Mouse Bungees - Are They Pointless or Perfect? 

I watched this video and then realised that my mouse is wireless.

I duct taped my entire desk to my ceiling, seemed to do the trick

i am using the $8 bungee at home and work, and i find it to be really nice. doesnt disrupt movements as mentioned and the newer iteration has a rubbery silicon feet at the bottom, not very grippy, but good enough.

The way Aiden's mouth moves makes it look like he requires serious effort to simply speak intelligibly.

I have the "el cheapo" bungee and you didn't have the chord properly placed in the slots along the base. This is most likely the reason that you find it didn't work very well

Interesting that you listed all those reason and not the ones why I suspend my mouse cables - it reduces drag on the mouse, making mouse movement more accurate, eliminates the cord getting stuck on stuff on your desk, and slightly reduces the weight of the mouse since you don't have to move the cable along with the mouse if it's suspended properly.

I have my mouse cable zip-tied to my keyboard's cord, with some excess cable (to allow for mouse movement) tucked below the keyboard. It makes the cable management a lot cleaner and functions like a bungee without the need to add anything to your desk as far as I'm concerned The only time I've ever noticed cable drag was when the cord from the mouse went straight to the edge of the desk, causing it to pull down there, so this has been a perfect solution for me. I'd recommend this instead of taping the cable to the side of your monitor.

The whole point of a bungee is that you don't have to drag the cable on the desk... so having a bunch of cable coming out of the bungee (as shown in the video) doesn't make any sense. Also, the "8 dollar" bungee is regularly sold for like 4-5 bucks... and having a spring that moves easily is a good thing, not a bad one imho. Having tried both Razer's and the El Cheapo one myself I actually prefer the cheaper one. Felt like the reviewer was weirdly dismissive of the cheap one.

I 3d printed mine (0.5$ of filament) and I love it so much :) if you ALREADY have an issue with mouse drag they're useful but otherwise why bother... my g502's cable was really annoying to me. compared to my mx512 at least. the old mouse I had a thin nice cable so it never bothered me. but this keeps curling and hitting objects on my desk etc and it's generally a pain. so this helped a lot. still I'd honestly just tape the cable to the side of my monitor.

I have a cell phone, tablet holder with a strong clamp but no bulky on the side of my desk, with an adjustable steel neck, and I just used this one to hold the Logitech 502 breaded mouse cord as well, with a neat Velcro setup following the neck until the back of desk, with enough room to move freely the mouse in the pad, --> Clears the Whole Front Desk , works like a charm :) , no need for any of this bungees. Highly recommended for productivity and gaming Dmitry, but we know u like your CAMADE ;) , works for me and my team. But thnks for the cool review, ther's always something for everyone . cheers

I have the cheapo bungie and it works perfectly fine, doesn't slip. Try allowing some slack between the top mount and the middle mount. It helps a lot.

I have a similar diy solution, i use two metal hooks screwed on the desk to keep the cable in place, it holds better than tape but it will leave holes if you decide to remove it

Recently picked up the razer bungee v2 for the model d after using a g pro wireless for a few months and I love it. I question how effective it is for anything other than reducing cord drag but thats the only reason I got it so works perfect. Feels just like wireless

Best diy option. Cut a line through a straw and place your mouse wiren inside, then tape it shut. Then stick it to the back of your desk it it's close enough and you have a flexible bungee!

I bought a Hoco bungee at $9, it works pretty well with 3 usb ports and a card reader slot. The only down side is that all usb ports are 2.0

I currently running my Razer Deathadders cable internally through my Dynex keyboard (worth around $10) I did that by cutting two holes on both sides. I plan upgrading my keyboard to something more "professional", Azio's MGK1-K and I'm not cutting any holes in that so...Mouse Bungee FTW!!!

Not sure why everyone seems to be hating on Aidan, I thought he did a good job. Nice video, although the Zowie camade linked in the description looks like it only comes in black and red, where do you get the mostly black one with white accents?

I've had the bunker for years and through 3 different mice, it's cheap, is small enough to not get in the way, and has the most important feature of not moving around when you flick your mouse. Either use the tape (although maybe not to your monitor) or buy the bunker.

I have a bungie made of tape :) Oh, I see Aiden has one too. I would recommend non-adhesive kind of tape as the shown tape will leave ugly marks on the equipment due to time and temperature changes.

I have a slide out tray for my keyboard and mouse. Under my desk I already had an Ikea Signum. So I routed my mouse cable through the Signum. Gives me a good range. Keeps it from robbing on the side of anything. In fact, I got the tray sliders on amazon for $15. The Signum for $12. I used a wallshelf for the tray itself, only $10. I did all this for less than some of these solutions.

i cant believe that you didnt mention the bungee is used for reducing drag! my mouse if not very heavy (89 grams) but its still a little too heavy for me, and the way my desk is designed means the cable has to go down to plug in, causing drag and extra weight that's why i taped the cord to the back of the monitor, which is a more pretty solution than the one you guys suggested

The "$8 cheap Amazon one" you listed is the very original mouse bungee that coined the term to begin with. I use the exact same one (the only difference is that mine has a no-longer existing web address printed on the side) for around 20 years now and it is the only thing in my setup that I've never upgraded or even felt the need to replace it. I can't agree with your synopsis here. Otherwise, good video as always, keep up the good work!

I just stick a piece of tape over the wire with enough slack in it for me to move the mouse all the way across my mousepad. Works a trick!

I bought the cougar one dew to it resisting more. This helped me a lot with my muscle memory and by using it for about 3 days, I was able to be a lot more precise with my aim in cs go.

I'm using the 8$ (it's actually 3-5$ at AliExpress) bungee and a G403 mouse and I have 0 cable issues. The cable alone certainly doesn't bend the springs. I used 2-side glue tape to stick it to the desk. Hasn't moved since.

For the diy option i decided to use bluetack on the lower side of my monitor works perfectly and can withstand lager movements and flicks unlike tape

I can confirm the $8 bungee is very good if you can blutac it to your desk. I really can't find any problem aside from the easily fixable lack of weight.

I only play shooter games and switching over to mouse bungies a few months ago has been one of the best additions to my peripherals for only $30. I just bought the G Pro Wireless so I won’t be needing one anymore though lol.

The razer bungee doesn't work as well overtime because the adhesive wears off over time. I've been using it for about a month or two and it started wearing off, now to secure it. I have to wedge it between my desk and my wall. I think the bunker would be a better option for securing wise. But I prefer performance over aesthetic purposes. You may think other wise.

it depends on how you move your mouse, after seeing so many people say mouse bungees are a needed thing i ended up buying the zowie camade, i didnt like it at all, infact it felt like it was adding more resistance to my ultralight pro, i tried it for 2 days and still i felt this way in the end, so i took it off and never used it again went back to my normal feel of never feeling drag or being hindered from the cable (by the way if you feel this way, just simply dont buy a bungee trust me). i thought about it for 2 weeks or so off and on and it finally dawned on my why it actually made me worse, for starters i never felt drag or anything relating to the cable. when i am with my mouse/hand i wrist pivot alot and only will occasionally move my entire arm, this is the reason i never felt the cable to begin with, because i use my wrist mainly for snaps and quick movements, my travel distance could only be as far as my wrist movement without moving whole arm so i would say this in the end, regardless of what grip you use on your mouse, if you move your entire arm when you aim you most likely will feel a difference with a bungee, however if you wrist pivot to aim, a bungee is not needed at all. or you could just say screw the cable and try out the g305, apparently the hero actually has a better input response than wired cables dont know how thats possible, but mine arrives today so im eager to check it out

Really, a paracord is all you need. Paracord plus mouse bungee should be good.

At first I was just used to nothing and letting my mouse drag as it hung off the edge of my desk, but now I bought the Razer Mouse Bungee, sadly I had to use one zip tie to keep my mouse wire set in the 2nd lock in point on the base, because my Logitech G502 mouse cable was too thick so it wouldn't sit in that thin plastic groove that well, but other than that, it worked perfectly and I had to readjust my aim in games because I wasn't used to the drag-free cable when gaming

back of my monitor has a loop for cable management, i loop the mousewire through that, make sure it extends to all edges of my mousepad, and it works just as good as my old bungie

Two words for you, roccat apuri usb, great bungie holder, optional lighting and usb power, i still use it even with my g903 when it's in wired mode for charging and honestly it's the closest thing to being wireless all the time, and yes i'm going for the inductive charger on the mouse eventually.

I would like to say, you don’t want to a have a bungee that permanently sticks to the table like the bunker because if you do a large swipe on your mouse pad and you go out of the bungee’s range it will pull on your mouse and put strain on your mouse cable and that can’t be too good for the mouse, you would rather have the bungee fall over instead, I heard about this on rocket jump ninja’s channel and thought it was worth telling because he did not mention that.

Just did this.. Ikea has some cale management kits(google it) and in there theres 2 things that are to be nailed down. If you nail the small one to the edge of your desk with the cable under(with a bit of pressure)' the cable stays put. Set it to an appropriate length and it looks really clean and looks great

I taped my mouse wire to the bottom right corner of my monitor, it's customizable. I used black duct tape so I can barely see it due to my monitor having a black trim, it's barely noticeable. it's practically free and it works the best based on what I've used

The mouse bungee is for competitive(and some casual) low sensitivity players that are bothered by cable drag. It won't really matter to those who aim with their wrist.

Just tape the cord to the desk/wall, problem solved.
