Growing up, I always thought Mick was the coolest member in the bad, not because he was the lead guitarist, but because he always looked like he didn't have to put on a show and kept to himself. But I realized that the reason he had this mannerism was because of his disease. That's why he mostly played in one area, why he was always hunched over. Like he said, he literally has a curse and you can see it. Mick Mars is legend for continuing to play.
Mick puts everything he has into these shows....most people would have givin up..its not about the money either..he does it because he still loves playing
After learning some Crue songs on guitar, I'd have to say that Mick Mars is an underrated player. He's a minimalist when it comes to solos, but his riffs are always tasty and spot on!
Yeah man...I just started learning crue on guitar and it's no easy feat. His chords are a but more complex when shifting gears through the changes in the songs.
Omg he seems to be in so much pain. Always a professional. May he & his always be safe & well! Be Well Mick. You may not know it but everyone loves you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This sounds like something you hear on one of those obscure college radio stations at 2 am on a Friday night... Hard to tell if it's supposed to be music or a message from some extraterrestrial life form...
I've seen the Crüe many times during different era's. As far as Mick's solo's are concerned, the '94 tour with Corabi was by far my favorite! I saw them twice that tour and Mick only performed a solo during one of the shows I attended. He didn't do a lot of the experimentation like he does here, it was straight up bluesy rock guitar soloing at it's finest!! I'd always loved his ability to write great riffs, hooks, and album song leads, but that night, at the then Starplex in Dallas, Tx, I gained a whole new outlook and appreciation for Mick Marks 1313!
I’m a guitarist , 29 years old , I truly admire him , he is truly someone who can play a guitar ! Those who say he’s a bad player , are those who never played a guitar in their entire life 🤦♂️
The thing that's special about Mick is his ability to write memorable solos. He's an amazing slide guitarist. He's that sort of guitarist that will fill up a song with as Dimebag would say, "the full meal deal". There are amazing technically skilled guitarists who've surpassed the techniques and licks of yesterday by astronomical measures but .... Mick's riffs and solos til' this day, are meaty, nasty, gritty yet melodic and who does that anymore? \m/Mick Mars\m/
Everyone saying how bad of a guitarist he is doesn’t know anything about music. This is HIS style. He knows how to play guitar and play exceptionally well! What you see in this video is not what other known musicians do. That’s the point! The point is not to sound like other guitar players.
Plus he is a great riffer I was watching a recording . And thats the vince voice that make the thing more " pussying ". Just Mick riffs with Randy drums and stuff Its straight up heavy metal
@Mister Problematic Agreed. Mick Mars is Trash lol. I Play with my Left Hand only better then he with his 2 . He was just lucky To Be there backthen when Nikki Sixx was looking for a Guitarist. Right Time Right Place. Thats all.
Supernatural 9R oh my god. you're just disqualified to my with this. for the word, he is one of the best guitar players that ever lived. so shit the fuck up
@@supernatural9r406 he's definitely not a technical player, but he did write some killer riffs and he is playing in front of a huge crowd and has made millions on people rocking out to their music... On the other side, I'm glad your a better player than Mick.
I play guitar as a hobby. This is kind of cool, but I don’t think there’s much technique - it seems more guess-and-check jamming. Honestly I’ve seen better noisy, ‘experimental’ playing, but I’ve definitely seen worse too.
Unreal. Mick Mars is nearing the age of 70, did so may drugs back in the day, and has to deal with a terrifying back disease his whole life...YET HE STILL PLAYS GREAT. 🤘🏼
Anybody hating on this guitar solo, leave your name and phone number in the comment section because I wanna see and hear what amazing techniques on the guitar that would make you qualified to even say this solo was anything less than authentic.
Of course he's playing sloppy. That's to be expected with old age, not to even add what his condition has done. You gotta consider that he spent quite some time away from the instrument altogether, he was ready to succumb to his illness and the ensuing painkiller addiction for several years. And what comes to the claims that his condition doesn't affect his playing... Alexi Laiho said the same thing about his numerous drunken injuries, to which he later came out saying that they actually ruined him for good.
Mick Mars is a beast on the guitar! Can't discredit that! And he has his health issues and can go like that! This dude is amazing on the guitar for real!
#mickmars the most underrated #master #guitar player in the world. Definitely one of the greatest to ever Grace the stage. Or scare it away 🖤👿👹 #mickmars #livinglegend thx #nikkisixx #motleycrue for answering that newspaper add. If u hadn't, u non of us would be here. #mickmars
Technique isnt just 1000 notes per hour Its just playing fast but not necessary technical. Playing on moods is something not easy to be convincing and some out of the box things require technique . Its not because its out of the academic application that have not technique
Did she vomit when she saw it? This solo is god-awful. but I do like Mick when he's playing with the rest of the band. But his solos are just not good though.
never played an instrument, dont know the lyrics to any of there songs, just became a fan, but what i do know is...this is fucking MUSICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
Total respect for M.M. One of the best riff writers in the business, the man an identifiable style and attitude in his playing, what he may lack in technical efficiency he more than makes up for with character and the cool factor.....Rock on Mick 🤘
Mick’s guitar sound defined Motley Crue from the start. He is an awesome guitar player and it is obvious that he was just doing some experimental stuff with this solo.
This solo was mostly noise & speed picking. I don’t think Mick is a great guitarist, but I love what he does in the band, he’s created some very memorable riffs, & he’s integral to the Crue’s sound. I also always loved his look & his image. Don’t think he’s an awesome guitarist, but love what he does anyway
he's a much better blues player. Mick reminds me of that dude that has kick ass riffs, can play can play emotionally charged slow solo's but then being pressured into a roll he really didn't want, but had to fill. he's just not a hard rocker, he's a blues dude at heart. Hats off to ya Mick, you're a hell of a fighter.
If i have enough money i might see motley live in denver on aug 30 I really wanna see them especially mick. Mick seems like a nice laid back dude and a shredder on the guitar
