So I got my New York Central paper today. And when I pulled the paper out, gave it a once over, touched it. I was kind of worried....but I immediately cut down a full sheet, painted a sky, and I really like this paper. Happy customer. Hope the prices stay affordable and I'm hooked! One of the most important characteristics is that the colors stay bright and luminous, it does that and more. Ok I'm gonna go paint now.
I got a 3-piece sample set of this last month with an order - hot, cold & rough. I love this paper and how some pigments really bloom on it, especially for inspirational painting. I need to order a block. This is really nice paper, and I was surprised, at how affordable it is. I thought it was going to be super expensive.
I received a 10-sheet pack of cold-pressed NYCAS paper for Christmas from my daughter. I love Arches and Fabriano is my second favorite, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this paper. Its texture is a bit different, the sizing seemed even (unlike a couple sheets of my Arches recently), and I'm impressed thus far. Thanks for carrying an affordable alternative to price WC paper. Happy New Year to all!
The prices are fantastic. I ran across this brand because I'm due for a restock. The blocks were sold out but I purchased full sheets, and a small pack of hot press just to test it out. I've been painting for years so I have and can paint on any surface, so I'm sure this paper will be lovely. Thanks for passing on the savings. This should get me through christmas and into the new year.....hopefully!
I love the fact that it's 100% cotton and the 12x16 comes with 20 sheets is very affordable compared to other brands that only comes with 15 sheets. The hot press version will be my go to for gouache paintings.
I just picked up a few blocks from your sale... and I think I only knew about them because of your RU-vid channel. So definitely keep up the videos - they're pretty helpful! I've tried some great (and very bad) cotton papers in the past, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one does! Always good to have options, especially affordable ones.
Thanks Kris! The internal gelatin sizing prevents paint bleed-through and preserves color vibrancy. Each 100% NY Central Watercolor Paper Cotton sheet has a balanced grain that softens as a unit when wet. Keep Creating!
@@JerrysartaramaArtSupply Finally had a chance to try the NY Central watercolor paper! It absolutely slaps - I'm finding I'm more of a "cold press" person for watercolors, but even the small explorations I've done (with some Da Vinci watercolors) on the hot press has been pleasantly predictable and keeps the colors pretty vibrant. I'll need to do more to truly understand all the mysteries/etc this paper holds, but I'm glad I picked some up. I agree with Mike that the price point makes it a lot easier to be brave and explore! I have some Arches that's languishing away in my paper drawer, and because of that I'd consider Jerry's paper better for me at this hot second just because I actually feel good about using it. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks again for another great product vid! Always appreciate it when you take the time to explain not just the product, but its creation process. Can’t wait to pick one up!
I was sent a free sample of the three varieties of this paper. Really appreciate the gift. It is a quality watercolor paper. I do have one real issue! Since I found I enjoyed using the rough & would like to make a purchase - It is Never in stock. I check occasionally. Ugh, 😢
I am sorry to hear that Lisa. The New York Central 100% Cotton Watercolor Paper Packs are a very popular item, especially the rough texture paper. Please visit the page: www.jerrysartarama.com/new-york-central-100-cotton-watercolor-paper-sheet-packs - and sign up to be notified when they are back in stock.
@@JerrysartaramaArtSupply I’ve been on that list for sometime & have never received an ‘In-Stock’ notice. Maybe, since you guys are aware of the desire you would consider more production. Just hoping, 😄
@@JerrysartaramaArtSupply I actually bought some to try it out. I haven't been able to test all of my techniques, but I can tell the paper is very good. The colors remain vibrant and I can tell it can handle blending and glazing techniques very well 👍
@@BrazenSpirituality Hi! I unfortunately have been busy with other stuff in my life and have had no time to paint landscape paintings. I have since painted a Northern Cardinal on a 5x7 inch sheet. I can say the paper is very resilient and it holds color very well. I'm sorry I can't give you a more detailed review, but I have zero complaints - especially for the price. Quality paper.
Hi! We do have it available in our 22x30 size! You can find that here: www.jerrysartarama.com/new-york-central-watercolor-paper-140-lb-rough-22-30-10-pack
@@JerrysartaramaArtSupply oh I missed that! I didn’t see anything below $11 last night when I looked. I’ll add it to my wish list for my next order (I’m getting a bunch of clearance brushes today!! Wheee!!!!)
