one of the reasons why they switched to the P90 was because the rounds ejected downwards so they could film action scenes more safely.

Oh man, the StarGate Larp is just fantastic.

What we forget is that the ammunition was the clear catalyst for the switch. The 5.7 ammo of the P90 was far superior in penetrating the Goa'uld armour - velocity and sectional density (the round was originally designed to penetrate level 2 soviet body armour) than the round ball of 9mm.

Just a little bit disappointed not to see you using a ZAT gun as a sidearm.

I did the Finnish Brutality 2022 in SG-uniform, had to use an AR15 instead of the MP5/P90 because of longer ranges in the match...oh well, I do believe that the AR is a better platform for inter-galactic operations anyway. Be interesting to see if Amazon will actually to do more Stargate, and if they manage to make it good.

Clearly the power of anime didn’t help….

It's always a pleasur to see Russel just demloshing the ranges with his excellent aim. It's like watching butter melt; so satisfying. If you wouldn't know, you would think that Russel would be clanky due to his weight, but that man is agile, quick and on the spot wehter on the range, or rhetorically on the conclusion afterwards.

Oh man, sucks that Stargate Command has fallen on such hard times... Hope they can find another galactic threat soon to help encourage funding. Cheers! 💚

Just started to rewatch the series for the 10th time.

Its nice seeing newer guys shooting these at a lower level compared to you Russell. Asfter watch You, Ian and Karl for so long you 3 make it look easy. Seeing these two guys do so much more average puts in to perspective your actual skill level.

The match should have been full Stargate theme complete with stargates between sections. Requiring unlocking/dialing the gates manually after the timer starts to enter the stage as well as doing it again to leave the stage and stop the timer. Each stage having a different world code than the stage before it. Don't accidentally enter the wrong code or you'll go back to whatever previous world/stage that was and go again. No dialing further ahead than the next stage either. A missed or unfinished dial just makes you abort/reset the gate and try again all on the clock of course. Ma'Toks could be made with modified golf ball launcher or can cannons mounted on staffs with some sort of blank to operate.

Mp5s can’t get through that pesky Goa’uld armor. Need a p90 for that. What about Naquadah rounds? Did they ever try that?

The switch from an mp5 to p90 is perfect when you consider the threat of the armored Jaffa and the SGCs policy of being explorers first.

Russel &/or Karl, is the straight mag or the curved mag more aesthetically pleasing on the MP5? Thank you for your input on this burning question.

You say the standards have fallen, but the aim seems an improvement. Did the air force (or possibly now space force) ever get in contact with a different branch to find out how to set up a fortified positions around the gate?

...and that's my cue to go rewatch Stargate. There's rumors of them bringing it back, but I don't have high hope for it after Universe and Origins.

Wow, simply adding magpul furniture and a KE Arms mag release will automatically turn me into a real life aimbot with an MP-5?! 🤔😆 I loved watching watching Russell's super human runs, but getting that spinner on the last round with the P-90 was pretty epic 😎 Also 5.7 just slightly pivoting the right knock off plate after multiple hits on that same stage was also kinda funny, but unfortunately grounding and realistic 😐 Although clearly 5.7x28 is still more effective than any type of 9mm in close proximity to anime!👍

Damn. That MP5 is gorgeous. I used to run an Aimpoint on a raised rail. Could use the peep underneath as a redundant.

If I remember correctly, Stargate command switched up to the P90s with its 5.7mm cartridge in the show because of the faster velocity and armor penetrating capabilities that made it easier to take down Gaould energy shields. The MP5s with a 9mm cartridge were proven ineffective against not only the energy shields, but the body armor that the Gaould wear, as well.

Can anyone clarify why there is so much love and hate for grip sticks? Some people have endless hate for gimp sticks and say they make a pivot that decreases accuracy and control other say they're great.
