@joshuaV honestly, I would really like HTC to make a comeback. Looks like they have a midrange phone (HTC u24) also it'll be nice if these phone come with a 2:1 aspect ratio instead of this weird 9:22.5 stuff. I wouldn't mind the old 16:9. But that's probably just me. Lol, we'll nice chatting. I do enjoy your tea time and your videos, thank you for the uploads and inspiring all to do good.
Exactly what I was thinking. That was the main reason I bought the phone....three years of updates I believe but still no android 14 yet. Just the security patch updates
@@roytullison3537 Well if they're taking their sweet time with Android 14 Android 15 might come in... 2026 or never. Google and Samsung are doing a much better job in terms of OS updates.
In waiting for a company to just have two separate glass screens that meet in the middle at a super close tolerance to reduce the the appearance of it being two screens. Where the two screens meet when open doesn’t have to be protected much because it will only be exposed when opened. I just can’t get behind a plastic inner screen.
Watching this on my Razr+ 2023. Sadly, I won't be upgrading. Motorola is a terrible company and it's a tug-of-war game trying to get them to honor their warranty and replacement policy. Still, love the video!
I'm leaving the Apple ecosystem for this phone. I've got an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I'm bored of it, so I can't wait to get this and actually have fun using a mobile phone again. The only downside is the camera doesn't look anywhere near as good as the iPhone to me, so it might be an annoying qualm to have to live with.
That RAZR has been truly disappointing - Since January FW update, have to open the phone to use Google Assistant properly, and Moto is not even committing to fix this critical user-function, despite still advertising that Assistant can be used with the phone closed. It is a serious defect for a phone that promotes usability when closed. The Lenovo/Moto/RAZR support/discussion board shows how little Moto is taking any responsibility of a broken feature Moto specifically promotes. Moto RAZR... outrageous you have to open the phone to use Google Assistant, awkward, not as advertised, more wear on the hinge and screen fold... since Jan '24 - still that way in July - that 25% of a phone's typical use life a critical SW function is broken. Great idea, but someone dropped the ball on this critical function.
Always A+ videos! I like the bigger cover screen! To answer your tea break: Also I'm hoping to get back into journaling and reading about a chapter of a book before bed.
Sounds like Apple with iOS 18 and not releasing their AI to Europe due to privacy rules this year instead of agreeing Apple would rather just not release the function so we are only getting the basic IOS 18 updates this year according to lots of RU-vidrs and u.s press. Really pissed just got the new 15 pro max to. No big company cares about their customers only profit and while the mass are happy with the basics they get away with screwing us over.
I've seen a couple of your vids and really like the presentation! Looking forward to your full thoughts on the Razr vs. Razr+ as I'm narrowing down options for a VERY long overdue phone upgrade. I'm leaning Razr+ for the bigger outer screen, which I would use the majority of the time having small hands. Wondering how noticeable the difference is btwn the Snapdragon/Mediatek chips for an average user though, and whether video smoothness has improved since last year's Razr.
I got last year's model in 2023, and I'm still using it and loving it. ❤ I would say that I'm starting to notice some scratches along the crease because of where I place my thumb when I'm using it. It's not a huge issue, but I just wanted to let people know that if you get this phone without an additional screen protector, that might be a problem. My fingernail always scratches the center crease whenever I'm scrolling. It's not terribly noticeable, but I was just hoping it would last a little bit longer without any scratches, at least over a year. Just a good word of advice to people who want to get one. 👍🏻
You can remove and replace the original screen protector, just be extremely cautious. I bought my razor 40 ultra from eBay months ago and the previous owner removed the original screen protector, there wasn't any scratches on the screen so I just bought a inner/outer screen protector kit from eBay (I believe super shields brand) and it was really tricky to line up but it went on pretty smoothly. If you get bubbles don't fret much, as long as the screen has no dust under it, tiny bubbles should settle and disappear after a few days. Don't try to push out all of the tiny bubbles with too much force because you could mark up the screen. I installed mine and there were a few tiny bubbles in it for about 3 days or so and they settled and then it was 100% bubble free. People don't even notice that I put a screen protector on it at all and I've had it installed for months and I don't notice any scratches on the inner screen protector, but the outer screen protector has taken a bit of a beating (and that's what it's there for lmao) but it still cleans up nice. It's not really scratched but you can see some pressure marks on it but they're barely noticable. I put mine in a poetic Spartan case also and I really like how solid it feels
They're actually decent I think they're borderline good. Video is trash until software update comes... Could never come lol. 1080 60 is OK, 4k30 is meh, 60, nope. It's just choppy af.
Why cant y'all "tech reviewers EVER just do the base version of things?!?! so glad that this time there really isn't a difference between the two models.....
as much as i like tge new look of the razr, i missed how smooth and clean the razr5g would open, it just felt so cool. i didnt like the 2023 razr bc of this reason alone. i hope the hinge on the 2024 model brought back that smooth spring loaded hinge.
Very curious about Action Mode. I want to know if it increases the shutter speed enough to catch moving kids or dogs. When I went from Pixel to Galaxy this has been a big issue.
Is this new RAZR + is really better than last year model? I am asking especially about the quality of photos and videos, and the hinge which did not hold well in last year's model... I'm wondering whether to go back to iPhone (buy 14pro) or replace it with a new Motorola RAZR +
Its a good phoje but unfortunatley mine always seems to freeze when zooming in on the back camera on snapchat. Anyone know how to fix this?!! Would really appreciate any tips or if anyone else is having the same problem?
They stop providing software updates after 18 months or so. I would only buy this under the AT&T Next plan where I can upgrade to another device after 1 year.
Thanks for the great video. I like the use of Samsung dex on my note 10+, been wanting to switch to a flip phone, but since zflip doesn't support it. When you make a more in detailed video about the razr+ could you please touch on smart connect.
QUESTION! Does it come with UWB? If not it won’t work well with the new MotoTag’s. Which is kind of a miss. Also… UWB is a nice feature for using your phone as a car key.
Live photo/motion photo? I find it odd we rarely hear about this function on Android phone. It's given Samsung has it, but for anything other Android phone, it is harder to tell if they have them. When you have a toddler, have the option to re-frame a photo is such a gem!
I really wish, with phones like these, they would remove the selfie camera. You can now take selfies with the main camera, and even do video calls with the external screen. I suspect it would bother me far more often with full screen video, than I would miss it.
It does! Lenovo/Moto rebranded it to Smart Connect though, so it just goes by a different name now. But it's right there in the quick settings notification panel
I still cannot see why you would buy this over an S24, which can be had for a lower price (than base RAZR) and is far better. It also has a small footprint, superior cameras, longer software support (2X), better display, etc. If you need to prop it up, get a case with a stand! The S24 has less chance of breaking and will hold its value better. It is a lifestyle choice, more a statement than buying the better phone, so that is fair enough, but...
It doesn't fold. I just want a phone that will fit anywhere. I also don't care for selling phones or regular upgrades - I run mine into the ground (6 years usually).
First time viewer, and subscribed. It was frankly a very pleasant watch, you took things at a pace and perfect amount of content I like since you let the device speak for itself multiple times instead of having an overall sense of things that you wanted to communicate instead!
