There are thousands of us who still treasure our Generation Three (2005 - 2012) Avalons. Unless you own one, you don't realize just how great they are. No matter what other cars I've added to the stable over the years, I've kept and will keep, this one!
This is my favorite generation of Avalon. Especially the 2010-2011 facelifted ones. I remember seeing full page print ads in MotorTrend and Car&Driver magazines I used to read in high school. “Live the spacious life! Travel Avalon Class”
I just love this car. We purchased an '05 Limited in that same dark red since new. It has just 167k miles and it has NEVER failed us. It looks ragged out right now, cosmetically, because mom doesnt really look after it as exceptionally well as dad used to when he owned it the first 12 years of its lifespan, but hear me out when I say that to this very day, the car still runs and drives like a top and it requires very few repairs and maintenance to keep it that way.
The titanium one in the review was the same as mine. Best car I ever owned! Had it for 15 years and zero issues. Until that is, the AC evaporator went. No one would fix it as the whole dash would have to come out. I replaced it with a RAV4 but I still miss my old Avalon.
I'm so disappointed they didn't do a bench in this gen. I have the 2nd with buckets and I wish it had the bench! It's great if you have dogs and the buckets have no bolstering anyway!
I kind of wanted to one day own an Avalon. Toyota reliability, but one step above a basic Camry! Lol Too bad Toyota decided to kill off the Avalon when all it needed was new technology. Would’ve been nice to see it as a plug-in hybrid with AWD for the icy winters.
It was still such a dull, bland looking car despite JD's praise of its updated styling. A very good car, no doubt, and it would be hard to make the case for the Lexus version other than badge prestige (and styling)
@@joepearlzz8504 transmission had to be reflashed 3 times because of horrible downshifting. Sunroof had to be repaired because it was stuck open. Tpms had to be repaired. Infotainment screen went blank. A piece of outside window trim on driver side rear window fell off while driving. The VVT-I oil supply line failed and the car lost almost all it's oil. Not one warning light came on to let me know. Thankfully I caught it before It did any major engine damage.
