WRTV's Cornelius Hocker reports. Just days after the death of a teenage girl at her bus stop in Bartholomew County, her grieving mother fears the accused killer will never face punishment.
Courts are a judicial system, not justice system. Judicial is that branch of government which is responsible for maintaining the courts of law. Justice is the characteristic of being just or fair.
@@davidderler5924 According to the probable cause affidavit, 25-year-old Shiam Sunder Shankara Subramanian was driving his Honda Civic southbound when he hit Streeval and continued to drive away from the scene.
I don't see how y'all haven't realized the cops get a joy of seeing dead bodies rather then running ,chasing a violent person 🤦🏻♀️take y'all's heads out your butts
The "justice" system in not really meant to serve justice. It's mainly a tool to make money these days. It only works when the criminal is too broke to hire a good attorney. I thought O.J and Cosby proved that already.
Did they disqualify bail for that police that killed a man with his knee in broad daylight 🤔… yea ok this is the United States of America sis the land of the fucked up n crooks
@@imarvg8285 yessiry bob! I had a case where they told me to pay 5000 up front or get up to 1 year in jail. Like wtf!!!??? My 1 year of life is worth $5000!??? Man thats why I'm trying start a business n bounce tf outta 'the greatest country in the world' as only us Americans put it
Everything is debatable in the court of law. Societal court can blah blah all they want. What the F was the daughter doing that got her into this in the first place. I want to know. Was she being an irresponsible pedestrian? Buses have blind spots.
@@byefelicia8632 I find your words rather offensive. Blaming the victim? At the same time, I understand your intrigue and thought process, after the fact. According to this video, it happened at a bus stop. The driver apparently neglected the fact that a School bus was stopped, and drove AROUND the school bus (from behind) ? She was trying to get on the bus. Was the bus stopped before she decided to cross the street? I'm guessing it was, and had it's red lights on, as well. Inquiring minds want to know... Was she looking down at a phone, while crossing the street ? Do these things, really matter? Maybe, in a Court ! I'm guessing she was crossing the street when she was struck, because the door to a bus is on the passenger side of the bus. What was the driver of the car doing before he struck the girl ? Was HE in a hurry to be somewhere, or was this just a pattern of how he drives ? We don't know any of this from this video alone. When it comes down to it, the fact is she would still be alive after that life moment, if it weren't for the driver that ignored the school bus and her crossing the road.
@@michaelbest1827 You can get offended all you want. We’re all responsible for our own safety. The driver didn’t see her most likely. Looks like a case of a stupid teenager who didn’t know how to be safe when approaching a bus. We need less of those in these world. So Bye Felicia.
@@amandamcclendon9547 Chasing him may have caused another accident. Thank heavens it didn't. That is the first impulse to get the asshole I'm glad he caught him. Curious to know how the trial will go.
Yes he did the right thing then this piece of shit gonna say it was an object he called that baby a fuckin object!!!!!! Knowing damn well he hit a child because he couldn't wait for those children to board they school bus!!! Everybody knows you dont go around no fuckin school bus because children are present in the roadway from both sides of the street hence why there is a freakin stop sign on the buses so all traffic will stop in all directions he shouldnt have a bail!!! And on top of that this poor excuse for a human being left the scene didnt have enough decency to stop and check on the child he needs life in prison im sorry Im so hurt for this family!!! God got a plan for him tho watch...what goes around comes around!!! You will reap what you sow!!!
@A H As I’m reading these comments about this tragic and horrific death of a young 16-year-old child. It makes me very 😞 It’s was senseless for drive of the car to circle around the school bus. Striking the young child and killing her instantly! Without stoping to check to see if child was alive. What he was in a hurry for??? He’s speeding down the highway only to get home to nothing!!! It’s a big yellow school bus for goodness sake!!! It ether means slow down or Stop when you see a big yellow school bus!!! You have seen children getting on/off the school bus. All he needed to do is wait a few minutes for bus the to move. Now this bright and ambitious sixteen year old was killed. Seem like she had a bright future ahead teaching herself how to speak Japanese. I pray God will give the mother strength to fight justice system for her child! Mom remember God is with you in your pain/sorrow of losing your child.
So many people tell folks to just mind your own business. In this case That guy made it his business not to let the killer get away. For that he has my respect & gratitude.
When someone hits someone with their car it's usually an accident, but if they run, it turns into murder. Vehicular manslaughter should not be the charge. He should be charged with murder like any other murderer is.
Ain’t nothing new! I’m surprised someone was their to witness it and go after that vehicle. Sounds like the hit and run driver was on Meth listening to the guys that chased him down.
@@IrishAmerican17 It’s evident why the media isn’t showing his face. Look at it like this! If it was a black individual that did this hit and run would the media keep that individual out of the news? My experience says! Hell know, he’d be plastered all over the 6 o’clock news for all to see and scream give him life in prison. He killed the young teenager who won’t know the experience of life, she’ll never know what it’s like to experience life. Give him the maximum amount of years in prison. 170 years would be the sentence, natural life behind prison bars. Real talk, that’s just the way it is. So we know the hit and run driver is a white individual and he’s someone that’s parents are Privileged.
But that's how most drivers see everything on the road. If you haven't noticed? No one has any respect for any one place person or thing on American roads. Everyone is an object just to get around. Sad
Right! I have a speeding habit which is not ok- but not in school zones or parking lots, etc. going around a school bus- there’s no excuse for that. Even if they are on the other side - I’m not moving until it’s clear
These are the same jerks that blow through red lights and stop signs and swerve around other cars cutting them off, they think they are so important that the laws and common decency dont apply to them.
I can understand her pain, one of my family going thru this for awhile now. You can’t stop drivers, some people they think you have to speed drive bcuz they do. Sorry for her lost🙏🏽
This country is backwards! You can MURDER someone and get a bond. Shame on the NO-justice system there. He needs to be held without bond. My heart goes out to the mom and the rest of her family. Please stay strong. I'm praying for your strength and justice to be served.
my nephew was murdered by a felon on probation. They gave the guy 1st degree murder and a life sentence. 2 years into the sentence now they are trying to let him out...
@@kellyanderson7624 How would you feel if it was your son or daughter ran down like an animal and left for dead? Even after the Good Samaritan told him he hit a child, he referred to her as "hitting something". Everyone knows that you are supposed to STOP for school buses! He went around, committing a crime. He struck a child, another crime. He fled the scene, committing another crime. Now.a teen's life is taken away. He deserves LIFE! NO BOND AND NO PAROLE!
"I hit an object." Tell, tell, signs of a narcissist. Probably isn't his first incident either. Praying that this family receive justice, & praying for the witnesses. I can only imagine that memory being itched in their brain.
I don't know about everyone else but I witnessed a pedestrian get hit 60 years ago and it's still like a video playing in my head, still see the guy flying up in the air. Thank goodness the person wasn't horribly injured, a badly broken leg. It was horrible but, this is weird, funny as well. He was clawing around with his hands scrambling, trying to catch onto something as he flew up into the air about 6 or 7 feet. It was in front of fraternity house and I think he might have had a few brews? My heartfelt condolences to this grieving mother and the rest of her family and friends.
A few years ago my brother and I was coming from the grocery store and we saw this young man get hit by a large suv. I pulled over and got out to see if i could help but he jumped up and staggered over to a near by bus stop. I live in a fairly large city so a lot us stayed with him until the emts got there. I often wonder what happened to him. It still scares me to remember it.
Her grief must be so intense that she finds comfort in the spot her daughter bled out. Actually sitting in the street and rubbing the blood left. I pray she finds comfort in places her daughter lived and loved and not just that terrible place. So sad. Prayers for justice for this beautiful angel.
It was the last place she lived. Seeing the mom touching her poor baby’s blood on the street just shattered my heart I can’t imagine the moms. Beautiful little girl hurt so badly.
This has me in a mess of tears.....two weeks ago my son almost got hit trying to get on the bus....we live in a residential neighborhood, 30 mph....but assholes in a rush in the morning.....He would have been dead had I not been there to snatch him back....
@@ImVeryBrad it is terrifying. I live and work at 2 somewhat busy intersections. The one by home has about 10 assholes a day making a left turn to go south. They don't care about the fact that you're in a legit crosswalk. They will cuss you out because they think their shit doesn't stink. The one by the church I work at is even worse. That crosswalk has been there for 50+ years. I've gotten close to being hit so many times that I'd be filthy rich if had a $1 for each time. And since there's no light, they just stroll right through. Even cops have tried to give me tickets for jaywalking. IN a crosswalk!
He shouldn’t be given BAIL, that’s why the mother feels hopeless that nothing will happen because judges are on the side of the perpetrator in most cases
@@thealanford4780 and you would be left alone as well once the story got out of why you’re there. No inmate messes with someone convicted of killing a child murderer.
Well when these idiots are the judges this what you get..don't feel sorry because these the same people who blame drunk women for getting raped if they not white
I get so pissed when news reporters call something like this an "accident!" That minimizes the EXTREME NEGLIGENCE of the driver, and the death(s) he/she caused! And no, the POS should not be able to bond out!
So sad, Rest In Peace Lily and the other young lady😔. My condolences to both of the families😔 You all are in my thoughts and prayers and God bless you all🙏🙏🙏🙏
I thank God everyday I'm still here on this earth with my children. I was hit by a car thrown exactly amount as her daughter was. I can't even imagine the pain this mother is in. I hope she gets justice for her daughter.
I can't imagine being these parents. Omg. Prayers for them, I wish there's something we could do or say to comfort you and take it pain but there isn't. I'm so profoundly sorry. God bring u peace and comfort.
BAIL???? Omg, are our children it worth anything anymore?? Absolutely, inexcusable to see a monster like that allowed to walk the streets where he brutally took the life of that precious angel..... My heart breaks for her family, and friends who now have to go on in life without her. 🙏🙏🇨🇦
My heart breaks for this family 💔. I don't think it's a good idea to let the driver post bail. He's not American and is a flight risk. I hope that child receives justice
I drove for 3 years. Soooo many ppl have almost hit children due to not paying attention or rushing. Seeing an accident almost happen was terrifying. Praying for her family. So sad.
This is just so sad poor baby girl just getting on the school bus unreal and this ignorant bastard killed this baby in a rush to go no where I hope he gets slot of years or life he shouldn’t have never passed the bus he should have a ankle monitor on in our country we have driving rules set for a reason idiot God Rest your Soul Beautiful Baby girl Prayers to her Family
I have grandkids that catch the bus everyday and I've seen drivers pass the stopped bus with sign out and flashing lights. Two years ago one of those cars was a highway patrol car! Needless to say our efforts to find out the identity of the officer was sucked into a blackhole of run arounds and dead ends. We had to fight to have the bus route changed so the kids were let off so they didn't have to cross the road. Fight for your babies!!!
The same thing happened to my cousin in San Diego Ca. And the guy was never found. Lucky you had someone follow him. No one ever followed the person that ran him over🙏
I could barely breathe and don't know how my heart even kept beating while listening to this mother. SO MUCH in life doesn't matter one iota compared to something like this. My whole being aches for her. And things like this happen multiple times a day. I wish that the thoughts and prayers of people she knows and strangers like us could somehow help her. Whoever reads this, please don't do anything willfully or accidentally to cause hurt to someone else.
If that was my kid I'd definitely go out looking for the person or waiting for her outside the jail, they'd be unable to identify who it was when I was done with it.
Who are you to say what is a "healthy" way to grieve? Everyone is different in their sorrow, and this mother clearly is mourning very hard at the very sudden and brutal murder of her daughter, especially when the murderer tried to claim "it was an object" that he hit when he was confronted, when it was CLEARLY a child. Let the mother feel how she feels.
@@rainbowshinelove1208 Everything is not "OK", just because that is how they "want to do it". There is nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious, especially if it is done to HELP someone. The woman is laying in the street rubbing her hand over her deceased child's blood. That is NOT normal. That is EXTREME grief, and I do not want to see that escalate into her possibly harming herself. I absolutely understand her grief. My father was killed in an accident 22 years ago. I was there. He died while I frantically tried to keep him alive. Yes, there are "healthy" ways to grieve. And if people do not help with that process, you may never get through it, or worse.
@@floodx4947 I repeat. Everyone grieves differently. My grandfather's first reaction to my grandmother's peaceful passing was to lay and hold her dead body until the coroner came to get her. If that mother finds comfort in where her daughter passed away, you are not fit to say it's unhealthy. What you felt and what she feels are completely different.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Gone far too soon. This is nothing a parent should ever have to go through. He should be non bondable for this type of crime. I hope you find comfort and peace.
Now as long the country gets Money. They will release him and he will flee back to wherever he came from. And they will keep the meger portion of the 500 k bail and go Oh well.
As a former school bus driver, that was one of our BIGGEST fears, especially when we had to guide our students across the street! And there MANY times fools had ran our red lights with no thought of a young human life crossing the street! And it makes my blood boil when someone from another land (or a native of our own, for that matter) TOTALLY disregards that like it’s no big deal!
Hugging her mom with my ❤. There is nothing I can say that will ever make her feel better. Just know that she is with you always. My younger brother who passed away recently in a tragic accident told me something I'll always remember and cherish. I heard him tell me how sorry he was and that it was an accident. He said I'm the wind that blows, the trees that rustle, the green grass that grows, the flowers that bloom, and the waves that crash. I'm here with you always. Be kind to yourself on this personal journey called 'Grief'. Hugs and love from Texas.
Prayers go out to the family so sad for that Mom. That man doesn’t deserve bail he ignored the rules of the road and the school bus rules then he left the scene.
