he was tricked by the devil, that means he is a ridiculous fool, and that he has associated with the devil, intentionally or otherwise
I'm starting to wonder if maybe this is some sort of genius legal loophole..? Like what if the law is written such that finding him financially responsible would require proving intent, and so he claimed that his actions were made on nothing but blind faith, in the process providing a viable defense for himself. Our legal system is pretty dumb.. I wouldn't be all that surprised. (Note: I'm probably wrong, there's usually some sort of clause about negligence and I have to imagine this qualifies lol)
@@idontwantahandlethough Ignorance is no defense to breaking the law, so I think even if the court (somehow) came to agree he was just acting in blind faith (good luck convincing them of that), it wouldn't make him suddenly not guilty.
@@idontwantahandlethough no hes just doing prosperity gospel. its nothing new and he didnt come up with it, hes just doing it in a dumber and more illegal way lol. im sure prosperity gospel preachers are able to get away with making money by promising people that if they give the church money god will bless them, bc thats obviously not provable its faith based. but this guy just did straightforward fraud, the crypto scheme itself is illegal, tithing is not
And the sad thing is, even when he's found guilty and facing real charges many of the people he was scamming are going to still support him and call him a martyr

omg a Dante avi! I honestly didn't know how to feel about his honesty to theft. What's the intent? Lesser punishment? lol I'm beginning to think the honest scammer is scarier than the ones in denial. The deniers are more predictable
@Xamry Thanks for the pfp compliment. Second all Churches are tax free meaning all money collected by the church can't be taxed. My bet is since he made this Crypto himself he is expecting that since it was church money he did not commit a crime since no taxes would be placed on it. Which is why he said he took the money. If only members of his church donated then he could claim it was for the church. It would be like Kenith Copeland saying he needs those private jets. Church members donated to the church so legally he can say it's for the church to write of as a tax deductible business expense.
As a fellow Christian there’s something genuinely anger-inducing about corrupt religious figures using their faith to justify the terrible actions that literally go against the very religion they preach. Like no, God didn’t tell you to steal all that money. You just did a horrible thing and now you can’t handle the guilt, but instead of taking accountability and facing the consequences of your actions, you just delude yourself into thinking “Well I only did it because God told me to.”
But don't the faith teach you to repent and all will be forgiving? They don't see anything wrong with it on a faith based. However the state and federal government will be seeking charges. It's funny how they positively made sure they paid their taxes, likely it was taken out of their earnings before they were able to receive them. God I hope karma is real
That is what all faith is. You are only Christian because your local society turned you into one. Like mine made me a good little Muslim drone until I turned 16. It is the LONGEST running MLM SCAM ever. They are all scams. My imam told me that Mohammed had every right to ra pe 9 year old Aisha Ohh the words he used was "marry" I bet your priests also tell you crazy stories about Jesus too… But to you, they don't sound insane because you are selling that MLM too... Wait now that I think of it. Didn't the Christian god himself ra pe Mary to give birth to himself, who is also his son? Does that not sound INSANE to you? Do yourself a favor. Leave the cults and the MLMs... Follow your own path in life.
@@The-Supreme-Leader cool? you just doxxed yourself? why?? (edit) I just realized this is copy pasted into other comment threads and now im just more confused lmao
As a Christian, it’s sadly not surprising that these things continue to happen. The Word of Faith and Prosperity gospel movements are a scam through and through. People continue to buy into these things because they simply believe them when they say “God told me…”
the prosperity gospel is one of the most insidious things I've ever heard of. It's straight up -praying- preying on the most vulnerable people in their congregation.. people that could probably *_really_* use that money that they're so generously [and foolishly] giving away :/
As a Christian I can add on that people like this are deliberately evil. A pastor has to deliberately neglect their relationship with God in order to become this delusional and overall horrid. It's even worse because they then pass on their deluded relationship to the people who attend Church. I don't even go to Church because in my opinion there's no reason to. I stay home and do Bible study myself everyday, no church needed.
If the Judge doesn’t hand down the sentence by saying, “Congratulations pastor, you’ve sold your soul to the Devil.” I will never count the trial as being over.
4:18 “I didn’t know god was into interior design” I feel like this makes alot of sense of why Jesus was a carpenter lol god being a interior designer definitely seems on brand

Not only did he have the nerve to say that God put him onto crypto...he also went on to imply that God (The Omniscient One) has an accuracy of about 50%. I foresee a fair bit of smiting in his future.
@@SaintShion Not surprising considering that even the founder and subsequent leader of the church of England/ Angelicanism seemingly didn't read the parts about "Don't over indulge", "Love thy neighbour" (France) and "Don't cheat on or kill your wife". Not to speak of all the mischief the popes and Catholic church were up to in their 2000 year run.
I did the math and for this video, Mr Crypto Preacher blinked around 3 times per second. Excessive blinking is a sign that a person is lying, but his was so excessive it was actually distracting. I had to look away from the screen in order to even process his words.
dude reminds me of that guy who got rid of adoption and married his adopted son's wife after he lusted after her and his adopted son offered her to him, but he refused because he couldn't marry his own son's wife due to his beliefs. Coincidentally he received permission by God that night and he could marry his adopted son's wife, who was also his cousin, but in turn adoption was abolished.
