Mount Maude and Seven Fingered Jack (7FJ) | Climbing two of Washington's Bulgers 

Mount Maude and Seven Fingered Jack (7FJ) are the 15th and 12th tallest peaks in Washington State. Mount Maude and Seven Fingered Jack are also two of the tallest non-volcanic mountains in the state.
We began at Phelps Creek trailhead where we had an easy 3.5 mile hike to the junction of Phelps Creek trail and the unmaintained Leroy Basin trail. We climbed up to Leroy Basin where we established our camp and began our trek to Mount Maude.
After reaching Freezer Pass, we dropped down into a basin above Ice Lake and headed up toward the ridge line of Mount Maude. Once we gained the ridge, it was a pretty easy walk up to the summit at 9,082 ft.
The next day, we left our camp at Leroy Basin and started up to Seven Fingered Jack. This was a much shorter (distance) than Mount Maude, but significantly steeper in a shorter period of time. It's a relentless climb to the top without some difficult route-finding at times. However, the views from the top are worth it!
We were disappointed to find that there were no summit registers at the top of Mount Maude or Seven Fingered Jack.
