It would have been a really good idea as well considering the Ford rangers are fairly reliable and the 4.0L V6 would have plenty of power. The crew cab Toyota tacomas didn't even have a 4L at the time and they're 3.4l V6 had enough power
@@threewheelerdonuts8284 I agree too. But crew cab's were not that popular when the Ranger was redesigned, followed by the fact that Ford let the model run all the way from 98 to 11 shows that they would rather leave it alone then to do another update before its discontinuation.
I would’ve bought a Dodge Dakota without second thought but if I had to choose between these I would’ve got the Toyota. The Chevrolet with its fisher price/ rubber made interior I wouldn’t have even considered.
