That's what I'm thinking. That's why they delayed the launch and make no mention of standalone on their sight now. That males it less attractive as I work only in standalone untethered.. From the time I'm using my computer, I can use a myriad of programs that are better then stems and then may as well use some vst plugins that make the mpc ones sound rubbish. And while I'm there, may as well use the powerful audio plugins that I downloaded for free. Heck may as well just use my pc and use the pads to.trigger the sounds on my computer. Not exactly what I invested in the mpc live for. Maybe we will get the powerful live 3 which will be able to handle processing and less memory constraints..
You really should be making beats in controller mode. So much better with your grid on a giant screen. Plus, transferring samples is just a drag n drop.
Without standalone I'll just buy someone else's software that works well with my daw of choice. I still really enjoy my mpc one but it definitely feels like the update team doesn't know what they are doing
@@as_the_turntables yeah..they did… and fumbles happen sometimes..who picks up the fumble tho🤔😉..the ‘ball’ still live, I didn’t hear the refs whistle 😆👂🏽
I don’t know why considering they did exactly what they said they would do. Release for the software first and later for the hardware. What you should do is wait and see what the standalone looks like.
I just got done talking to support. They have no information at all about stand alone. No information about if/when it will be released, or if it is released if it will be free for those that purchase this.
I completely agree, This should've been available upon an upgrade of the MPC to be utilized in Standalone mode without having to go through all that workaround. It should be available right there on the MPC for all users.
Huh? We are waiting for standalone regardless. No harm done in it being released in software while we wait like we are anyway. Akai was 100% transparent when they announced this that it would hit the software first before we would see it in standalone.
@@as_the_turntables 2 GB is more than enough I’d reckon! I honestly think Fabric XL is probably more resource heavy than what’s needed to seperate frequencies. Optimization is key too of course
At this point in time I don't need the MPC stems because I am already doing the exact same procedure using Serato Sample (Free update) I will get the MPC stems when they release it on standalone.
Controller mode was always launching first. This was communicated in all the videos in Jan. Standalone version will follow shortly. When you purchase Stems, you'll have 3 activations which can be used when Standalone version arrives.
@@groovindjIt’s amazing that you know it’ll be a free upgrade when Akai tech support has told several people today that they have no guarantee of such a thing.
Not sure why you couldn't release standalone and desktop AT THE SAME TIME, and if they couldn't be ready at the same time why bother announcing 3 mos in advance? Marketing this stuff like they're video games, SMH
The fact that there is a video teaching how to transfer stems between software and standalone seems like a clue that we won't have stems in standalone mode anytime soon. This may be greater than the available capacity.
Not the case. I made this so it helps you guys with a simple method to move from controller to standalone. It's a super useful workaround. Stems for Standalone will follow soon. Hope this helps dude.
Yall need to fix this no activation button its like I spent my 10 bucks on waiting on yall to fix some shit that should have been ready before purchasing
I had to install the inMusic Software Center and was able to update and activate, so try that and opening the software is the hardware . open it and then navigate using your hardware. it'll work. Best of luck
Well dang. I was so hyped to try stems. I think I've maybe used controller mode once. I just don't use it. Had this been mentioned previously and i just missed it? Oh well. I still love my mpc live!
I’m not a software user either but in all fairness Akai did say it’d come out afterwards. The controller mode got pushed back so far that we should just be getting standalone.
Guess what, after being mailed by Akai showing a picture of this MPC One with Stems on it and saying this is it Stems is available !!! I jumped on the website to order it, and discovered it wasn’t for standalone….. I asked a refund and you know what ????? They told me no sorry we are not responsible if you can’t read properly, Akai will not assume your mistake. !!!!!!!!!!! Ok Akai, I will remember that.
I love Akai, had an MPC 2kxl back in the day, bought a Live when they first came out. Having said that, this is a terrible rollout. LOL Andy, this is not seamless at all.
And the plug in won't even activate in the software or controller mode. Everyone in every forum I've seen is having the same issue. This went from terrible to embarrassing for Akai.
As a longtime and devout MPC loyalist, Akai keep doin the most unnecessary these days🙄how long until standalone update? If I wanted a controller…nevermind
Sad on how they have a standalone walk around in controller mode that sucks a whole lot I have a Mpc mk 11 I sit in my car and make beats who's in controller mode in 2024😅
I get u guys want people to use your DAW. But they have ways of doing the same process in their DAWS, and just wont leave them to use this single extension in yours. PLEASE RELEASE STANDALONE.
STANDALONE ,PLEASE🙏🙏 Ever since my last MPC hardcrashed in controller mode , i never gonna hook up a MPC to a computer anymore. I work in standalone anyway
It's a disgrace! Where's the standalone version! Upgrade your 6 year old hardware. It doesn't work anymore. You can only extort money for every little thing. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
ANDY ... YALL SHOULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL IT WAS READY FOR EVERYONE......MY MOM ALWAYS SAID DON'T GIVE ONE, IF YOU CANT GIVE ALL.. STANDALONE USERS WANT WHAT WE WERE PROMISED!!!!!!.
I strongly suspect that it's hardware limitation causing the stall! I'll explain: When all of this was announced I got very excited. BUT then I considered the processing power to create stems. An MPC controlling a computer would have access to a hefty CPU to create them, whereas the standalone unit doesn't. I have RipX software on my computer (with a powerful CPU) and it can take serious time to separate stems which are superb. My strong concern is that Akai may have over promised on the standalone unit having enough horse power to time ratio to work well enough for production. I seriously hope that this sin't how they will try to sell this! I noticed immediately in the promo videos that the MPC was shown 'standalone' yet there was a usb lead going straight off camera, meaning it was controlling software. Never once has this been shown running on a standalone unit......
Paid for , but doesn't even download, constant error 403 msg, contacted in-music/akai and only got generic useless automated reply. After waiting so lpng and paying really disappointed .Cash down the drain. Seriously Akai , not cool at all.
That’s bullshit Akai!!! Yall premiered this with Illa J and Andy with no computer. What’s up with standalone? What’s the point when I have Serato studio
Nah there was a PC in that illa J video. Look at the screen closely and you can see it’s in controller mode. It has the PC icon in the top right corner.
Lot of negative feedback, I can’t wait to get drums from my favourite records. Even doing it this way is a game changer. There was a day I could only save to floppies and had to save samples across multiple disks and sequences on another disk. It will come eventually.
Akai if you're reading this please make the Stems feature available for Standalone users. Just like you have all the new Plug-ins available when one does an update the Stems feature should be available for MPC users right on their MPC without having to go in controller mode. It would be so much better to have The Stems feature available to use right there on the MPC on Standalone.
That was always the plan. The initial launch was always Desktop Software first in March followed by Standalone. If you've already purchased Stems, you'll have 3 activations available which can be used on Standalone when available.
@AndyMacMPCclub OK, Thanks Andy, by The way I am The First to complete an Audio Modification on The MPC Live II by upgrading The Capacitors making The MPC Live II Sound more like an MPC 2000XL.
Thank you for STEMS! The sound quality is on point. The integration is mind boggling good while I’m on my X SE in controller mode! It’s so much fun and it’s easy and professional quality. This was definitely worth the wait!
MPC Stems doesnt work for the desktop software this whole video is pointless. Click on the link this guy provided and you get ZERO updates to use Stems. MPC 2.14 doesnt even exist for desktop. You only have options to download 2.14 update for standalone machines. IF YOU USE THE DESKTOP SOFTWARE DO NOT BUY MPC STEMS THIS VIDEO IS MISLEADING!! Click the link he provided and you get zero updates for the desktop software and zero help from customer service at Akai besides them saying the servers are slow. Heartbroken waited all this time for NOTHING. They are trying to sell the standalone machines. They dont want this technology for their desktop users and you CANT use it with a desktop MPC Beats program it wont even show up that you purchased it
Yes it is, they just don’t show you the correct way to update. You have to use the inmusic software updater. I’m currently running 2.14 on the desktop, upgraded on 26 March.
I don‘t understand AKAI in their strategy. AKAI is primarily famous for HARDWARE MPCs. They were on the scene long before any software entered the market. So why the hell STEMS comes for this MPC software first??? Why all we standalone users have to wait so long for the standalone version? I don‘t get it. People who buy a MPC X, MPC Live, MPC One, MPC Keys etc. bring the money and not some users of mpc software. AKAI please overthink your priorities. Thats not fair.
When ‘Stemsgate’ gets ‘Mandela effect’d’d’ …imma throw away my ‘tinfoil hoodie’. There’s (as of this posting) a video from akai …software FIRST, THEN standalone…🤦🏾♂️😅😆
Yes it is, they just don’t show you the correct way to update. You have to use the inmusic software updater. I’m currently running 2.14 on the desktop, upgraded on 26 March.
Let me get this straight: I need to buy the MPC Desktop Software (that I'll probably never use) to update and access Stems for my MPC Live II? And I can only use Stems in Controller mode and not just in Standalone Mode?
These are not the same screenshots using MPC X. From Sample Edit>Menu (button)>Program Edit which does not show the screen you have at 1:12 seconds? why is that? and also, the top left corner with the MPC menu drop down, its not "setting"...its "Preferences" in the drop down... Is it supposed to say Settings when you click the dropdown menu under MPC?
Can you explain how exactly you intend to get standalone to work with the current range of mpc at 2gb memory. My i7 with 64gb RAM takes almost a minute.. That's with 64gb. Can you help me understand this elusively obvious issue?
This is just way to many steps...take it out of controller mode.... reboot....reload project.....NAH. By that time youll forget the idea you had....and Im sure its not that fast to process the sample for stems. Yall dropped the ball for no standalone 1st...the hell with controller mode.
I just paid license because I was expecting it to be delayed Stems for standalone standstandalonealone. I don’t use mac in studio. Akai robbed me for 9.99. Marketing idiots from Akai, breaking the good name of this company.
I'm excited that it exists. Buy it now, & save money later. I'm sure it wont be $9.99 for standalone, but we should get it for free once released, by purchasing it now. #TeamAkaiPro #MPC #Subscribe
Someone who is all Team Standalone explain to me why you wouldn't connect to a computer. Because you can plug it into a computer, and plug into a mixer going to a recording/playback device, same as standalone. So why not use the power of a PC? I don't get it.
I hate daws and was reluctant to download the software, but wasnt disappointed when I did. Once you update your MPC to 2.14 your not really using the computer software for anything. But hurry up with standalone.
Please fix the converters, we don't want to carry around a laptop with us again. Team up with Burl, RME, Apogee or someone high end, look at what Pioneer has done with Sequential.
Seamless. Except for needing to be in controller mode, turned off and on again, project loaded, etc. Try harder please, Akai. I'll just sample stems from Serato for free until standalone is implemented.
Akai would have been smarter waiting until Standalone was ready before releasing this. I personally bought the MPC X to get away from computers altogether, yet here we are. 👀
I’d much rather do all of this in standalone, sample and STEM all on the machine, then if needed transfers the project to controller mode. I do everything in standalone.
Sorry i don’t want use a computer i don’t know why it’s no available in standalone mode too that is ridiculous whats is the strategy ? Is it a hardware problem ? I don’t think so !
It s all bla bla bla here.In reality even Installation of Stemps is n t already possible.Even if you paid money for it.Please Tell the peple the trueth.Akai
