Do you or your staff ever listen to your own videos? Surely you become annoyed at the background music as readily as your viewers do. It is obnoxious. And it is even louder than the lawyer speaking. Does that make sense? It's entirely possible that your video content creators just really like music. So do we. Just not loud and blocking the way of what is considered good audio content in service of delivering this type of material. We are not at a concert and we do not need mood setters. Thanks for hearing me out without my screeching sound at you.

I totally disagree with you. Based on the evidence she clearly had suffered a psychotic break. Unfortunately people need to have someone to blame for everything. Sometimes there is no one to blame. She had no history of violence. She was a good person who came from a good family. Her mother was her support system. The family, ALL of the family, not one deranged person, support her and have taken her for extensive testing, treatment and help which she has accepted AND responded to. So. I think you're wrong along with the others that need a pound of flesh.
@VEDMA00
@VEDMA00 Год назад
Attorneys are never fooled. They know the client did it, they just need to find a way to win the case, most times the evidence is so substantial, they know they will lose, so they try different tactics to see how they can win. They play a role and their job is to help the person have a fair trial, no matter what crime they committed.

@@princessmariposa828 yes the peeking through her fingers, and the pinafore dress, the giggling when her former teacher was on the stand. I know it is a common defense move, but really, she's no different than many of the other family annihilators that were tried for murder when they couldn't face parents after failing in school. Most of those were men, so they can't dress them up in clothes mean for young teens or have them peek through their fingers or giggle like a child. But they refer to them as younger than they are and I don't see how it is any different. In many respects this murder is more gruesome than many of the others that were committed with a gun.

And that's precisely what's wrong with this younger generation. Their parents coddle them from their consequences. My granddaughter is 6 years old and my daughter rarely disciplines her. She pitches a fit and her parents give in to her because they can't stand to hear her cry/whine, etc. I've tried telling my daughter that if she truly loves her and wants to be a good parent, she will give her boundaries and let her suffer the consequences of her actions. Now I'm not saying that my granddaughter will grow up to be like this Sydney. (At least I hope the hell not!) My daughter is not doing my granddaughter or herself any favors by coddling her. They are potentially creating a monstrously spoiled brat!
@blitzmom2674
@blitzmom2674 Год назад
@@deniece0821 society comes down on parents for disciplining their kids. We're creating a generation of narcissists IMHO. Entitled, ready to pitch a fit when someone says no to them, long into adulthood. And in this case the young woman erupted in rage that her parent was checking up on her lies. Her dad seemed checked out - didn't know how often she came home from college, obviously left the discipline to the mom. I thought it was telling that they had this app to tell them the families whereabouts and that the father deliberately left his phone at the office so his daughter wouldn't know he was coming home to surprise her -- what does that say about his suspicions about her? Not a lot of love or trust there. And she's not staying with Daddy, but with Grandma. I hope your granddaughter turns out okay.
@deniece0821
@deniece0821 Год назад
@@blitzmom2674 Thank you. I knew she was staying with the grandparents. Which I found off. Yes, I just found out about the father leaving his phone at work purposely so they didn't know he was on his way home. I'd really love to hear more from the dad. And you are correct, it isn't just parents it's our society in general that is too easy on kids. My granddaughter usually behaves herself when I have her or when I'm around. My daughter was blown away one time and said "How do you get her to listen to you and not throw a fit?" I told her it's because she knows I won't give in to her. The more she "protests" about something, the more I stand my ground. Also, if I warn her that there will be consequences if she does or does not do something, I follow through. Example: If I take her into a store with me and if she starts asking me for stuff, I say no and she pitches a fit, we WILL leave the store and she won't be allowed to go with me the next time. My daughter will buy her crap in the store because she will have a fit. My daughter has even said she buys her crap just to get her to stop because it embarrasses her when she does that in public. I told her that right there is exactly why she does it. She knows she will get her way. As far as caring what strangers think...who cares. Well, I don't mean let your child act a fool screaming in a restaurant but you know what I mean. 😉

The comment I found most convincing was the state's on how Sydney did not evince any odd or threatening behaviour shortly before the killing of her parent (Also, answering the phone in the middle of brutalizing your parent - yikes). From what I have read, there tends to be threatening, confused, dissociative, etc behaviours prior to full-blown schizophrenic violent attacks. For example "I was told to kill...", "she was an alien who was...", "where am I?" or "I've been given special powers..." but Sydney doesn't evince any of this; instead she hid what was causing her to be ashamed, her expulsion from school (both her parents have degrees and this is important). Her mother was going to explode the lie and Sydney lost it and tried to stop her. At that moment I think Sydney was overcome by her own shame and lashed out in a uncontrolled rage at the person who was going to expose it. I know she feels awful now, but suggesting rage is mental illness is a problem I think.

@@JustLikeJulia9, that’s not really much time deliberating for a day. You think perhaps they all agreed to a verdict but decided to go home, mull it over to make sure and sleep on it? Maybe the verdict will come early tomorrow if that’s what happened. Most judges would demand jurors deliberate longer than 6 1/2 hrs per day.

OMG you guy's, she is guilty. She tried to cover it up.. insane people don't cover their track's. She called back the school and pretended to be her Mom. Lied to her Dad. Tried to stage crime scene. Im pretty confused by the family. They better not cross her...might get clobbered.

She may not go anywhere. They only kept her at the psych hospital for a week. She has been out on bail. Wouldn't surprise me if they had her seen on an outpatient basis only saying now that she is medicated, she is no longer a danger to herself or others

She didn't just stab her. She hit her in the head with a cast iron skillet multiple time. Her life is over. She'd have a better chance for Guilty by reason of insanity. She won't be found NOT guilty. No chance.
@ellybean5868
@ellybean5868 Год назад
If she is found guilty by reason of insanity, she could go to a psychiatric facility for a few months, or not at all. They can argue that now that she is medicated, she is no longer a danger. She is out on bail now, and I would assume they would try to continue keeping her at home and she won't go anywhere. That is the point, saying she wasn't responsible, so she wouldn't go to prison at all and likely would be seen on an outpatient basis

She rage killed. Her mom and her most likely had an argument which led to her mom calling the school to confirm her suspicion and once she saw her mother actually on the phone about to figure it all out, she raged out. She is guilty. She slaughtered her. Not only hitting her with a cast iron but also stabbing her in the throat over and over. Thats pure rage not insanity.

Right?? She's risking her life sharing her home with the monster that brutally murdered her own daughter. The way she answered the prosecutor and the defence attorney with an enthusiastic "ABSOLUTELY!" whenever they asked about her being okay with Sydney living with her, as if it were no big deal that she viciously butchered her daughter....disturbing and odd to say the least.

6:53 Why is seemingly everybody interviewed buying "no other problems prior to this". She had problems: 1) A teacher testified that she managed to talk the teacher out of making her take a test by just 'screaming & crying" about not seeing the numbers...yet it was not significant enough reason to call a parent? We can call BS on that right there. Either the teacher was giving her a pass for 'bad girl behavior' - probably tossed it up to hormones or plain teenage stuff or the teacher didn't have the time for this just one incident. But the incident itself means there were problems. Were they psychological or merely behavioral, or even manipulative behavior? We do not know but something was already up. 2) Her dad seems caring enough, but certainly just not that involved in the intricacies of raising a teen daughter. Whenever a subject was outside his comfort zone he passed it off to Mom. 3) Again, a "soccer mom". We can't lump them all together but we've heard enough to know that some are very demanding and/or the opposite, forgiving and/or making up excuses for whatever. 4) A friend - even a cop friend - cannot know what goes on behind closed doors. Unless you are hanging out with a person or family on a regular basis, inside and outside of their home, you cannot know their full dynamics. PERIOD 4) Always take the "experts" with a salt shaker. Had the same folks been hired by the prosecution's side, they'd have adjusted the data they chose to use in order to fit the crime from a prosecutor's POV. 5) It was not "the bad grades" she was so ashamed of, it was also the lies she'd already been caught in by the administrators and the living on campus scenario and the covering it all up that her Mom was about to find out. 6) Maybe in the end she merely blamed her Mom for pushing her, after all - another possibility (a soccer Mom scenario). 7) The prosecution should have found more witnesses. I bet there were instances where she blamed others.
