For people who wants to know were Barry is. I read this on Reddit i quote ''He lives near me, like 10 mins up the street. I bought my rig from him. Just doesn’t care and has many other interests. His main rig was set up for flight when I was there. He said at the end of the day it’s all just hardware that basically works the same and it was getting tiring. He does a lot of photography and competition rifle stuff. Really nice guy, went to buy the rig and was there for like 2 hours. Edit it was cool felt like I met a celebrity from our niche ha"
Miss him here in the UK for sure, thorough thoughtful videos that are easy to understand, and engagingly educational, Take care sir if you happen upon this old man's comment.
Yes this is all true. I've been watching his videos for years and had no idea he lives in the same City as I. I found out about 3 months ago when I bought a handbrake from him. I was at his home yesterday. He lost interest in sim racing but he's doing great! Hope he comes back but I doubt it.
@@TinoushGTR has he started a channel for that? I’d be interested to see his reviews, just liked the guy (even if sim racing is why I found him) cheers for the info 👍
@@TBagger489 yeah really nice guy. Don't know buddy he might. What i hear is that the manufacturers had to pay him so he would make a honest review. With an unknown outcome. They stopped sending him stuff because of that.
Hey men, you have the most complete reviews around, dont let your channel die, you can grab the world by the balls if you include few more main stream products like grafic cards, cpus, consoles, videogames etc. you already have the method!! Take advantage of this gift you have!!
I have been using this shifter for the past 2 weeks, and I'm surprised by how good it is built for the price. But I have 2 complaints that may be related to my setup. The first complain is the wider throw of the shifter means that you must be careful when mounting a handbrake next to it because it will invade the space next to the shifter. I use an NLR 2.0 stand, and in the flat configuration of the handbrake, I hit my fingers every time I go into the 7th gear. This could have been avoided if they had a standard reverse and 7th gear in the same column. My other complaint concerns the spring to engage the Reverse and 7th gear. Since I play a lot of ETS/ATS, I often rest my hand on top of the shifter because I have to do a lot of gear changes. I tend to engage the spring and accidentally shift into 7th or Reverse. Also, I can use the basic shifter functionality after calibration without running the Pit House software. So there is no need to run it in the background at all times. But you do need it to do the initial calibration, and after updates, I also need to recalibrate.
I'm also using NLR 2.0 stand. how many bolts are to lock this Moza shifter in the NLR stand shifter holes? 2 or 4? Also what specific handbrake you are currently using? I presume the handbrake is placed on the right side that has the option for tilt configuration, right?
These are the best reviews. Thank you very much sir 👍 So your rig includes a wind simulator too making long hair dance with the wind 😄 Can I do that with an ordinary vantilator?
I blame all of you savages for making the man lose interest lol. Nah fr tho i understand. When u get all the high end gear and fanfare out of the way its still just a grown man playing video games. Nothing wrong with that but people lose interest in gaming easily. It usually fits at a particular time in our life's, then that time passes and gaming doesnt play the same role it used to. Hope you're doing well Barry. You are a legend!
Had mine for a couple of days and quite impressed so far. Have been using a Logitech shifter with a Leo bodnar usb adapter, so this feels much heavier but the action is positive and not missed a gear yet.
I was wondering why i didn't get to see any notification about a video from this channels and it seems nothing was uploaded for year. Kind of sad because this gave some very detailed analysis of wheelbases etc. All good things come to an end i guess.
Hey man, I hope you’re good I really miss your videos since you do a thorough breakdowns which is missing on the other channels. I want to see the stuff disassembled since I’m an engineer and only that way I can gauge quality. Even if you’re doing flight gear or whatever, I’m interested in everything you take apart haha
i love your old school approach taking time to dissemble units. Now Logitech have finally brought out a pro shifter/handbrake combo and wheel hubs id value your opinion before purchasing
I received my shifter & handbrake earlier to today & am loving them. The whole Moza eco-system offers very good value for what you get (IMO!) I noticed that the shifter accessories had two sets of silicone sound deadeners, so there are spares in case the other ones wear out. Would be nice to know if it was possible to get hold of, when needed. Great videos by the way!
Wow, I really wasn't expecting that type of quality internally for the price. Had this on the list to compliment my other Moza gear, might have to expedite that purchase after your video! Thanks as always!
Amazing work Barry. Thanks for the always very detailed reviews. Could you please review the Cammus 15nm wheelbase/wheel bundle? The price/simplicity/versatility for DIY is appealing, but it would be nice to know your opinion on the build and overall quality.
Also for Mounting, rather than using the 2 Cross bars you used, I just put it directly onto the Alu bar and only used the 2 center bolts and it didn't works perfectly, does not need the extra horizontal support IMO.
Hey Barry, absolutely love the content and you're always my #1 choice when looking into new gear! I've had my HGP for 3 months, and really don't abuse my equipment! Shifter started to feel a bit sloppy an eventually snapped. (Found multiple other users with the same issue) Personally I think it's due to the shaft material. Carbide/graphite etc vs. stainless steel. Have you heard/had any issues with yours? Thx!
All my purchases have been products that you have personally reviewed, and your detailed, unbiased reviews is what drove me to those products. You take even the most expensive, professional or whatever the product tier may be and really explain it as if it was made for a beginner. Love that about your reviews. Hope to you see more soon! Wishing you the best and hope to see you do reviews again.
Hi Barry, hope all is well. Miss your vids. They were always very well done. If you have moved to Flight sims, would you post vids of your flights. I know you have an audience here that appreciates your view.
Unrelated to the shifter, i started noticing during the testing that your hair was blowing in relation to speed. I don’t know how you managed to make that work but its a crazy detail for immersion
It would be nice if someone brings out a kit to reduce the stiffness with at least those ball bearings...as well as a different table clamp where it's not on top of the table, but rather a bit lower and off the end of the table Fanatec style. The combination of incredibly stiff shifts and being so high up and far away means I have to lean forward to shift and damn near take out my shoulder in the process
Any plans to review the simagic ds-8x? looks like the best h-pattern shifter with a (in my opinion) better form factor than the prosim, bdh or mme motorsport shifters, with a much cheaper price.
got this today, thank god i have wheel stand if i put this on table i put throw away the table on how hard to shift this thing. pretty good tho loving it already, i like the clack sounds
Hey great content man, thank you for making these videos, you help out giving reviews on sim racing products and it really helps out. Keep up the good work, but before I go I have a question. I’ve been looking at sim wheels so i can figure out what i want next. Right now I play on Xbox and I have a Logitech G293 with a Logitech G Shifter, and before that I had a Logitech G920 that ended up breaking. The main problem is…well, there are a lot of options and its difficult to figure out a good option for what wheel I would want to get. So I wanted to ask you if you could give any advice on a good simwheel setup that you would recommend. It doesn't matter what brand it is, I'm just looking for a sim wheel setup that is compatible with xbox and has good quality and a good aftermarket support (another thing would be the ability to swap wheels easily but thats not required.) If you could give me good advice on a good simwheel setup, i’d very much appreciate it, thank you.
Hey Barry hope you are doing well. If you can find the time, you should review the new D-BOX RSEAT HF-L4 haptic platform. It needs the ole magic Sim Racing Garage review process!
gotta say, the chinese designed/chinese manufactured stuff is so much better than the american design/chinese manufactured stuff. america fucking blows ass
when I got my shifter from moza it was fine for about 10 minutes then it had alot of side and foward to back play. when I opened the top of the shifter plate I saw the two pins that control side to side seemed to be farther apart then in the video. the foward to back play I haven't yet figured out.
If you want the operation to be quieter, I bet you could fit a piece of vinyl tubing on the shaft in place of the plastic sleeve. I think I'd rather do that than cover the number with a custom part prone to wear and relying on adhesive. $5 worth of tubing and you've got a lifetime supply of backup sleeves. That is, so long as the shifting feel is still sufficiently crisp. But I think it would be as long as the tubing is a cheap thin variety.
A detent on seventh gear is very common on IRL cars. I am not sure about the implementation of the gate ramps. I would expect to see them deeper in the shifter. I suppose this is to keep manufacturing costs down. For me the lack of gate ramps inside is one of only two reasons to consider the Fanatec shifter over this one; the other being the easy switch to linear shifting. The advantage the Moza has over the Fanatec is not the price, that seems right for the build, but the inclusion of USB without needing to buy a special cable.
Just received my shifter. Using the latest software and firmware, to calibrate it properly I had to move the shifter far left and far right a few times within the 10sec. Front and back not needed, otherwise the calibration is off.
What's your daily H Pattern Shifter Barry? Still looking for that perfect H Shifter. There are some awesome stuff out there, but you will have to refinance your home to get one. Done with the spring loaded/none adjustable shifters. They're light with no true tactical feeling. Those tiny springs get weaker over time. Another great review
Good to hear from you Barry, was very quit. Hope you can find your passion back. For me and think many others you are the king of sim. I wish you well for you and your family and hope to see you back once .@@simracinggarage3026
I have this shifter out of order today. When you turn on the 2nd, 4th, 6th transmission, the shifter restarts. I think it's something with the fee. I'm going to apply for a guarantee tomorrow.
Wish more people would make shiters laid out like the thrustmaster th8a, this would end up being way to tall on my rig, same as the simagic and just about every other shifter I've found on the market
If your considering thrustmaster th8 or this go th8 then do the shifter mod feels some.much better and lasts where as the moza hgp ball bearings lose there click over time unfortunately only last about 100h
I sold my Th8a full mod with industrial ball bearing swap and mod rod for this .The Th8a feel like a Toy compare of this moza hgp ,not even comparable, sorry :)
@AtomicFrogTv have taken apart the moza basically has the same system a ball bearing popping in an out , many different mods for the th8 it's more or less the same lol all.good though dude if the moza hasn't gone floppy on you yet that's great 😀
Hi, I don't know anyone better than you to ask a special question. I will be really grateful if you can answer me. i have a fanatec handbrake table mount. is it possible to attach vnm 1.5 handbrake to it. even with a simple DIY solution.
Hi I want some help I am really new in sim racing So I bought a used d-box gp200 it’s very old but I got it very cheap But the problem was one connector is missing Kai-p1 This is the connector to connect the pc to the chair But this connector from d-box is very expensive. Is there any other option ? There is any after market Or any other connector I can use with it ?
Be careful with it I have had mine for a little over a week and it snapped the little shaft under the plastic tube. I am still waiting to hear on warranty
The same happend to me 2days ago. I have it for 2 months now and only 100-150 hours of play MAX . Trying to get a new one under warranty from moza. Did you already got this situation sorted by now?
Same issue here. 3 months of light/medium use and mine snapped in the exact same spot. I'm 17 days in without a response from support. (Everything else about it has been fantastic!) Prefer it over the Fanatec. Ended up buiying the Simagic DS-8X and love it.
