I actually love this over thompson. It has the aesthetic of wooden SMG ala Tommy or PPSH but it has the distinctive german touch of MP40 like the stability, durability and ease of use.

As a romanian, we didn't used the MP41, we used the romanian Orița M1941, which was very similar but not the same. Our weapon used an bolt more similar to the MP38

Yes these are very similar in appearance to the Orița. Romanians did get 20-25k of these as well though. This particular gun was surplussed from Romania several decades ago.

When I was a kid, I used to think rifle style grips were kinda icky, and that pistol grips made guns cooler. Then I tried both. Give me rifle grips all day. Waaay more comfortable. This looks like a massive upgrade over the MP40 in ergonomics. Beautiful gun

Actually! Us romanians had our own smg called the Orița M1941/48 which was similar to the MP41 by a glance because it had the same mp40 style magazine and the wooden stock but the mechanism i belive was very diffrent and it looked diffrent from the mp41. Cool gun tho. I heard it was used the the german medics.

The stock is actually from a Mp28 the machining was no longer in use and German armament thought it would be cheaper to use that then make a whole new assembly and design a whole new stock and just make small modifications to allow a mp40 to sit in a Mp28 stock
