I greatly appreciate you showing your bag and talking about it from time to time. It looks like I'm going to be having one soon and it's nice to see that it doesnt really get in the way of your day to day, hard working lifestyle.
@@CaseyLaDelle Same as a prosthetic leg. Had me a stuffed-up surgery done on my left foot in July 2022, and although both major wounds each side of the ankle healed, they couldn't get rid of the poison/inflammation inside the foot, so after seven months of having the wounds dressed every 2nd day & ALMOST walking until the infection started overtaking the antibiotics, they again started talking about doing it all again, to re-scrape the crystallite out of my ankle - but as the surgeon said to me that the wounds about the ankle having healed, my ankle was OK, it was just other bones in my left foot, that had become overcome with the infection, to the point where bones had started to soften, and decay / wither away. Hence I swiftly told them, if there's really no point in doing it all again, with another six months of dressings and SEVERE pain, just to get a foot that wasn't viable - don't piss around. Cut the thing off. Sure I didn't want to lose the foot, but the way the infection was moving up my leg, neither did I want to lose my knee. So - by getting a BNA (Below Knee Amputation) it circumvented all the pain & suffering I would have had for another six months or more, just to lose the knee at some stage anyway. Now, it has healed (and a prosthetic fitted) - all I have to do is relearn how to walk - after (that is), getting it shrunk enough to remove the pain of having the prosthetic squeezed onto my stump, when it's ON there. I did well today, when the local wood merchant delivered 3cu of firewood & by helping the missus shift it into the woodshed, & having worn it down in the woodshed for a good two & a half hours (until it was so numb & painful it was about time to remove it), I feel proud to say - I'm slowly getting used to it, and being upright again. Albeit coming down off my "high" into the wheelchair again hasn't in any way stalled my desire to (someday) walk again, without relying on elbow crutches etc. Oh sure, so you have a "baggie", at least there's no need to rush off and find a loo (as you carry your one with you) - and can plan your daily activities around a timeline of emptying your (on hip) loo bags.
Casey, Mount a 12" roller on the tail of the trailer to keep the cable from getting chewed up. For the goose neck side, a ring and snatch block or roller fairlead will change the cable direction and again keep the synthetic cable from getting chewed up.
I love your opinions especially your passion for the wenches I love the way you tell the other competitors to go kick rocks keep up the good work brother now back to your videos I'm a faithful follower Joe Dirt NorCal Nevada City California
Hey Casey Another informative and entertaining video. You get into some great projects ! And thank you for the personal history, it's cool to know where you got your experience. Good call on the e trailer debacle. Their ineptness in dealing with you has likely cost them far more than they will ever relize. Work Safe, Be Well
Hope you get this message Casey. I see you replaced some boards on your trailer. I recently replaced the wood on my 18 foot utility trailer. when i went to treat the wood, i had a gentlemen tell me to use a mixture of 1 Gallon of diesel with 1 gallon of USED motor oil. mix it well then apply. let the first coat set in, it dont take long, then apply second coat. I have since been told that this mixture works way better than any sealant you can buy.
Zero chance I’m putting gas an oil on my deck. That’s beyond dumb. For someone like me who actually uses their trailer, I will wear out and break those boards LONG before they decay from the whether. Leave them untreated, and replace as necessary.
Regarding returning the wheel and tyre, I agree with you but whether it is legal or not I don't know. I am in the U.K. and had the same sort of thing. The police contacted me with threat of arrest. I told them to come with a van so they could get the item and return it at the same time. I never heard from the police or the seller again.
You're a man of many talents, Casey! Is there any kind of job that you haven't tried yet? ;-) That's a neat saw, with so many options in angles and the ability to actually cut across wider parts: Need to get me something like that as well! :-) Also a very well thought out welding cart you have made there! I assume that there's one more thing you might change about that trailer: Change the Big Bubba's markings to your own company name?
@@CaseyLaDelle Understood, but friction over time will degrade anything which is why I offered if used a lot. With the D-ring available you may be tempted to use this feature more often than anticipated. While you are feature packing this trailer for your use have a removable roller at the back just in case as well. Food for thought. Good stuff you have.
Enjoyed your great videos and great job of your welding abilities. I’m ready to see all these things in action, what is the rope rated at, I’ve must have missed that. Keep them coming!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have an antique Miller stick welder aaalll to myself cause my business partner can't weld stick AT ALL.. he does fair to middlin with wire but he lets me run all the welds..
I think the warn and Ramsey winches are much better,. I have some harbor freight winches. Theirs usually have permanent magnets instead of normal field coils so they eat up battery much faster and run Hotter. Just my experience with them. I do have some harbor freight winches. But only use them for stuff that's not near as demanding. Like on a motor hoist or something short throw, something where they only run for a few seconds.
Casey i noticed the bag, are you on any specific diet to help? My brother has chrons and is on the specific carbohydrate diet and has blown away the doctors with the results vs taking steriods or surgery.
No diet that helps, but definitely things that I have to avoid to prevent blockages. Pretty much anything that's difficult for the average person's intestines to digest is impossible for mine to digest, because I'm missing most of them
Very informative video. Thank you for sharing. Thoughts on painting the underside (before welding) with weldable paint? I’ve never used it but I’ve heard of it. Thanks
Just a thought why not get a pulley you can lay the winch rope on and mount it to flat bar with a bar stock post. Then drill a hole in the trailer to drop it in where it’s close to rubbing?
I like what you did. I’ve purchased from e-trailer several times and never had an issue but I’ve had issues with ebay. Lots of Chinese knock off junk. Got to be careful.
Hey Casey, Looking at how that ring is connected to the soft shackle...shouldn't it be on the knot side? I think I saw a video somewhere telling me that's how it should be done. 😄 If I'm wrong, apologies.
@@CaseyLaDelle hey now, it was your video that told me that. LOL. Keep up the good work. Just sold my motorcycle to a guy from Oregon not 10 mins ago. (I’m in AR). He’s on some kind of rally and his engine blew.
Actually, the synthetic rope is actually stronger when it comes to breaking strength. But the cable is more durable when it comes to abrasion resistance
I use the Evolution blades made for that saw. But you can't just throw a metal blade on any miter saw, the ones made for cutting metal turn at a much slower speed. A normal wood saw turns way too fast and will destroy the blades quick
Probably because he had health problems. I had a bowel cancer tumour removed in 2017 and had a colostomy bag for a year and a half. Life goes on and you can live with a "bag" . Choice of life with a bag or death I would chose life with a bag again.
I realize you had a bad customer experience with ETrailer with vendor…. Well shit happens… everyone has good and bad days. I will say I’ve had excellence experiences with them and great customer service. You’re not me… I respect your experience but it seems like you’re a little harsh on this vendor…
