Have you heard of Murphy’s law, “If something can go wrong it will, and it will go wrong at the worst possible moment “. Some say Murphy was an optimist 😂😂😂. Regards from Down Under.

I've noticed that things only break when you use them...... All part of it.

There is some spots on the highway right of way at my rural property that I've been mowing for 15ish years and I still leave pucker marks in my tractor seat....

Wow. That is some big metal you broke although part of me wonders if it was not already partially broken since the drawbar slopped so much on the square baler. If used parts are excessively pricey or unfindable? Might try a spark test on the broken pieces with the 4.5 inch grinder and determine if that material is cast steel or cast iron. I have had surprising good luck welding up cast steel with nothing special in the way of rods and I am not much of a welder (self admitted hack welder). Cast Iron on the other hand could be easily brazed, but brazing would scare me on a drawbar type repair. I would not be against fabricating my own replacement parts from heavy plate steel either from scratch from thick plate steel. Or even incorporating a weld repair and adding some lighter steel re-inforcements as a part of the repair to the original pieces.

I am in search of the right parts at the moment. It had been repaired before. 2 little quarter Inch plates had been welded on each side. If I have to I will build something. Hopefully I can find the right parts locally. Friends are handy at times like these. Anything from a 706 to a 1466 should do as replacement parts.

@@rivervalleyfarm482 Dad had a 1066 back in the 1980's and early 1990's. Awesome tractor but it was way too big for us for the few acres we farmed. That all said, I really liked that sway bar system with the pivot weight for the lower 3 point arms. It made it real easy to hook up the lower 3pt arms without having to fuss with it in any way. Additionally, the 3 point arms never flopped around or caught a tire tread when the arms were empty doing drawbar work either. One of the best systems I have seen on any tractor bar none. I would certainly keep that sway control system if you scratch make that bracket from plate steel..

Try to find a small dozer with a ripping shank because that is what it is going to take 😂👍🏻

@@rivervalleyfarm482 my uncle in Southern IL found the solution . Yank the root bed and burn everything , roots and all . He had some with roots buried 10 feet in the soil . They were putting in new fence to keep in his cattle and ran into them . They will kill out other trees by blocking the sun out because they can grow like 2 feet a day . Some of his bamboo were 6-8 inches in diameter . Back hoe to dig out those deep roots would be great to have .
