Jesus Christ when is RU-vid going to fix these damn bots? Your content is shit, that's why you need a bot to shill it to people who don't care..@@CowDudeTheBestistAwesome
Wouldn't work in this game if it released today too. It's all just too industrialized and too much networking. Especially apparent when WoW vanilla launched and weeks beforehand everyone started theorycrafting the best builds and stuff and people lost interest in it insanely quickly because they realized it'll never be like back then.
@@asdfasdf-mn8iu Yeah before Diablo 4 even released people had the Best Character builds, which is HYPER specific. People would buy the game and complete it before taking a break. Following word for word and movement for movement what to do to unlock certain gear, which would only serve to make it easier to unlock other gear. Whats the F*cking point
Charlie’s dead right about this one. The combination of classes, weapons and powerups were incredible. And it was somehow all perfectly balanced from day 1 with little to no patches? You just had to be there
Perfectly balanced is a bit of a stretch. I played it. I remember that trolls were kind of shit minions were useless and probably the best thing with the healing tree and the glider.
@northerntoe I'm sorry but you didn't play for very long, some of the best players were trolls. They're incredibly strong as an early class and are hard-countered by dwarves which is the rarest class by far Troll players are some of the most dominant in the game
Never played cause I vaguely remember hearing dwarf shotty left the game busted back in the obama days, also two jobs during that time, so it was a popular cult gem for a term. The real shame is this and divine cybermancy are still more appealing than overwatch.
same I’m honestly surprised I forgot about this game it was such a fun game back then, glad I found the name again. Time to hop back on that and give it a try again.
There’s so many Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 games that are examples of that, so many small companies were trying new and unique idea, but now it seems that many companies would rather just follow trends, and overused ideas, making a generic boring game in the process, and also the fact that many games release broken at launch with promised content, that ends up being completely missing at launch or completely different and disappointing as to what was promised. Like obviously so many games now and days are still unique and creative, and go under the radar, due to bigger game releases, or maybe poor marketing or whatever the case, but Xbox 360/PS3 was just filled with so many unique games that are underrated and slowly never got the attention they deserved.
Omg Moist unlocked a hidden memory for me. I remember being in middle school staying up all night playing this game on the regular. Elf with a katana, teleport and stealth is OP. I always loved rocking Troll with a Gatling gun and a dwarf homie that would have tree of life to be able to keep you alive forever. Great game, small, but dedicated community back when I played on 360. Good times. It was the proto-Overwatch if you wanna go there, reminiscent of TF2 and Counter Strike as well.
I remember watching the trailer to this game when it came out and being blown away by it, but I was poor at the time and couldn’t afford it unfortunately
Oh my god I was SO FU**ING happy to see that I'm not the only person who remembers how legendary 2007 Shadowrun is. I remember mastering the hell out of this game and I was so sad when everyone quit, the game came out right before Halo 3 got released.
This game is also backwards compatible with Xbox one and xbox series X so the chances of playing it online and finding a game is really easy too, it's cool, so let's all bring shadowrun back
There still is, charlie was playing with a bunch of the people who are part of the current comp scene. been a pretty big discord for at least a year and a half now, we play ranked games every day always matches going on
Dude Shadowrun is so god damn good. Like the way you could teleport around through walls, use the Katana and cause bleeding, the different races, etc. I forgot all about this, thanks for resurfacing a great part of my childhood!
This game took so much of my childhood. It was the alternate game to GoW back then. Massively underrated and ahead of it's time. The reviews were such a sabotage haha
We need moist to keep making videos about these old games to bring more attention to them. Since new games suck we might as well repopulate the ones that are actually good.
This game holds a special place in my 2007 Xbox 360 heart! I met so many cool people on this game when party chat was first becoming a thing. We'd all hop on during the week and pub stomp fools till bed. Shit was crazy man, what a time!
DUUUUUUUUUDEEEE!!!! YESSSS IM SO GLAD YOU'RE COVERING THIS. Basically Halo 3 overshadowed it. And yea theres a super cool discord, they are super friendly and stream, i don't play but i love watching them stream though. I hope people look at this and start populating it again. Its such a blast from the past.
I remember only having the demo of this game when i was a kid. The troll was locked and there was only one map but i played hours and hours just fighting bots. Underrated gem of a game and im happy that i got to experience what it had to offer even if it wasn't the full thing
I recently downloaded about 2 weeks ago for pc. There is a tiny active discord that organizes casual and ranked games and has guides on setting up the game for online play.
Omg I miss this game so much. I played this religiously with rainbow six Vegas Such a gem that deserved so much more play. This could have been one of the giants but cod 4, Halo and rainbow took the attention of most gamers. So glad someone else appreciated this game as much as I did
I remeber playing this game like there was no tomorrow as a kid after school. The trailer alone when you loaded up the game was a masterpiece of cinema, all the memories flooded back with this one.
this was one of the most wholesome videos ever, I wish I could've watched all this live thanks for this charlie! it's so nice to see you having nostalgia fun
omfg you've been taking me back into a time portal with the gears of war and this shadowrun videos. I used to play tf out of this game, if they still have active games i will dig up my old copy.
"its criminal that this game never took off" is spot on. I couldn't get friends to even consider Shadowrun back in the day. So fun. I hope they remaster it!
as a formerly top ranked halo competitor back in the 360 era lots of the highskill cap dudes also played alongside and came from shadow run, shadow run had all its players siphoned over to halo/halo2
Gosh I saw the thumbnail and was like "that's gotta be Shadowrun, especially since he's been really talking about how he's been enjoying it thoroughly" makes me happy as someone who enjoyed it when I was younger.
Remember a guy we used to set up LANs with back in the day, was playing this and I was like "magic and guns?", we'd all jump on whenever we got sick of Halo and whatever CoD was out at the time, which wasn't that often.
Actually criminal how underrated this game is. Got it on sale for $5 back in 2013 and my boys and I had months of fun. Wish they would reboot this bad boy I know we would all immediately jump right back in
Today's Fact: In 1986, a man named Roger Boisjoly warned NASA officials about a potential disaster with the Challenger space shuttle; years earlier, he had been involved in a similar incident with the Titan III rocket, which also resulted in a major disaster.
Shadowrun was the game me and my friends played when we didn't have any comp halo/cod stuff going on and I had infinitely more fun on Shadowrun than I did in my 20,000+ hours of Halo. Shadowrun was such an incredible game. Some of the old Halo pros tried competitive Shadowrun at a couple MLG events but it just never managed to take off.
charlie saying gears 2 was his first midnight launch and now praising 360 shadowrun out of nowhere just makes me thing i was manufactured in the same factory...
I could go into how much I played this as a kid growing up. One of the best times of my youth was playing this with my siblings. What a blast from the past. Do genuinely remember thinking how much potential was in this but lacked the capabilities for online play like we have now.
This is basically a total conversion mod for halo combat evolved. Was literally developed on the same engine. Had some wierd collab with FEAR 1 via roosterteeth for some reason too.
12:08 Reminds me of this comment I read going something like "That's why I love watching old movies, they take their time and they feel new." But Charlie said it for video games.
one of my all time favorite games, stoked you're playing! with the trolls, you wanna space out your shots because the faster they take damage the faster they grow their exo-skeleton armor shit
This has brought so many memories back not only of this game but xbox360 in general just dusted my 360 off and ordered a control. Have all next week off conveniently so I’ll be living like it’s 2009 for a week
God that reminds me how i went to that "friends" place where their parents took care of us while my dad was at work, i discovered that game on their Xbox and loved it, but only had the chance to play this game occasionally when i was at his place. man the memories of me sitting on the rug in front of the fat cubed TV
When I was a kid I played the Shadowrun 2007 demo with friends a lot. We couldn’t afford the full game. The demo let you play on one map and it was really fun. Between this demo, Gears, Runescape, and Rainbow Six Vegas, my Summer 2007 was amazing
i remember this game way back in the day, but every time i tried to look it up i could never find it. id always look up shadowrun, but this game wouldnt come up for some reason. im glad to see this show up in a youtube video to remind me of it again. i remember this being pretty fun
