Just a quick video on how we can hear dad at all times and treat bed sores. Sorry for not responding to comments RU-vid has changed everything around and won't give me the option to respond. I will try to figure it out, for now keep posting and I will be in touch ASAP :)

Keep going strong man. It isnt easy but you seem to be a good guy. After watching your videos its really is different to find someone who has gone through exactly what happened to me and the stages of MND. Just need to take it one day at a time.

Thanks very much, it's tough but like you said the best way to do it is to take each day as it comes. Every day seems to bring something new and challenging. Wishing you all the best buddy

we used sheepskin too, and for pressure sores which are tricky my mum made little doughnut shapes with soft foam covered in silky material for hip, ankle and knees. We bought a strip of lambskin for the bed from mobility and mum sowed a bit more material on each end so we could tie it around the mattress so it would not move. love your video diary's you are an amazing young man, I would be very proud of you if you were my son. and i know your parents must feel this too xxxx sending support love and strength to carry on xxxxxx

Thank you Debbie :) seems RU-vid sorted out their issues so I think I can reply to messages now, have missed being able to respond! seems we do similar things to prevent the bed sores, we've found lately that dad is getting sores under his nose from his oxygen mask so just need to work out a few ways around that. It seems to be a never ending battle! Thank you for the kind words as always :) I hope you are all well, sending my love to you and your family xxxxxxxx

Ben Terry yes there is always issues with one thing and another, finding solutions to problems ! has dad got the mask that covers just nose and mouth ? Steve had this one,at one point the bridge of his nose was so sore and deep it was difficult to heal, but we used a piece of silver dressing and thin plaster on top,and did some other things to the mask, always thinking of you all, and know what you are going through, you are doing so well as a family, just remember you are doing the best you can for Dad, and at the end of the day you will draw comfort from knowing that you were there for him, sending you a big hug and kiss xxx

Debbie Freeman Dad did have the mask that covered the mouth and nose but now he has one which just attaches to his nose. The sores look pretty bad but he rarely complains, being as strong as he is. Sorry for the late replys these days stupid RU-vid doesn't tell me when I get a message any more so I never know until I go on the laptop and check the videos. Hopefully they will sort it soon! I hope you are all well thanks for the support :) sending my love to you and the family xxxx

Ben Terry hi Ben, no problem about the late replies, i try and check your response but sometimes the time goes by and i forget to look.I have been christmas shopping with my niece, she is doing so well.Missing her dad is tough for a 9 year old, but Trev my husband tries to bridge the gap for her,.because we did a lot with her when Steve was still around she feels special when we both do things with her.Ask the district nurse for silver dressing it was amazing how quickly it heals, with a plaster over the top to keep it in place. When the nurse saw Steve's nose she said it would never heal and after a couple of days you could see the results, amazing.Every little thing that does work makes you feel at least we can solve some problems. How on earth is your Dad managing to keep going ?what a struggle they go through for another day to be with their loved ones, our hero's, well take care of each other, as always sending you strength, love and always thinking of you all, knowing exactly what you are going through xxxxxxxxxxx

Debbie Freeman Hey Debbie, I hope your Niece had a good day it must have been extremely tough for her especially at such a young age, but it's fortunate she has people as caring and wonderful as yourself and Trevor to help her. Thanks so much for the advice on Silver Dressing, I will mention that to the family and nurses ASAP and hope that it works :) Dad's struggling but is insanely brave. We're so glad he's made it to Christmas to share it with us, that's all I wanted this year to be honest. Thanks so much for the advice and kind words, I hope you and all your family are doing well, your niece is very fortunate to have yourself and Trev with her and I hope she is holding up okay. Sending my love to all of you :) xxxxxxxxxxx
