Huge snaps for therapy and self care being preventative. SO important to set up those supports while you’re doing well

Every time I think about regrets I look at where I’m at and who I am and I’m happy with today so everything I’ve been through made me who I am. I wouldn’t change a thing.

As a 29 year old, my biggest regret in my 20’s was choosing boyfriends over friendships. NOT WORTH IT EVER! you’re allowed to have a personal life with friends and hobbies AND have a boyfriend who loves your independence and encourages it. Codependent relationships made me lose so many friends throughout this past decade and now I feel like a weirdo trying to make new friends. Feels so much harder now to make authentic friends than it was in college and my early twenties.

What I regret in my 20s is not sticking up for other people more. I have always been so conflict avoidant that I just try to diffuse situations automatically. I wish I stopped before doing that and thought about whether a conflict maybe needed to happen. Maybe that person shouldn't have gotten away with what they said or did, maybe they needed to be called out. Edit: On topic for the video, my experience of moving out was a bit odd because due to family stuff I was basically taking care of myself since middle school. Cooking, grocery shopping, doing laundry, I was really independent by the time I got my own place and it just felt nice that it was mine.

In my early 20s when I was living with my parents, I had this image of a “forever home” being an actual house/apartment/dwelling. Now, at 29, “home” is much more nebulous. To me, home is a feeling, not a place.

I love the way Sierra looks at the girls when they talk. You can tell she’s genuinely listening to them, not to just reply. Love you girlies!!!

I think having regrets is a good thing. It helps you grow and learn from past choices. I’m with Paloma. I wouldn’t change anything about my life because I love who I am now. But I have regrets because there are choices I made that I wouldn’t make now knowing what I know.

Things are so bad for me in my current living situ that things have got.... incredibly dark for me. I didn't know if this would be the right time for me to watch this but I'm glad that I did. Thank you for giving me a welcome distraction and some hope. I'm gunna make myself get some food, some sleep, and try again tomorrow. This helped more than you know, so thank you 💛

I really appreciate Riayn's perspective on moving to NYC and living in a completely new place for the first time without having parental support. im moving to a new place for the first time next month and my parents will be living in a different state so im definitely anxious about it lol

So crazy that this is the topic for this week. I was at my parent’s house tonight and asked if I could take a water bottle and my dad goes “of course you can, it’s your house too” and it hit me that not living there makes me feel like I have to ask for stuff!

I’m in my final year of my 20s and I definitely have some regrets from my late teens and early 20s. I regret not standing up for myself more. If I did I would have been in such a better place in life now. I wish I would have rebelled a little more

Omg I related to Riayn so much in this episode!!! Like I am struggling to have the home feeling as well, and completely understand the comfortable houses to stay in but not feeling like a home. Since this podcast has began, I've moved abroad by myself but in a few months my visa is going to expire and I'll move back home, most likely to my family's house because I can't afford anything else. And I'm just nervous for how it will feel and experience the reverse culture shock of returning to a place I once called home (like even the country) only to feel like a completely different person in a nostalgic familiar place.

I loved this episode! I also would really like to see an entire podcast episode talking about what it’s like living with a partner for the first time. It was interesting to hear a little about your experiences in this one

I moved out for 6 years for college/grad school, then moved back in with my parents. Now I’m 30 and getting ready to move out again. It feels like I’ve taken a circuitous path, but I keep telling myself there’s no correct timeline or order to do things in life.

Wow! Talk about timing! I just moved out of my parents home (above garage apartment ) after living there for about 4ish years after college for a variety of reasons. I’ve finally moved into my own apartment in July, it’s lovely and i love creating my own habits and routines that are for my “household” (just me 😂). I will probably be moving in with my boyfriend within the next year or so so i really enjoyed hearing Paloma &sierra talk about how that changed their relationships with their partners. Thank you for the insight & just being yourselves! Love y’all!

Needed this Pod. My boyfriend just moved into my childhood home with me and my parents. We are planning to move out after Christmas. I’ve been somewhat dreading it because like, leaving home is scary! This makes me feel a little better about it

I spent my early 20s pretty chronically online. My mental health was ~terrible~ and I found myself addicted to an mmorpg. It was like a full time job. I ran a community on there and took it way too seriously. I was convinced that the only way I could ever find a partner was dating through the game which led to some weird/difficult experiences. It wasn't until I met my best friend in 2016 (about to be 23) that I didn't start to really grow up and away from being a shut-in. I stopped playing the game regularly in 2017. I feel like I missed out on a lot of vital early 20s experiences. I didn't have a 21st birthday party. I'm about to be 30 next month and I feel like my late 20s were where I really began to shine. It took a lot of time, and I still have to do this sometimes, to grieve the early 20s experience that I didn't have. I felt so "late" and so "behind". But I try to remember - I wasn't late. I was right on time for my own timeline.

I moved out on my own when I was 23 (almost 26 now) and overall it gave me SO much peace but sometimes I randomly get major imposter syndrome like wow I’m a full adult now with a career and paying rent getting groceries cooking my own meals but wasn’t I just a kid like yesterday?? It’s so surreal

I live with my best friend we've been friends since 6th grade and we're 29 this year we're 18 hours apart to the minute and we have lived together 3 separate times and while where we live now is not our home anywhere she and I are together is home. She is my person. Her and I have already said whoever we end up with will have to be comfortable with the other living together lol. Even if it's the same house or like a mother in law house or neighbors.

Being a pastor's kid, I was shamed for moving in with my boyfriend. My aunt, who waited to move in until she was married and the man left her and their 5 kids, tried to guilt me by saying my DEAD DAD would be disappointed in me for moving in with my boyfriend.

I totally got sucked in by a TikTok shop ad. In 8 to 10 days I will be the proud owner of a real live carnivorous plant. I have a dream that it will eat all of the mosquitoes and fruit flies in my house! That ad took me down, hook line and sinker! 🌱🌳🌾🪴
