This time I'm exploring the Valley of the Rocks whilst motorcycle camping. It was a lovely ride up through the Porlock and Countisbury hills, and finally arriving at the very scenic valley of the rocks. I climbed to the peak of the steep formations, where I setup up my cooking set and began frying my bacon and sausages. It was a really nice day of winding roads, camp food and the perfect spot to pitch my tent. Thanks for watching!

That area your in Frazer was nicknamed “Shittycomeout” by the Bristol Channel Pilots because of the wind which funnels down from the valleys and out into the Channel, it was always an area they would watch for when the headed west seeking for ships in their pilot cutters. I’ve sailed past that area many times and was always told the story from the older men for my village.. Over 500 years of history and up until recent years all the pilots lived in Pill, Somerset and it was a Pill man who piloted John Cabot down the Avon on the Matthew in 1497... Another great video Frazer and most of your vids have something in common with me, camping and motorbikes!

Another good vid Frazer. Next time, stop in the car park on your left as you came through Lynmouth. Take a rucksack and walk up the river on the path to Watersmeet National trust cafe. Its about a 3 mile walk through spectacular woodland and river scenes. You can stop and swim or cook. Have a cream tea at the cafe where three rivers converge then back to Lynmouth for fish and chips in the harbour. P.S. could you buy a bigger bottle of tomatoe sauce?

Hi Frazer, i've watched all of your vids and i only suggest things I'm sure would interest you. The walk up the river Lynn is steeped in history of flooding, washed away villages and long forgotten lime mines. You can read about it as you walk. The other suggestion I made was for you to visit Avebury ring at Devizes. As you have already done Glastonbury, Avebury is the next point joined by Silbury Hill on the ancient Pilgrims way of Britain. It follows the Micheal and Mary 'way' lines that the Druids called the lines of power. As I love motorcycling and History i often try to combine the two. Ride safe.

@@dutydruid9375 Thank you very much, I really appreciate all of your suggestions. I to have an interest in history, more specifically in old forts, seaside towns, canals, and structures. Avebury sounds like a great day out, and definitely one to add to my list. Thanks again, and always look forward to your comments!

Brilliant video buddy. I can't get enough of motorcycle camping videos. Your food always makes me hungry. In a couple of weeks I'm going camping on the wildbad weekender 2019. Organised by youtubes Richy Vida. Have you heard of him? After that I'm hoping to have a crack at the nc500. Then if I survive I really fancy France and Spain. The thing I like about your videos is that it's not all bike travelling down road footage. I do like to see camp setup and cooking. Thanks for your hard work. All the best. DD

Who needs Scotland when you got scenery like this in southern England, sheer rugged beauty. Down side of if it wild camping not strictly legal, but hope you had a pleasant night. Your ninja sounded amazing btw
@manonamountain

That's the problem in England, "GET ORF MOY LAAAND", always some miserable bastard wanting to put a spoke in your weekend away, whereas in Scotland, as long as you're not harming anyone,or bothering livestock etc the folk up there seem happy to just let you get on with it.

If that had been me, the wind would of blown the whole bloody lot off them rocks, and then it would of pissed it down. Still that toll road is worth checking out. Great video.

The Porlock toll road was well worth the £1.50 but the scenery was rather distracting for a bike rider hahahahahah! Great little trip Frazer.

enjoyed that mate, do you wear motorcycle pants/riding boots or just regular jeans and runners? how is it with the camping rucksack on your back whilst riding?
@motorbikeway
@motorbikeway 5 лет назад
Thanks very much! I usually wear armoured Dimex riding pants, but they got soaked the night before my trip. On this occasion I wore normal jeans. I always wear trainers on the bike, but definitely looking to invest in a good pair of riding boots. When carrying the rucksack, I tend to put all the heavy stuff in the top box, and reload the backpack when I arrive at the destination. Thanks for your comment!

Frazer, that's some view at 19.13, seen it myself a couple of times when I have done that ride and camp in that part of my county. I'm from South Devon and it's such a big county that I don't often venture to the north, I should make more of an effort!

Thanks! The locations are usually picked at random, and 75% of the time I will explore a location before going back and making a video. The last time I visited Valley of the Rocks was almost 10 years ago, I found an old picture and made a last minute decision to go camping there. All the best!
