@@TKCL for what it’s worth I like the 30-45 min range. I know it’s more work on the editing side of things but maybe leave some bloopers in the video ha ha. I know you have em from time to time.
@TKCL
@TKCL 3 года назад
Oh yeah I do, I need to save them for a blooper video. I've been back and forth on making longer videos. Sadly today's world is so impatient and fast paced that people would probably skip the majority of a long video thus ruining all the extra effort to make it.

So why disc instead of using a tiller? Any why not use a bottom plow before you disc? I have a 10 acre field I'm purchasing that is an old cow pasture, hasn't been cut in years. I hunt rabbits with beagles in it. I want to setup a small part of it for doves, maybe an acre to start? I'm thinking milo then cut it come season. I've seen where dove need bare ground and to plant rows but I'm confused how people plant there crops in rows but have no weeds all year? I also don't have a retrieve dog so I'd have to be able to find them myself after the shot. Thanks.

Also there is a major creek that runs along the border of my property. I have a small creek that runs along the field and at the halfway points spills out into my field flooding it a bit. Not sure if I'm going to drain tile this, dig s pond, or let it continue to flood and find a seed that grows in wetland and see if that brings ducks and dove? I'm new to birds and what they like.

Have a disc and not a tiller, not to mention tilling 7 acres would take literally a couple of days. No bottom plow, but eventually I plan on getting one. Dove prefer trees, feed, grit/gravel for processing seed and water. If you can get all of these in the same field, you can be very successful. As far as the flooded area, there are certain types of millet like Japanese millet that prefer to be flooded. Ducks would absolutely love that! Have fun setting up your plots.

It is, been meaning to tighten it some. Have to leave everything a little loose so I can slide/adjust it.

The Kelley's Country Life I have farmed, ranched and run a commercial hunting operation all my life. Sick now and having to retire but I still enjoy watching anything to do with farming, fishing or growing wildlife. Looks to me like you got a lot of potential. Best of luck to you

why don't you pull cultipacker behind the disc.

I do now when I'm covering seed, welded a receiver hitch to my disc last year. If you watch my current videos you'll see me packing larger seed that way.

Awesome video. I just subscribed . I am planning to purchase a piece of land ( maybe 5 acres , 2 hrs away from Dallas ) and cultivate as a hobby and grow millets ( for now ) just for my own consumption. Can I know how many acres is your land from one end to the other . I would also appreciate if anyone can give me approximate cost for 5 acres of farmland around 2 or 3 hrs away from Dallas,( between Dallas and Houston cities ,preferably ).Thank you.

I have 51 acres but only plant around 5 for dove. The advice I can give you is location is key. Dove prefer trees to roost in and survey the field for danger, they also prefer water nearby. Dove also need some sort of grit or gravel to digest their food. Find a spot that meets this criteria nearby and you should be successful. I'll start planting my plots again around June and recording the whole process. Thanks for subscribing!
