I have heard about people who use their factory XJ fuel pumps in their motobilt fuel cells, having problems with breaking pumps. This happened to me and I found out why and a potential way to avoid this issue going forward.
At the normal height. The factory xj pump is just about 11.75" tall from the mounting surface to the lowest part of the pump housing. The fuel cell has a height of 12". This .25" difference will allow the pump to separate causing your vehicle to have a no-start condition. In this video, we examine what happens and a hack to use the factory XJ pump and have the height exactly what is needed to prevent pump separation.

Lol. The effort to not hit panels is gone now. The goal now is to try bigger and harder things.

This is looks like a good fix to a problem I haven't heard of yet. I just received my motobilt cell. Do you recommend doing this on the initial install? How has it held up in the last 5 months?

Got my shirt from your shipper buddy. Starting a collection of favorite RU-vid merch 👍🏻 Ill be running RTI and this has me wondering if they make an adapter to run a 4.0 pump in it. Plan is now to use the evil energy system I bought.

Sweet man!!! Thanks for repping the channel. I'm not as familiar with that brand of cell. I have used Evil Energy on a few things and like their stuff. Decent price and quality. Only time will tell.

Typo 😆 RCI tank pickup/cover looks similar to yours. If you get bored you can swing by the channel if you wanna judge my Comanche build later 🤪 I'll have to do a video when I set up my fuel system.

@@BlackAndBlueGarage I figured it was an RCI, but with so many companies out there, it's hard to be sure. I'll swing by and check out the build

I'd be honored. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and be safe out there; great point about doors and safety, it's got me thinking.

Wow. I lost count on how much I have into this build. It's been going on now for nearly 5 years. The only portion I had a breakdown for is the axle swap. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t7HuNPDsdOk.html There is definitely a lot of sweat equity in it.
