This is vital for effortless power... The basics of swing speed.

We all need this. Effortless (energy efficient) power is born from a simple move with your arms and hands. The hands is telling the body to move and rotate.
You can contact me for a online lesson on: skillest.com/app/profile/marc...
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook. I call it a circle of speed. How to swing a golf club need to be adjusted to your skill level and experience.
Long and straight is the goal for everyone but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers.
We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. Everything that you find on the internet isn’t true. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead are two of legends that are often misunderstood.
We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can always get better.
Find what inspires you. Golf basics are the same for everyone. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

One week after I watched this video I finally broke 100 on my pretty difficult home course today. The driver still slices sometimes but when it doesn't it's gorgeous and the irons and woods have better accuracy and a club more distance. The key feel for me is the push of the trail forearm. It's literally a game changer for me. Thank you so much Marcus!

Thanks for your wonderful teaching. After watching your videos and practicing my swing at home, I finally made it to the driving range and par 3 golf course today Everything was so much better!! Length and accuracy were very improved. Scored better than bogie hitting three greens in regulation yielding 2 pars and a birdie!! Birdies have been extremely rare in my game. Just for fun on the practice range (and because the holes on the course aren't long enough for a driver) I saved three balls from my small bucket for my driver. I just tried to be as fluid as I could and let my hands do their job as you describe it pushing the trail hand past the lead hand. Each shot had a nice draw: never had that before! Every shot went over 300 yards down the middle, out of the driving range, and out of sight into the field beyond. Looking forward to further improvements with my game and to taking it to the big courses. Thanks!!

I tore my left rotator cuff in late August 2022 and am rehabbing it so I can return playing in spring 2023. I think a swing with less thought on turn and positions to achieve with more emphasis on arms and hands will make it easier as well. Not being that flexible anyways this is what I can't wait to work on. I really like your instruction and teaching style.

Yes this will help greatly. I tore my left rotator cuff as well. Biking accident. 18 months now and at about 90%. Lots of stretches, hanging from arms, light lifting and golf practice using relaxed hands and arms and shoulders. Feels weird but after about 2 weeks got the hang of it. Just get in good posture. And eventually most shots will be baby draws without any strain on the body. Maybe the legs and hips some😃

I'm 44. Touched golf for the first time end of 2022. Like many noobs I tried too much too fast and recently I got wat I think is costochondritis. Basically I'm benched for the foreseeable future. My best guess cause is a mix of wrong technique and over exertion. Videos like these give me hope 😅

Hi Marcus Well I have been hard at it and here is the good…….starting to hit some really beautiful drives……..soft draws, irons are drawing really nicely and I must say longer. The bad……. my biggest problem now with driver is a big push when it happens, irons sometimes fat. The ugly…...fairway hybrids skinny as well as fairway woods, also tend to slice my fairway woods…but I UNDERSTAND! The body over rotates and my trail hand does not overtake my lead hand, also on the fairway I hit up. So I at least understand where and how I am going off track. Little note……..off the tee box I just barely put my tee in the ground now and have absolutely no problem hitting up with my scoop. I will continue Marcus……A BIG BIG THANKS for all you do for us club golfers. CHEERS

First time watching your channel and must say I was so impressed with your rudimentary style of teaching. I'm 60 been golfing for 3 years! I'm a natural lefty but, due to my tendency of having a very strong grip and hooking most shots my teaching partner had me switch to right handed where I had a much more natural grip although not much power! I noticed you have a rather strong grip so I'm assuming that is not an issue? Your explanation of how the hands work now make me want to go back to left side and employ your teachings! Thanks for making things easy to understand!

My new pro got me with just the body the arms are just carriers, my last pro got me to learn, body disassociation , which means, learn to give control to the torso going back, and then switch and give control to the lower body, a la Ben hogan, I have master both systems my arms are never activated, do I play good, yes and no, because at some point my arms want to, get involved and needles to say, is a battle of which part of the body takes over. This makes lots of sense I will give it a try today

Ok...The explanation is very good. Question. Are you physically pushing the handle of the club or are you letting the momentum of the club just take off and square itself??? I feel that bringing my hands down (swing down) brings the shaft parallel to the deck. Once their the club can either take off by itself or i can attempt to push it through. There is a lot of momentum at that point and I feel like i am almost slowing the club head down by trying to manipulate the push.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

I am pushing physically on every shot. My hands are pushing towards each other and helping the natural momenturn of the club. There are many ways you can hit a golf shot, find your best way. 👍

Marcus your explanation of hand speed with the overtaking of the trail over lead hands makes sense. However that is easier to do if the downswing is not rushed but controlled. I find trying to slow the swing and body movement down extremely hard to do, can you give any advice or drills to slow body motion down.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

Hi Mick. The motion is a relationship between your hands. We don't need to tell our body to slow down but we need to tell one hand to move slow and one fast. I did this a few weeks ago with drills: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D-Qn4XaGf2c.htmlsi=SeVJt0uH3w7QEcz5

Hi Marcus, I have been following your swing method for the past few weeks and getting some great results. As far as the driver goes, I setup just right of the center of the tee box with an open stance, shoulder parallel to the target, open club face, and the ball right of the hip joint. Most of my tee shots are found at the left edge of fairway instead of at the middle of the fairway. Is my stance too open or am I closing the club face too much or do I need to move closer to the right tee box (looking at the target). Your insight is much appreciated.

It's the difference in speed that gives us swing speed. I'm right-handed and I can slow down my lead arm and that makes the difference between the hands bigger. That's why it looks like I'm swinging slow, I'm not fast in my lead side. Train your hands to create more speed together and you will be fine.

Are you conscious, at all, about your right elbow staying closer to your side or do you just let it go where it "naturally" goes? Also, I'd like to support your teaching financially in some way. Effortless for Popeye, impossible for Olive Oil.
