Try to play like this, and battle ankylosing spondylitis at the same time for decades when you’re in so much pain, and still have the balls to play a kickass solo. That’s why Mick Mars is a legend and always will be
He was in the same band for 35 years with a very degenerative disease... and played great... he has more talent on his worst day then you could muster in a lifetime... you couldn't do that sober and with some adderall... he did it drunk of his ass and in some pretty significant pain.... douch....
@@UroboricNate Mick has wrote a dozen or more of the greatest rock n roll riffs. Somehing like girls girls girls is as recognizable as smoke on the water
i always come back to this video. sometimes its fun to make noise. mick mars had the IT factor. no hes not a shredder but he has great tone, tons of attitude and balls to his playing.
Del seg 3.37 al 3.46 toca puro black metal...mejor guitarrista. Le daba a la guitarra un sonido nuevo y mega distorsionado..me gusta la guitarra rasposa de Mars
Fuck "cleanliness" and perfect technique and all of that jive. This is rock and roll and it's about "bringing it" by which I mean attitude and style. It's theatrics. Rock music is not about playing scales perfectly faster than anybody else, it's about playing like yourself and putting it out there.
Eh, it's Mick. Take it in context. No, he wasn't an accurate or articulate shredder. Yes, a lot of this is slop and noise, but Mick still kicked ass in many ways. Dude wrote some great riffs, the solos he put in Crue songs worked and his live guitar tone, in person, sounded like a freight train barrelling down the tracks. It was always fat and full. No, he wasn't a clean picker, but he made his mark and his style is recognizable. I still love the dude, even with a solo that sounds like a bunch of fretboard vomit like this one. I give him respect.
I agree with that perspective.. he made his mark in other ways.. just because he isn't fast or clean like Vai or Paul Gilbert doesn't matter.. his riffs and solos had a style and attitude..
@@TheMojaveCourier Mick Mars is one of my favorite players of all times, but I have no illusions about what he was or what he wasnt. That's why I said take him in context. He wasn't accurate like Vai or Gilbert, but he was raw and unique, and he did what he did well. You also have to consider that he was old by the time they were signed. My wife always jokes "He was 60 even back then." I admire him in many ways, but a shredder he wasn't, and that's perfectly okay. There's far more to being a good guitar player.
@My Opinion wheres you're videos ? Are you worth 40 million dollars ? Were you one of the most popular rockstars of your time ? While battling an incurable disease ? You're nothing kid. If you canr give respect where respect is due, then you're always going to be what you are now... nothing.
@My Opinion I can see you're even more useless then I first thought. Keep practicing kid, you may get a big break in your little life. Until then... fuck off.
Haha listen to the haters like you's could do any better u are the ones in u r council flat he is in his big house and made a fortune u have a fiat he has a Ferrari and fit as fuck wife wat do yous have lol pmsl😂😂😂
One the most underated Guitars Player. Mick Mars some of the fastest fingers around. To hear him play live he plays with such heart and soul. Long Live Mick Mars.
Everyone's on here talkin s*** LOL I don't care what you say Mick Mars is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Just remember while all your favorite guitars from the past are playing Fairgrounds and bars Mick Mars was selling out with Motley Crue at the largest venues in the world till the very last show js
The guy was the only guitar player in the band . Of course his solos are quick and short . Try filling everything in live by yourself . Mick was and still is awesome !!!
Can't believe people are here talking shit about mars.even in his 60's the guy will out play most in music today and all the shit talkers sitting home watching videos of the guy.when you wrote something that will be played forever or do something half as good he has then maybe you can say something.until then just sit home and watch what you'll never be
Sorry dude much respect to Mick but the dude's got a horrible disease he cant out play anyone anymore. He gets the utmost respect from me though going out there night after night guys definitely in a lot of pain but still trying to bring a good show. Unfortunately his days are behind him. I'm also not trying to shit talk anyone he was definitely one of the more interesting guitarist to come out of that genre and time period.
The black reflective guitar 🎸 was a gift to Mick from his wife it said”GIRLs” it was their secret he always said she was “my girl”😊❤xxxx his wife’s name was Diane says she fell in love with his big dark eyes 🥰 he dotes on her it breaks Diane’s heart ♥️ to hear him say he hasn’t got much time left to go it was his illness that tore them apart
I like Mick, but let's be honest here... Anybody with a basic knowledge of the fret board could play most of this. It's just a bunch of fast tremolo picking scale runs with a mix of a couple of improvisations included. Nothing special here. Not taking the piss out of him at all but what he just played is what most of us Guitar player hacks play every time we get drunk and pick up the guitar.
Man I would give anything to know what Nikki sixx said to Mick Mars at that moment. Mick Mars was every bit of motley Crue and without him motley Crue just completely sucks
I mean he is a good guitar player, but wtf is this😭on every album his guitar solos sound so clear and normal, this sounds like a bee and a 5 year old picking randomly on the guitar 😭😭😭
And for everyone saying that mick mars is over rated , just remember hes been battling ankylosing spondilitis . it got so bad that mick had to relearn how to play the guitar again. Now go ahead and tell me hes not thw best guitarist ever.
Syrian Sultan look man I am a huge fan of Mick and the Crue and I play guitar myself. I agree that he is VERY good and is one of my favorites but I wouldn’t go as far to say he’s “the best guitarist ever.”
I love Mick and he's a musical genius. He put out some legendary music but, from a technical perspective, he's only mediocre (at least relative to his peers).
