I must admit that you two managed to cheer me up. My 74 year old wife died a few weeks ago and I am definitely on the sad side but your banter “arse like a trumpet” made me giggle so THANK YOU very much. You two work well together, just like we did so keep up the good work, you are going to have a great Motorhome at the end of this.
💙💙💙 I’m so sorry to hear this Robert, I can’t even begin to imagine how your feeling but it’s so lovely to think we have been able to make u smile in this tough time, sending lots of love 💙💙💙
Hilarious! Behind all the hilarity though, is clearly a lot of hard work, careful planning and somehow you still manage to throw in some golden nuggets of information and tips! It is looking good! For the cabinets, why not have a spring hinged lip that goes all the way across? Best of both worlds and could even be left down when the van is stationary. (Edits: spelling and mistypes!)
You sir , are a natural at van building . You both gell together so well , I have built a couple of vans in my time . But your standards are Exceptional . And your videos are one of the best . I found you a week ago , can’t put it down now ,you should be on the TV with your vids ( that’s how good they are ) . And WOW what a workshop . Keep em coming guys 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Another brilliant piece! My favourite Saturday morning entertainment/education. You work so well together😊C4 will soon be knocking on your door! Van build, tool demos & even a sack race in there😂Van is looking really great ,keep doing what you do so well JJ.
Loving it, what a great vlog. You make me laugh so much but oh boy you educate as the same time. Bless you and thank you. No bungees, definitely no bungees other than in the garage….I keep mine in a cupboard, for emergencies!!
Nearly 30k subs. Well done and well deserved. Always amazed by your skills and ingenuity. And always fun to watch. So glad John kept his sock on in the recent short! Peace.
I absolutely love this channel. Stumbled across the first video and I have enjoyed seeing this build so much. You are lovely, talented, fun people having a blast and building something so good! Looking forward to seeing the van on your travels 💌
Nice video and very good work. For safety, all non factory conversions of vans with bulkheads should also consider how crashworthy the installed furniture is as debris and shrapnel may fly into the cab area in such a scenario.
Every bloke knows there no such thing as too many tools! The only rule that applies is that you need the right tool for the job. Top content - thank you both 👍
Hey J & J😁. Great vid, been following for quite a while now and loving the adventures! I would love a bit more on costings, especially the defender, it would be good to have a comparison with yourselves and the average coach builder? Keep them coming, can't wait for Scandinavia!!!❤
Hi Ian, thanks for watching. We did a cost breakdown video on the defender you can watch it here 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kdErkCdPo4E.html Sorry we don’t know how much it would cost to get built by someone else as we’ve never looked into it as we enjoy doing it ourselves 💙
I know you wouldn't have the information on professional coach building. It is just ballpark figures so I could see what the savings are, if the hours are put in by yourself. Sorry I missed the Defender cost breakdown, I will catch up when I get home. Maybe throw a figure in to the corner of the screen at the end of every build video, I'm just being nosey? Anyhow, great job, keep them coming and stay happy.😁
Great to see how well the build is coming on! THE CUPBOARD ABOVE THE DOOR DEFINITELY NEEDS A BUNGEE!!! looking forward to seeing it (the bungee) when the van is completed!
Just can’t get enough of watching you both on this build/journey. Incredible workmanship from you both and the editing is top level. You both deserve all the praise you get. Roll on the next episode…😁
Hello both, must say first off, like the BANTER AND FUN! Also appreciated is the way you both show the process and preperation for the assembly of each item, in a way it can be understood by everyone. The layout inside is very practical and not cluttered. So enjoyed watching this episode and looking forward to the next! Best wishes from Lincolnshire.
What an excellent choice for a conversion, and so professionally done. We'll done. Also your content and presenting style is worthy of TV broadcast. Subbed
Only discovered you two at the start of this build and you quickly became one of my fave channels (and I follow about 40). Perfect build for me. I wouldn't need to pull the bed out unless I had a visitor 😜 so my dog would have floor space (he ain't allowed on the bed/couch).... Good job
If I ever buy a plot of land will you two build the tiny home village that I dream of. A circle of houses (all back gardens will not be overlooked) my tiny home will be in the middle with a wrap around porch/veranda (as if living on a roundabout) and the village shop will be the first building and it'll be my shop 😂
I’ve commented before how much I love you guys & really enjoy the continuing “Passion Wagon” 😂Build, and look forward to next chronicle’s with you guys, as it brings so much enjoyment to us all watching! But I have to say Jon, it’s about time Festool put their hands in their very deep pockets, & start sponsoring “Tool Talk time” !! 👍 So..”Festool UK” pull your finger out, and get in touch with these guys, as no one else is promoting your products like Jon is!! Oh not forgetting Jess of course 😜👍
So lovely to hear that you enjoy the videos, thank you 💙💙 He’s only got the 2 festool products…. That I’m aware of 😂 although god help me I did hear him dribbling on about domino downing tool today 🤦♀️
Ha! That is the best 'sponsored' advert ever 😂. In fairness we love ours (no spoilers). Would absolutely love to play in your workshop, so much room for activities! Love a pocket hole - what are your thoughts on biscuit joints too? Your videos are just amazing guys - tips, banter and so so much progress. Also any problem can be solved with a bungee. Sorry Jess 😂
😂😂😂 to give him his dues it has been pretty handy already. We are very lucky with the workshop although there’d be a lot more space if he didn’t have multiples of. EVERYTHING! 😂 we use biscuits too, mostly for joining thicker bits of board to make a big flat piece, like most of the furniture and worktops in our house are built out of reclaimed scaffold boards so use them to join the boards together length ways, we prefer pocket holes for 90 degree joins and thinner wood even though the fillings a pain. Yes, in the garage 😂😂😂
Using the office chair to figure out the most ergonomic position of the benches was a nifty idea. Looks like you’ve got a decent layout, seems to be balanced and doesn’t appear to be cramped. Also in regards to the tools, it’s not hoarding if they’re organised.
Hi John/Jess, my first time watching today and I really enjoyed watching your program. But you must be a proper carpenter to do work like that very professional. The best commentary on the job including your tools etc great. Only problem is you guys are making me homesick as we live in Western Australia. I don’t know where you are living now but it looks very nice are you guys from Hertfordshire area? Anyhow great video guys thanks. PS he deserves a bungee🥴🥴 Jon 🇦🇺🇬🇧
😂😂 thanks 😊, no im a mechanic and Jess worked for the council. Funnily enough Jess was born and raised in WA and I lived there for 4 years too, it’s where we first met, and no matter what country we are in we always miss the other, I get where the term ping pong pom comes from now, we live in Norfolk tho but miss WA like crazy 😊👍
Really liking your build and attention to detail. I probably missed it, but roughly whats the overall Length, width and height of the van please? I really appreciate your time to produce these videos..
Pop rivet idea solution was great, so obvious now, but how many times have I riveted at an angle. The additions you add to your collection will always improve the quality of the work and reduce the time achieving the results you want. You don't purchase tools for tools sake.
RU-vid recommended your channel and now im hooked, really entertaining and you are both really knowledgeable. Got to say I'm impressed with the tool collection too John! Definitely one of my favourite channels now👍
Ah I felt happy with one bungee and then right at the end no bungee 😂😂😂... Lovely series, you honestly make your videos as well as TV programs and it grabs my attention from start to finish!
Hey guys. Coming along nicely. I have to say, I dont like those pocket screws. I dont rely on the fastener. I believe in wood glue. The fastener is only to hold it while the glue dries. I just pin with the air nailer. Proper strong joint.
@@truebluetravellers Rather than legs on the bed, some sort of fixed cleat or neat, folding bracket on the wall to support the corners and you should be good to go. Is the front edge of the frame tube or angle profile? Rectangle tube on edge is most rigid. Angle could kink with a concentrated load, like from a knee while you climb on.
Recent subscriber here. Loving your videos and banter. And amazing what you’ve achieved in a short space of time - both with the builds and with your channel. Keep up the good work! 😊
Protest all you like Jess but we all know you love a good tool collection. Also....a bungee is a perfectly acceptable solution to hold the baskets into the shelves 😂
Sainsbury's delivery driver here, absolutely buzzed seeing one of our old vans being repurposed in such an amazing way 👌 Glad to see you've put proper tyres on it as those vans are awful on ANY slippery surface including wet grass! The combination of rear wheel drive, automatic gearbox and zero weight over the back axle has left many drivers stranded in embarrassing places 🤦♂️😂
@@philboboggins Bloody Masternaut system 🤬🤬 From our store we cover a lot of rural areas and single track roads, it's almost impossible to avoid yellows or even a red as the locals drive round those tracks as though they own them 🤦♂️
was on a single track the other day well below the speed limit, tractor came steaming around the bend. no chance of braking gently wet leaves and mud ABS kicked in masternaut went red,😡😡.. and you cant even brake gently on any of our wonderfully rutted potholed town roads, cos that sets it off aswel..
Hi friends! You are both hysterical! Really enjoyed this video Your build is looking very good and so fast! John your hair looks great Good for windy days Look forward to your next video Love and hugs from Sharon in SA
Just come across your channel and so glad I did - you two are a perfect match for each other. The fun that you two generate is just what the doctor ordered. Your workmanship is first class and attention to detail is second to none. Jess, I can clearly see that you are the boss, and I have to agree with you - absolutely no bungees in the living area (would destroy the whole aesthetics), garage area is fine. Looking forward to further vlogs.
You guys crack me up 🤣😂 with your funny sence of humer and just the best couple as well. Got to say it's coming together bit by bit now so keep up the amazing work 💪🏻. Seeing u got quite a bit of wood in there u should do a wooden roof like I said then varnish it off for a good effect 😊. #bungie 😂
The conversion looks great (again), considering where you’re going have you thought about a van skirt to keep the underside warmer/draught free when parked up or will the insulated body be enough?
Me and my missus subscribed, after YT algorithms showed us your Sainsburys van's inaugural vid. We look forward to the next video each time now. We love your banter, but also I'm building a tiny home myself next year, so we have a laugh and learn too. Thanks guys! 😊
Congrats on the Festool Tracksaw. My wife was dubious about it as well, but I think it has been one of the best tool purchases I've made. Next up... the Festool Domino. :P
Not sure on the weight of the body on its own but I think it was 2060kg empty with box on, mileage was 90k and it’s just bolted to the chassis with about 12bolts 👍
Gonna chuck a spanner in works,,,,,,,how much money do you pair earn .......as us that would love the life style .....would struggle ........come on be honest
I know what u mean it does seem like we flash the cash but it’s not quite as it seems, if you watch our q&a it explains all but we are currently unemployed so not much money coming in 👍
Hi Again, Couple of questions.... A. Where did you get the stainless shower tray? B. Is the waste outlet recessed in the tray? Presume you've gone straight through the floor into the 18l tank below? C. What thickness ply are the walls? Cheers Kev
Hi Kev, so shower walls were 18mm but everything else is 12mm, the shower tray is recessed, and yep went straight through the floor into the tank, I’ll drop the link to the tray below mate www.romerworld.co.uk/product-page/stainless-steel-shower-trays
Imagine how quickly you could get all these jobs done, if only Jess would help out a bit mate. All she seems to do is womens work i.e. yak yak yak. 😮😮😮
OUCH Jon, that sounded like you broke your hand (or Jess's butt) with a SLAP like that lol. LOL Jess and the gun show💪 I'd go with a lip rather the doors but add a layer of cloth #curtain to keep things in their hidden/private without the added weight and hassle of doors LOL at Jono's blown baywatch audition Peace and love all and stay safe x
So, a new tracksaw this week? I suspect that as you're progressing you're maybe getting a bit light on spanners now. Maybe times for a new set? You know, it'd be rude not to. I can't fault you - I bought a new synthesizer this week and haven';t told my wife. Hopefully she won't notice. I make strange noises anyway.
Hi Guys Just wanted to say again your knowledge and skills are amazing, but today fitting a resistor for the airbag, that is next level. Two thoughts, have you considered doing one or two conversions a year for other people. Secondly, have you thought about doing a workshop for one or two campers, where people pay and you offer help and guidance. Ps, we would sign up in an instance. Finally you have inspired us so much that we are going to do another van conversion next year. Keep the videos coming you are both brilliant. Chris and Teresa
Hi guys, thanks ever so much, it’s much appreciated, I love van conversions but worry if I made it my job I’d end up hating it I’d love to do one on one teaching or helping people with campers etc but it’s all just time at the minute,I just couldn’t do it unless I could put 100% into it, It’s lovely to hear that the videos are inspiring and I’m stoked that it on with looking for a new van, make sure u send us some pics when ur on With it as we love to see a camper come together 👍
