I just bought a 2011 Ram Big Horn Quad Cab and although I was a bit skeptical...I LOVE IT! The coil spring rear is SMOOTH and this truck is amazing! Oh...and I sell Chevy's for a living and while the new Chevy's are awesome trucks this Ram hangs right with the new BowTie in every respect.
Its crazy to thing that in the modern age, there are still vehicles with long production lifes, this gen is only just now being stopped in 2023, 14 model years of production, 15 actual years. There will be plenty of parts for these to come
I love it. Made the switch from GMC/Chevy trucks when I bought my '03 Ram. Have been very happy and will never go back to GM. Ford is just out of the question all together.
I disagree, the 09 Ford and Dodge are practically identical except the Dodge has way more power and better ride. I got a 09 Ford 250 SuperDuty with a V10 and my 96 Ram 2500 V10 has already beaten it in reliability. The F250 broke its tailgate the very first day of work with 8 sheets of cheapo sheetrock and I have had it back to the dealership 4 times now for replacement and not even to 20k yet. The stock tires are shit on snow as well. Wish I had paid more for the Ram!
I bought a 2009 Ram and its the best vehicle I ever had. I tried out Chevy Silverado's,GMC Sierra's,Ford 150's,the Ram was just superior. You don't want to butt heads with a Ram. You'll end up with one heck or a headache and a bruised ego.
rlta04 lol any f150 5.0 or modern 2014 silverado is a way better truck than ram. Pay load pulling and power along with reliability goes to ford. Ram is garbage you can only sell one cause of the lifetime power train warranty and there rebates. Between the rams drive train, cam, electrical , and oil pump issues there a lemon
Alex Levy you mean dodge trucks and cars fill the junk yards. Them trucks are trash poor oil pumps, electrical issues, typical shit drive train list goes on fiat trucks suck
i have a 2000 dodge durango with a 5.9 and ilove it. 107,000 miles on it and it runs great. some day i will have a ram like this one. ooh and before i was allways a gm man
Like the earlier poster, while the coil springs may make the ride better, that is not good for a utility vehicle for someone other than truck lifestylers. For me a truck's priority is utility and towing and payload are a big factor. The leaf spring is a plus for ride but at a great price on utility. They boast the 9100lb towing but that is a mid-point on Fords. Considering the thirsty engines, fewer gears and light duty towing without towing electronics in a comprehensive format- NA Ford is #1.
The reason this 4th generation RAM sells well is because of the improvement of the transmissions like the 6 speed and 8 speed not just for fuel efficiently but for durability and towing capabilities plus the aggressive exterior styling and high grade quality interior that's smoothly laid out and about that HEMI 5.7?....... despite not having the output of the Ecoboost and 6.2 ecotec3 LT V8, but DAMN it show can produce the power whenever you need it on highway and trailering (with the 3.92 axle of course) plus the mpgs is excellent while towing with tow/haul mode on seem way more efficient than unladen. And I own a 2012 express 5.7 3.92 2wd 6 speed auto quad cab nicknamed Redbull. But still want a Silverado while keeping my RAM and may buy another 4th gen RAM but with 4x4.
I just bought a 2009 1500 last year to use as junk hauler. I definitely got the base model, mine doesn’t have any of those “creature comforts” he talked about. Also it’s definatley rusting out. 😢
@77NavySEAL77 The Hemi is well suited for the truck due to the high torque output and lower revs but for a sedan/coupe a smaller package would be better. I mean the 300C gets smoked by a Lexus GS350 with a V6.
All you haters! Do your homework!! If you can't even afford a truck, don't make stupid comments on things you know nothing about! They went with coil springs because you aren't hauling shit 24/7! Nobody does that. And rear end hop is annoying as hell. Before you rag on shit you don't know about, stop somewhere and drive one. I've owned all 5 major truck brands and I make the body panel steel for all 5. I've had good luck with them all except FORD and I've had 2 of them. So go test drive them an
No. Thats supposed to be for gas mileage. Who cares about what a bunch of tree huggers has to say about a truck. And dodge does this because it has the power to do it.
@77NavySEAL77 Lol nope I don't like the Chargers or Challengers, they don't have the technology under the hood like many other imports do. If I was a buyer I wouldn't want to spend my money on something imports were able to accomplish over a decade ago. Again though, Dodge trucks are absolutely amazing. My uncle owned an 89 Ram for his lawn care business with the 5.9 V8 and it ran the road with ease.
Dodge Ram Voted best new pick up Dodge Ram has been outselling ford & chevy since 2009 Dodge Ram has the highest consumer rating out of all half ton pick ups Dodge Ram Hemi Voted top ten Best engines in production CASE CLOSE Ram-Ford & Chevy Better luck next time
OBrechkin I don't know where you go your facts but the f150 has been the best selling truck in America for more than 30 years straight. And news flash, it still is
@hpsheff oh really? how about the nissan gt-r, the subaru wrx sti, the mitsubishi lancer evolution, the honda nsx type-r, the toyota supra turbo, the mazda rx-7 twin turbo, and the nissan 300zx turbo? are you telling me these cars have no balls? because a lot of these cars outsell and outperform their domestic competitors. a nissan gt-r, for example, will blow the doors off of a corvette zo6.
I don't like Dodge cars but Dodge trucks are the best ever, especially the models available with the Cummins diesel. None of that Powerjoke shit for me please.
i hate to say this but i don't like the new Dodge Ram... i just don't like how it looks and i would still think that it wouldn't give much room in the truck...
US V12's? Umm...not quite. V8's, yes. 10's, not even, 12's? No. Viper = V10 GT40 = V8 Corvettes = V8 American staples usually are V8's Aston Martins = V12's nowadays Carrera GT = V10 '10 R8 = V10 Ferarri Enzo = V12 Pagani Zonda = V12 Ferarri F360, 430, Scuderia, 458 = V8 Ferarri F550 = V12 Lambo Mucielago = V12 Lambo Gallardo = V10 Looks like the Europeans have that down to a science, not us. And V4's? Absolutely not. INLINE 4's maybe, but not V's. V4's haven't been used since the 70/80's.
When you say Europeans you mean Italians right? Sure Italy is in Europe, but it's Italians that have the v12 down to a science, not really Europeans. Im sure if you were to ask anyone, they would say Italy has the v12s not Europe. Oh and btw, Aston Martin's V8 was twice as good as their v12 models. Dont expect them to continue with it after the DBS. And one last thing, V10s suck. They have no torque. Thats why we stick with the V8.
