What happened after the video? I moved the rat to a safe place in some bushes with dense vegetation nearby and gave it food. Why didn't I interfere earlier? Cause I expected the rat to fight back and scare the bird off. This is how nature works after all, if I were not there it would have to keep fighting or give up anyway. Many of the people here are sympathizing with the rat but if it appeared at their house, they probably wouldn't hesitate to use poison or other ways to get rid of it. The irony of life. I watched something similar a couple of years ago: two (North American) crows were tag teaming a rat in the middle of a residental street.I thought that maybe there was something wrong with the rat (poisoned?) because they usually don't come out in the middle of the day. The crows kept pulling the rat's tale and pecking at it's head almost like they were trying to get to it's juicy rat brain. I watched it for quite a while because I had never seen or heard of such a thing happening before. Eventually it seemed as if the rat was either dead or at least near death and the crows were jumping around pecking at it still (at one point it looked like they were playing tug-of-war with it). FYI I heard no squeaking and in fact it was eerily quiet.

I have NEVER felt sooooooo sad watching anything like this in my life... I DON'T do comments, but by did you film this and not stop him being hurt... you can hear his distress - absolutely disturbing and disgusting.......
