Thanks for the good info. Another way to revive the pressed down carpet is a steam iron or wet a wash colth & a standard iron then use a vacuum to fluff it up.

Always look forward to your expertise Jason. Probably wont remember most of it because I already have an earlier set up ( which I don't really understand at the moment) However, this info is invaluable in regards to the general usage of a Lowrance trolling motor ( mine is the riptide version and I know nothing about it but all knowledge helps). Thank you Jason. I will probably take you up on that offer.But for now, I have my children and grandchildren coming over on hols for a month and my granddaughter will be taking over my 'office' room.. I will be checking up on your videos (unless she decides otherwise). 5 of them taking over the house while we go sleep in our caravan.Things we do for our kids lol. A little followup.. Thanks to your video I purchased the Uterra, the 4 battery charger and a host of other stuff. It took a little longer than you. Ha Ha, but all went very well. I used to work for a retail store and we sold lowrance, garmin, humming bird, and simrad. From spending hundreds of hours of playing around with all of them and hearing customer reviews, Lowrance and Simrad > Garmin > hummingbird

I have a 15ft gregor I just restored .. I'm putting an xi3 on it when it arrives in the mail.. not sure what lowrance fish finder I'm gonna put on ... was thinking about the.. live model.. it's 1200 bucks .. looks like it has some pretty awesome features .. the t2 model looks cool too tho. I'm still learning about fish finders .

I watch all your how to videos, Great job. I have a chirp 7 si, now looking for an ulterra. I know I want a 60 in. 24 volt, but not sure of all the rest of the gadetry. There are several models. Communication with the chirp would be good I think. Oh one more thing sometime in the future I might buy a 12 in. hummingbird.

Gary M thanks for watching the channel! I appreciate it.. so if you’re eventually be getting a humminbird 12 I would say you want to get a ulterra with built in DI or even SI .. but that all depends on where you are mounting the fish finder.. if it’s in the bow then yeah absolutely.. if your are mounting it on the console then what ever ulterra would be fine.. the regular one with the us2 built in transducer.. they all will have I -pilot the link portion of a Minn Kota only lets you link the gps part of the trolling motor and the fish finder.. ie. waypoints and following depth contours if you buy the maps chip.. a lot of info.. so let me know if you have any questions.. thanks again for watching

I checked.. over 150 boats! I think I might try to hit Oroville for Kings! Never tried it and don’t want to be out there when that many boats looking for the good spots.. sturgeon will have to wait.. there is a keeper out there with my name on it!

Xi3 to Lowrance with that cable that comes with it. Never saw that happen. That's what I needed to see. Also, what was that black panel thing you installed under the trolling motor? And what keeps it on? You did not explain that either.

does the Pinpoint GPS use the trolling motor or the transducer GPS location? I have a Ti2 9" and have transducer on back of boat so if I hit lock on Xi3 which location does it lock on. Thanks for the videos!

Thanks for the video and the info. If I buy the nmea 2000 link and the gateway kit for the 9 ti, will it be able to follow a contour ? Ive had a tough time finding any info on that. Thanks !

Unfortunately no .. the only thing capable of doing that is a minn kota with a i pilot link and a humminbird helix or solex G2 or G3N .. let me know if you have any questions love to help .. thanks for watching

When you drop the trolling motor does it point directly towards the front of your boat, or does it keep the angle you drop it at?

I am planning on buying a similar setup. The Ti2 9 and a 12v Xi3 with GPS. Been wondering if I can hook up a Xi5 straight to the Ti or it will require the NMEA2000 backbone kit.

I have concerns about zip tying the transducer cables to the red power wires in the stern- won’t that cause interference. They recommend not to and to run separately in isolation if possible correct?

Robert Moriarty that is in the case of running the power wire with a trolling motor power wire or engine power .. not its own power..

It can if you have a nema 2000 backbone and the Xi3 with pinpoint GPS and buy the pinpoint gps gateway ..and have a lowrance elite Ti or HDS

So I want to use this exact set up with a 60” shaft which is only available with a GPS/sonar transducer. I want to use the 3 in 1 transducer that comes with the ti2 which has only one transducer input. Will the the motorguide xi3 still work with the GPS functions if I can’t plug in the transducer? The only other trolling motor with GPS only functions only offers a 54” shaft.

I will have one Ti2 9" at my steering console, and one 7" at front like yours. Do I need to buy c-map for both units, or could I share the map between the devices? Also I Will need to use two transducers, I suppose there is one build into the Xi3 or, is it just gps in that? I don't know how to set up the best way. I wan't to be able to record my lakes, and that would be easiest with my gasengine. I hope you understand what I mean. (swede). Maybe I should just go for the one 9" unit and swivel it around and maybe just buy the Xi3 or Xi5 and settle for just one lowrance unit. There is a kit that comes with the lowrance ti2 7" and xi3, and nmea 2000 hence the question

Thanks for watching! If they are Ti2 units they will share mapping and Gps data as well a basic 2D sonar wireless.. but not any structure.. so you would only really need the one transducer.. because the built in trolling motor transducer is only 2D anyway.. make sure the xi3 has pinpoint gps there are some cheaper models that are only wireless but not gps.. I believe all xi5 models have it.. but just make sure.. let me know if you have any questions about it.. thanks again for watching the video and hope you like the channel! Tight lines 🎣

Great install. I have the 9ti and am looking at a front mount trolling motor for my 16 ft aluminum with a 25 hp outboard. I've seen mixed reviews on the spot lock for the xi3. I won't be using a foot pedal. What is your experience now with it? Will my 2yr old ti9 exchange data to this motor for map contour type travel? Thanks Bret, Utah.

Thanks glad you liked it.. so to link a motorguide to the Ti .. you will need a nmea 2k backbone starter kit .. also the motorguide nmea gateway.. and to my knowledge it wouldn’t follow contours like a minn kota and a humminbird can.. really all it does is patterns and control the steering and navigate to a waypoint.. not things worth it in my opinion.. as far as the spot lock.. the boat would be able to spin around on the point where you locked .. like the earlier version of the i pilot minn kota like I have.. they now have a heading sensor separate from the trolling motor that Communicates the boats position to the trolling motor which allows for an accurate spot lock.. let me know if you have any questions about anything.. thanks for watching

You’re very welcome.. no if you want to adjust while on spot lock you have disable it to do so.. I don’t have a humminbird I find the the i pilot remote does everything I would ever need.. the only thing that hooking it to the trolling motor allows is following the contours.. and for me that is not really helpful at all.. if you want to have your sonar hooked to the trolling motor.. and you would like a more advanced sonar then universal 83/200 htz you would need a humminbird and get a trolling motor with mega di (down imaging) or si (side imaging)

Great video, really helpful! I just picked up the Elite 9 Ti and I'm wondering it the Xi3 will work with it? The reason I ask is anything I've seen so far recommends the Xi5 but gives no reason for it. Would be nice if I could save a couple of bucks with the Xi3 if it will do the same thing and not lose any features. Thanks so much for the help!

Awesome glad you like the video.. so you can you just need to find one with the “pinpoint” connection then you will need the pinpoint gateway and a nmea 2k backbone starter kit.. it will let you use the lowrance ti to control some of the gps trolling motor functions.. but in my opinion it’s not really worth the extra cost for what it can do.. I would just use the remote with the trolling motor just make sure you get a gps model.. the xi3 also doesn’t come with a foot pedal if that matters to you.. let me know if you have any questions anytime.. thanks for watching

Does this Ti2 talk to motorguide trolling motor wirelessly or would need that NMEA kit to control the trolling motor from ti2 screen ?

You would need the model with pinpoint GPS and would need the nmea2k backbone starter kit and the motor guide pinpoint gps gateway to network them together.. let me know if you have any questions.. thanks for watching

Hey man quick question- I thought the Xi-3 had a built in transducer compatible with this fish finder unit. Does it not? If so- is there a reason for mounting an additional transducer?

This one he wanted the unit at the back of his boat and to use the total scan transducer off the transom.. some of the xi3 do come with built in transducers.. but they only use 2D standard sonar.. and require an additional adapter cable to go into the ti’s structure port.. let me know if you have any questions and thanks for watching!

I believe so 12v is 12v .. only thing I know different about the lithium batteries are you have to have a lithium charger for them .. other than them being way lighter and the way they discharge.. they will last longer without them dropping off.. but they are expensive.. I have yet to install any and I don’t personally know anyone who has them yet.. thanks for watching.. let me know if you have any questions

Don't know about this trolling motor but i have 2 of the xi5 both of them spot lock, gps has went out in both of them! Don't buy these motors!! The foot controller also went out on both!! Not worth it!!!😢
