Hey Charlie, I’m truly sorry to hear the loss of your siblings. I had a friend of mine who was killed February 1st 2008 two days before the super bowl and of course the Giants won that super bowl. Then January 25th. 2012 about week and a half before Super Bowl 46, my friend who was to be in my wedding died in his sleep. I'm a die hard cowboys fan but I've said for years that this was the most impressive playoff run ever. Had to beat tamp bay on the road( no biggie) but then #1 seed 13-3 dallas cowboys, brett Favre at the frozen tundra in green bay then the 18-0 undefeated new England Patriots! Like I said the best post season ever. Respect giants
@Richkeyj
@Richkeyj 4 года назад
And the giants inability to stop the run actually helped them win this game because the Cowboys ate up a lot of the clock and kept it a low scoring game. Had the Cowboys passed the ball more I believe they would have had a greater chance to win because the Giants secondary was horrible for most of the game.

@johnortan1890
@johnortan1890 2 года назад
@@Richkeyj cowboys did pass alot in the second half, its just the receivers were dropping alot. Fasano dropping a td that hit Fasano inthe chest so cowboys had to kick a field goal. Romo escaped a sacked side armed around a player hitting an open Crayton on third down that could have ran down to the endzone but instead dropped it. Crayton dropping another first down, Crayton stutter stepping to not catch the game winner. T.O. not locating a deep ball that fell in front of his face. That's like 3 or 4 tds cowboys could have had if the receivers caught very easy catches. But still I agree that should have passed more in the first half because the oline was actually blocking in the first half. Romo had 8 tds on giants in the regular season 4 each game and cowboys play the first half running the ball. Makes no sense.
@philliphols
@philliphols Год назад
@@Richkeyj I don’t buy this. The cowboys run game was dominant and with that performance they had no excuse to lose. Where they failed was allowing quick scores to a giants offense that couldn’t sustain as well as the cowboys

@@johnortan1890 At least you’re not blaming the refs like most cowboys fans do. I agree by what you’re saying those Drops should have been touchdowns. As a Giants fan I give Romo a lot of credit. He was pressured a ton in the second half and still gave his guys opportunities to make plays and they failed. The touchdown the Giants had at the end of the first half gave them a ton of momentum going into halftime. That was a blow to Dallas.

@@johnysac420 I just LOVE answering this! Eli’s draft class includes Rivers and Rothlisberger, so let’s make a comparison between them. They are 6th, 7th, and 8th all time in yards and and TDs. So, they are pretty close to being the same. Before the 2019 season: Ben 56194 Eli 55,981 (-213) Philip 54,656 (-1325) A pretty closely knit group. Let’s look at TDs: Player Philip 374 Eli 360 (-11) Ben 360 (-14) Once again, very close consider how long they have been in the league. Let’s look at one more stat to put it all in perspective: The number of attempts. Eli 7972 Ben 7168 (-804) Philip 7000 (-972) WAIT A MINUTE! They have about the same number of yards and TDs, but Roethlisberger did it with 804 fewer attempts?!?!? And Rivers with 972 fewer attempts! That’s almost 2 complete years of more attempts for Eli to have the same stats! Throwing A LOT to have the same stats does not make a QB great or even good. It means he’s average with an incredibly long career. A 116-116 attests to that fact. Eli is not now or ever has been HoF worthy.

I will forever love that ‘07 team. I was 14 years old and it was only my third year being a giants fan. And I still remember jumping up and running around my house after RW’s game winning interception. Up to that point it was the greatest moment in sports I had witnessed. Thank you for such an incredible moment.

The 2nd half of the Giants' 2007 season, when they lost all their home games but won all their road games, plus all their playoff wins on the road, was like the upside-down 2019 World Series (pardon my digression to baseball) when the road teams won all 7 games. 😮

Great thing about that. They backed up that win by going to GB and then beating 16-0 NE. Not like LAR last year in an epic game before getting crushed in the SB or Minnesota 2 years ago with the miracle before getting crushed by Philly in the CC game. That Giants win in DAL is meaningful cause of winning it all.

I remember watching the second matchup between the Giants and the Cowboys earlier and thinking that 31-20 didn’t really tell the story and the game was a lot closer than that score And you could just see the Giants getting better throughout the year their confidence just grew so I really wasn’t too surprised when they did beat the Cowboys in the playoffs

I love this kind of documentary of a game. They are exceptional athletes, yes . . . but the way they analyze and react to the complexity of the game is incredibly impressive too. I remember during the season how Antonio Pierce continued to exhort his young defensive teammates (I recall they went through a few Defensive Backs) to keep learning and playing better. Not surprised that he is now Head Defensive Coach at Arizona. Also married to the same woman for 13 years . . . Put in a tough week as an intern at the Howard Stern show too (not afraid of a challenge).

I think that last game of the regular season when the Giants went toe to toe with the Pat's gave them the confidence they needed to win it all. Up next was another brawl in a sub zero Green Bay .. The Giants beat 3 great teams that year in the post season and perhaps one of the best of all time. Yes I know they played TB in the wildcard in Tampa.

Matt Kane , Broncos / Giants FAN FOR LIFE here. Yes, Sir; Coach Coughlin made the decision to play all his starters in Week 17 against that then-undefeated Patriots team. It was a GREAT decision on his part. The Giants played well, ended up losing that game, and carried that experience onward into the playoffs on the road, culminating in the Super Bowl victory over an 18-0 New England Patriots team trying to make history at their expense. G-MEN !!!!!!!

They won four road games against teams that if I'm not mistaken were a combined 53-13 in the regular season. That's an average of over 13 wins a team. Let that sink in.

Little wholesome story to share. I'm an Aussie Giants fan, began following during Eli's rookie year thanks to getting my first ever madden game and falling in love with the Giants. Most of my family clowned me for following NFL, them being hugely into NRL/AFL over here. But my Pop was different, when I'd see him, he'd always ask about how my team was going and ask me about how the game works. By the time this year came around I was more fanatical about the Giants over any of my Australian teams, which after realizing my Pop without telling me started watching that year from the preseason onwards, trying to learn the game for me. When I was planning my trip to visit my grandparents that Christmas break, we spoke over the phone and told me that he's been watching most of the season, that there should be a Giants game on when I'm down and asked if I'd watch it with him. Sadly, was one of the only games we got to watch together but got to say just makes this already amazing game feel so much sweeter when I look back. Both of us just going off at the TV during the last interception is something I hope to remember forever. Now our boys in Blue are getting back to the playoffs, been a long time and even if it doesn't happen this year, I feel another Lombardi coming soon!

That giving out the tickets thing was great fuel. Glad Jones did it. Giants defense put it on them that game. Especially an offense as good as Dallas that year I wasn’t expecting them to be held to a low score.

2007 cowboys have arguably one of the best offenses thay ever existed. And despite what people say Romo didnt choke in this game, he played good as fuck, but this game goes to show that all the talent in the world cant stop pure determination. Giants would go on to prove their determination by beating the Patriots for the super bowl and that Patriots team is easily one of the best complete teams of all time.
@johnortan1890
@johnortan1890 2 года назад
People like to blame Romo, even though Romo like you mentioned actually played great. People ignore the dropped catches, like with Fasano dropping a td that hit Fasano in the chest, Crayton dropped an easy catch on third down with field to run down to the endzone, Crayton dropped another first down the series later, Crayton stutter stepped to not catch the game winner, T.O. dropped a 50 yard bomb in the 4th.

The Green Bay packer game was the most underrated playoff win in the Super Bowl 46 run. People forget the packers were 15-1 Super Bowl contenders who got beat handily by Eli Manning and the Giants. And the great "discount double check" Aaron Rodgers was outplayed by Eli Manning.
