Motordyne Mrev2 review for 350z/ G35 or any Vq35de motor

In this video, I'll show you the difference between the Motordyne Mrev2 lower plenum and the stock plenum, also how to tell if you have one on the 350z or G35 you purchase. The Motordyne Mrev2 is one of the best bolt on's you could add to your naturally aspirated Vq35de Revup adding power gains to the midrange. If you have a non Revup motor or an automatic vehicle this bolt-on won't benefit much.

Well finally somebody did it! awesome comparison, if you had a rev up lower plenum side by side to the regular DE and MREV2 i wonder what it would show and differ.

Dang that be a good comparison for all three, and thanks for watching. I also have the comparison of the stock upper intake to the kinetix upper intake.

@latenightgarage7895 so the video u have when u painted underneath the plenum ... that motor is rev up so this could very well be the right comparison unless the stock plenum in this video was non revup

good content! I just watched a dyno review of the mrev2 on an '03 DE and it only made +1 HP. but they already had the upper plenum so those two together help with air flow but it's mostly the upper plenum that makes power on the older DEs. The lower intake doesn't give good results for the cost.

That's bc the mrev2 is the old vq35de lower plenums which the 03 already had, best thing would be a Kinetix upper intake and possibly a spacer. You should check out the holley high ram intake for the vq35de it looks crazy, kinda like a v8 intake set up but you have to actually use GM parts.

MREV2 manifolds are non rev up manifolds that have been ported/polished slightly. Definitely not worth the money, you can do this yourself by using a dremel tool with sanding sponges + sand paper.

Could, but at the time, I didn't wanna order or find one to do that to.

I have a standard de 350z 2005 enthusiast, some reason it already had an MREV2 but previous owners did not modify it at all.. not sure why I have an mrev2

They changed the lower plenums in the 06 and 07.

I hope to get a reply, is it worth it putting the lower plenum of the Rev-up on a non rev-up DE ? Will it improve the power curve at high rpm ? I already have a 5/16 spacer for the upper plenum

I don't think it would at all, the reason being that the Rev-up has short runners and that's the reason for installing the Mrev2 which is the same intake as a non Rev-up but with a little but of polish work. If you have a non Rev-up motor I would not waste money on a Mrev2 plenum bc it won't make a difference, but a great parts to install is a Kinetix V+ upper intake, it adds alot of intake volume and removes the 6 bolts that can mess with the flow of air into the runners. Check out the video I have on the Kinetix V+ intake compared to the stock.

Can this be installed in a non rev up engines?

Yes you can, but it's actually the same as the non Rev Up plenum just a little bit shaved. They have longer runners than the Rev Up motor plenums, so if you were looking to improve some power get the Kinetix V+ upper intake plus the 75 mm TB if your looking for more power. OH and if you add headers it helps alot.
