I think I prefer mini seriers or shows with one season. The characters have enough time to develop and grow but there are no pointless storylines in the 11th season.

Absolutely Loved, Loved Loved Psych!!! 😍 I bought the DVD box set, I loved it so much. 😂😂😂 That and Monk. Definitely my two favorite TV shows. I'm definitely a TV Series/Sitcom person. A nice staycation, eating waffles or some chicken soup and binging on a great TV series, sounds like heaven to me! I don't have to see, hear or talk to anyone the whole time. 😁

Dulcé laughing is such a joy to listen to. She is just super fun. This podcast is really entertaining as well.

Actor is the very correct way. Never could understand when it used to be otherwise. I actually cheered the day I found out the change. My Lola would always ask me questions while we watched movies and tv. It was kinda annoying until I went to the Philippines and I couldn’t completely keep up with the Pinoy movies/tv. And then it was MY TURN to keep on with the questions for my Lola. Lol She patiently obliged. 💕😂💕💕

I have to say I agree with Josh.. I do like the resolution that most movies bring, however you could be watching a show and it gets canceled after season 1 and the situations never get resolved :-( I hate it when that happens

Speaking from experience: Game show contestants have hammered into them lots of information about tax liabilities on their winnings, and papers must be signed before they're allowed to get into the studio. I imagine the Oprah/cars aftermath was a nightmare, as this had to be explained to people after the fact. I bet a lot of them turned down the car when they found out.

These are the most pointless discussions and I love it so much. I find myself usually siding with Dulce. Josh still wild for the tomato soup situation.

First, I friggin LOVE both of you!!!! 🙌🏽🤗🥰 This is the first time that I wasn't on one side or the other because both of you seem to be compromising (except for the occasional shiv that Josh stuck in Dulcé 🤣) If I'm forced to choose, I'd pick TV only because I'm in my 50's now, with grown kids, and I get a thrill watching the roll out of all the characters, having time to get to know them, etc. I love Marvel movies tremendously, but I REALLY love the Marvel TV shows on Disney+ *Shout Out to **#SheHulk** Attorney at Law!* *Neither of you heathens mentioned **#Community**!!!* We have been begging for *#SixSeasonsAndAMovie* for almost 8 years. We got our six seasons of that brilliant show and we are still waiting for the movie. But just like Dulcé mentioned, getting characters back who blew up is difficult. *One of the most important characters in Community was Troy Barnes, played by Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino.* Maybe now that his show *Atlanta* is done, we can finally get our #AndAMovie. 🙏🏽

I am for both. I do find myself binging shows rather than seeing them as they come out. I would at least wait until there are several seasons or the show has it's final season, before I begin binge watching a show. But, I do go ahead and find myself watching movies and documentaries more than shows.

He's absolutely correct so he mentions Game of thrones and how that ended and he says "if you're mad about that what about this new person now because they probably don't want to have to deal with it at all" that is me when it was happening because everyone was giving it such a amazing hype and everything my friends talking about it how awesome it was to be honest it wasn't my type of show that I liked but my friends hyped it up so much to make it sound like it was the best show ever seen and then once I heard it ended terribly I was instantly like yeah no I don't want to watch anything Game of thrones at that point cuz it was overhyped and then it ended terribly. What's the point? That's why when I heard House of dragon and I was like I'm not falling for that one I'm being careful with this one. Neither of those have I seen

I am so in love with K-dramas now. I think 16 episodes for one season seems perfect. Although, I won't lie, I always hope for season 2. But, I also love movies so it's a draw for me.

The writing and acting are very important in both movies and Tv series. I look at more tv series now that I have more time to invest in them and binging is possible. I still enjoy revisiting the original Twilight Zone because it was so thought provoking and had a lot of variety. So many stars got noticed there. I like the Lord of the Rings series though I read the books and notice the differences. Also these days you do not sit through all 3 hours because on streaming they save your progress or you can download sometimes.

movies all the way. in my whole life, I have loved more movies than series ( and the reason is not because there are more movies than series), movies have it all for me, done in one sit, mini series take a lot of time of my life and do not like to wait until the next episode. More examples for you: beach versus mountain vacation, theatre versus cinema, ice cream versus cake, coffee versus tea; city life versus country life; light breakfast versus full breakfast; podcast versus ….; academia or no academia; summer versus winter; walk versus drive; fish versus chicken; superpowers: being invisible versus flying;

a point against Josh regarding having to make so many episodes to save a coffee shop, The Office was that premise for the first couple of seasons

I loved Black-ish and was sad that it ended, but it was the right time to end. It's hard when the kids all grow up. I haven't gotten into Grown-ish, but thinking I might try it.

They were going to reboot the Boondocks for a 5th season earlier this year but it got cancelled. Seasons 1-3 were the ones to watch (season 4 is when they let go of Aaron McGruder and the show's quality went ⬇), and it's interesting as each season seemed to be different in the way they approached messaging and comedy. It would be cool to see what a reboot would be like, but maybe it still isn't the time for it.

i kind of just hang out by myself, so when i'm bingeing, it's TV shows, or podcasts/YT content, but when i watch movies in my chair, alone, i like to watch things that the react channel i sub to watches "with" them, for their witty commentary. that said, there needs to be a HoldUp Reacts channel spinoff.

I like both but am all about TV/docu series. Not only does it allow for character development and the ability to really hone in on one character at a time, it allows for more creativity in creating and twisting plots. Great examples: This is Us, Little Fires Everywhere, Lie to Me and American Crime (so upset these last two were cancelled).

Love movies, love TV series, hate TV series that are movies cut into 15 minutes episodes with lots of credits, ads etc. (e.g. Man vs Bee - watched it missing Mr. Bean, but it was a bit disappointing). I get what Josh is saying - I enjoyed several TV series that just faded - great, clear, bright at the beginning, then the quality drops. Some seemed like "surprise, you get another season" when they were getting ready to round it all up, and the writers had to create quickly (White Collar was great the first 3-4 seasons, then 5 was "surprise, you get renewed", 6 was '"wrap it up!"). When you mentioned Game of Thrones (didn't see it, don't intend to) I jumped to another tangent - books made into movies/TV series. I hope Julia Quinn enjoyed the Bridgerton success and shrugged the nasty comments. I watched the first season and I didn't bother with the second. It's happened once that I enjoyed the TV series after I tried the book (I didn't like it, never returned to it), but the writing on the TV series seemed better and ... I liked the actors :) I love a book series (55 books and still coming); there was talk of optioning for movie/TV adaptation, lots of fans suggesting actors etc. I could wish all the cash that would go to the author, they should enjoy it; If they will make those movies, I'm not sure I could stay away, but I'm pretty sure it would disappoint me. When I read a book or listened to an audiobook, there's a movie in my mind and it's conflicting with what's on the screen/TV :)

Both are great :) If i had to choose.. probably TV shows. When done right, a series can explore more and provide more, but it needs budget and skill. For example Band of Brothers was an amazing TV series but couldn't have contained as much awesomeness in a movie. e.g. Band of brothers > Saving Private Ryan

Josh is spot on with the TV shows going on too long. It’s always a pattern of shows dragging on in what feels like they’re milking it at the cost of quality. I like shows like Samurai Champloo that just put full closure and lasted just right with 26 episodes though 2-3 episodes felt a little unnecessary.

I like movies or kdrama/Uk series style. Grey's used to be a fav for me but they kept on going and now I'm just annoyed its not over yet T_T

The new enterprise we're entering is podcasts being turned into movies and TV shows. Which is a smooth transition because there's already dialogue.

I agree with Josh on that one with the British TV shows and stuff having less episodes like a few episodes so that it makes you want to have more that's kind of more profitable instead of having to make it so long that it's not understandable I know that even some of the MCU shows do this you know? Wandavision had like nine episodes and people are just like after those nine episodes they're like "I want to see more!" So you can see they're taking some cues from British TV as well

Game of thrones is sort of a rare exception where it was ruined because it didn’t go on long enough. They tried to cram several seasons worth of material into too few episodes and just started ignoring the laws of the universe they’d created. I really appreciate shows that know when it’s time to end - Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul both did that really well, and I think they were able to do the movie because it didn’t detract from the quality of the show and was doing its own thing.

I think movies have, in general, better quality, but they also seem like a big time commitment. I’m a busy woman, I don’t have 2 hours to dedicate to tv very often so I prefer series because I can turn it off and come back without guilt over chopping a movie in half. Side note, I’m watching this at 1.5 speed 😁

Dulce, vanilla is used to make almost ALL desserts taste better, including chocolate desserts.. I honestly could not choose between the two.

Yess... I was just about to say that I think a Korean drama is a happy medium because most of them finish in one maybe two seasons while still feeling complete by the end.

Film is great for flexing high production for the stories that require it, while TV can pace it's storytelling with more depth and focus on character arcs. I love both, but as a writer I love the pacing TV gives to explore characters.
