I really want to see this build happen. I have another crazy idea for another build. An S13 with a Shelby V8 in it. It will look and sound weird but will make a bunch of HP and will be one for the history books

Solid engine mounts, uh, that v10 is going to shake your teeth loose. I always use polymer to soften vibration. Sick build, I’m an FD RX7 owner and I’m swapping a RB26 into mine. It had a 3 rotor but kept having issues.

It has rubber insulators on the engine mount side. Hard to see in the video but they’re there.

Excited for the outcome! However, I would advise you rethink the design of those engine mounts, and really look at where the weight is going. Your cutouts for the nuts are going to allow for deformation in that steel... Looks like they're going to fold in half.

You could maybe drill a hole through the subframe into the base plate big enough for a socket to tighten the nut and keep the same idea you had minus the cut outs

No it should be really good. The oil pan will sit just slightly below the subframe. A stock Rx7 leaves a decent amount of room between the subframe and the ground so we should be able to lower a little bit

Interesting choice to go solid mounts. Mind me asking why you decided to go that route instead of traditional poly mounts?

Oh nice! We want to have a intact hood if possible. Right now we’re looking at the Tech 2 hood. Not our first choice for style, but looks like it has a nice buldge on the front for our throttle body
