Mr and Mrs. Mahi Movie Review & Analysis | Rajkummar Rao | Janhvi Kapoor 

The question should be, how a girl with Doctor's degree agreed to marry a guy without a job, career, future or financial stability?

Day by day I strongly feel Nepo kids are measured on a different scale than the outsiders. Outsiders can not make it to the industry unless they possess exceptional acting skills vs Nepo kids are raved about even after giving one basic emotion onscreen.

Jahnvi is good for insta reels and Koffe with Karan. I've given her enough benefit of doubts. Not going to fall for this trap again. She is so behind in her expressions and Dialogue delivery, that it would take ages for her to come at par.

Rajkumar Rao is now reaching heights with his back to back hits this month itself. Srikanth still manages to gain decent footfalls even after 2-3 weeks while this film gained the highest advances sales this year, beating fighter and other biggies that are released this year. He literally deserved this for long and happy to say that he's finally getting this! ❤

I have been watching your reviews since years man!! But sorry jammy!! Even god cant convince me to accept Jhanvi is a good actor. She just doesn't have it and i dont even to watch the film Its not just about acting or performance that make a artist likeable! There is a vibe(or aura) that makes a screen presence. She lacks it. Same case with Ananya too!!

I just watched the movie and while returning im typing this. Janhvi is just about okay. Dont understand why people are raving about her. She was adequate as was Rajkummar. These roles are cakewalks for Raj. I wish he moves on to a bigger league now and not collaborate with inexperienced and privileged actors like janhvi who are being given so many chances to improve while she does so only marginally.

I don't know why Jahnvi,Sara, Ananya, Disha...all these actress look so artificial on the screen

Something about Janhvi Kapoor's extensive plastic surgery puts me off. I feel like her face is frozen, her body proportions are off and she looks too "curated". Even if actresses do plastic surgery it shouldn't be such that their body and expressions start looking unnatural - Nayanthara and Trisha are good examples of actresses who may have had plastic surgery but that has not impacted their ability to emote.

There is no difference in any of her roles she's played so far in her movies and yet she hasn't even been able to perfect that middle class, chirpy role. The acting looks unnatural, voice modulation is ZERO- like I'm fking bored! Not even hating, these are genuine professional criticisms! I'm so tired of talented non- nepo professionals not getting their due and big projects like this backing them up! It's so infuriating as audience to be stuck with these mid ahh performances! GIVE ME SOME FKING CHOICES AND GOOD ONES AT THAT PLS!

Why is jhanvi kapoor getting movies after movies

Sorry jammy , didn't enjoy the film , old story , very predictable and simple...film couldn't help much the good performances. Rajkumar has to stop by doing such films whic has nothing new to offer for him where he is carrying the film and career of the female leads , from sonam to jhanvi now... He should focus on doing path breaking performances and higher ambitions , like the filmography of manoj bajpayee in recent years

Janhvi Kapoor needs to get out of her stock expressions. The fear and the vulnerability is straight out of Baawal and Mili. She simply doesn't have it to be a mainstream heroine. Junior NTR will have to do a lot of heavy lifting in Devara. Rajkumar Rao though was simply fantastic as Mahendra. He ate the scenery completely. He makes you feel the frustration of Mahendra. The difference is as clear as day and light in the high charged moments. The music was also very good but the movie could have been so much better with a better heroine and solid characterization. Rajkummar needs to movie with Alia. That would be great

Hindi film Industry should learn to edit trailers, apart from animal, most of the movie trailers gives away the entire plot of the movie, in the trailer itself.

The fact that before reviewing a movie, a critic has to address that he is not going to diss it for it for the sake of it, speaks about the sorry state of movie criticism in India, as well as the audience's tribal mentality.

Dhoni.. this word reminds me of a young and hardworking actor who, a few years ago, got his big breakthrough as an actor with Neeraj Pandey. All his dreams were coming true until industry politics started to affect him. A big journalist (now a part of Karan Johar's team in Dharma Productions) wrote blind articles on him and many such things drove him over the edge. Soon his mental health deteriorated and the rest is history. Today, those same people who in some way caused the young actor's misery make a movie on the popularity of 'Dhoni' and will probably laugh their way to the bank. That journalist is sitting in an AC room, having the time of his life in Dharma. This is the reality of life.

Honest opinion : when I first saw the trailer of this movie the thing that came into my mind is the movie looks generic but they got the cast so right. Nobody plays a struggler insecure character like struggler rao he basically turns his every character into that. His father looks like every middle class father who gives a reality check and above all for the first time janhvi looked fit for a role. As a failed actress herself who is constantly pushed to prove herself this role of a failed cricketer perfectly fit her. Overall due to fact they got the casting right, the music right and janhvi out performing this movie might be a surprise in the box-office

Without any prejudice I can say that the only thing this movie made me feel was boredom, and tons of it.

The budget of srikanth is 50 crs and it made 40.35 cr exactly today. Now if u want to add satellite + ott rights by that parameter even fighter isnt a flop or underperformed bcoz it gained profits. So why different methods of evaluation for small and big films? And yes khan films also ran solo on festive releases but then they didnt take 3 weeks to recover film's budget theatrically. Unke films 1st weekend mai hi 150 crs aisa krte the aur 3 weeks tak full blown profits mai hote the just theatrically. Ur math and way of assessing films is damn poor i must say. Ghis ghiske toh srikanth aj 21 days k baad it made 40 crs which is still less than its budget i.e 50 cr...isme b poora paisa producer k paas nhi jayega. What producer gains from 40 cr BO collection is just 18 crs.. now i dont think the ott+ satellite+ music rights of this film could fetch them remaining 32 crs or not which is a big sum..so u calling this success = living in a fool's paradise. Whereas fighter almost recovered its cost of production pre release itself and even though the BO numbers arent that great they have gained profit from theatricals by a huge margin unlike srikanth. The fact that u dont even know how much srikanth earned and blatanlty throwing any random figure like 50- 70 crs shows ur 0 knowledge about films. Google and see its collection that too at a snail's pace with no competetion at all..and still doubtful about its profits. Pre release business and post release theatrical BO are 2 different verticals of a film's recovery of cost of production. While theatrical BO these days is very unpredictable and stars may not guarantee a decent number like they used to pre pandemic, the pre release business are just corporate deals negotiated across tables and for that u need big names associated with ur project for ott companies to b buying them with so much money. So yes starpower does play a role in a film's overall business.

The movie had nothing new to offer in story... it's the same plot we have seen in Abhiman and Ashiqui 2 also... Though Rajkumar's performance and his scenes with Kumud mishra shines..I was hoping they have made something like dear comrade where actually it was the heroine's journey.. Janvi's character had nothing special exceptional.. Cricket was also insignificant like it could be anything..

Man! the Colour Grading roast was a well deserved one, This over-beautification of shots to establish any particular theme just hampers the realistic essence of a Film. Which makes it difficult to watch :/

Never thought i will say this, but somehow jhanvi and ananya seem much more likeable than before - even their body of work has improved considerably..as compared to someone like sarah ali khan who started relatively strong and currently is in a downhill path both acting wise and in terms of social media presence

And sorry not a film critic and neither earning from it, i have a stressful job i would rather prefer avesham which spins my head and take me to other zone. Also i loved stree i watched it over 5 times am telling this because i am not biased towards nepo kida and i loved shraddha in that movie, Fridays i really would want to watch actors who is preferred more and has depth, If someone is given film over film to improve acting you already lost many ticket buyers there.

Average/Repeated/Reavealedintrailer Story. Lackluster songs. Not being able to connect/root to the characters. In the end Rajkumar's character is so hateful. Movie worked ONLY because of Rs.99 ticket that to only for day 1.

I was so annoying to see Rajkumar's character cribbing throughout the movie. There was no place for any jokes or any lightheartedness at all. And Jahnvi is no Sridevi. While I won't like to disregard any film for the sake of it, this review makes me skeptical about any other reviews. It was painful to sit through this movie. Only saving grace was we planned to eat out after the film.

Let's be real.In a world with beautiful love stories like La la land,Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind etc. where does this movie stand ?It's a joke. Bollywood has atleast 1000 versions of this same movie. Give us something new.

Character of Mahindra played by Raj is a very tricky character not easy to play ....some other actor might not play that's character as well as Rajkumar.....also Janvi Kapoor hit out of the park with her performance....she shines in many moments...Janvi slowly but steadily becoming a good actress.... Biggest plus of the movie is it's music 🤩 🤩

Yes, this was really a comin-of-age-film for Jahnvi. I guess, the innocence portrayed in her love for Mahendra was just beautiful. I have not seen any director use her eyes the way Sharan has. I love the way the frames settle on her eyes first, and then you have her delivering her dialogues at her pace. The point about the color tonality in the movie is bang on. It did feel jarring tbh.

I watched this movie and in my opinion, Janhvi did not perform well in her role. Her range of emotions and expressions didn't feel natural to me. I believe that just like any other job, if someone doesn't do well they should be called out. I don't understand why Jammy is always praising her. Even in Gunjan Saxena, you were praising her. I don't think I can trust your reviews from now on.

Jhanvi seems to be picking good scripts atleast, she has definitely come quite far considering the poor performance in dhadak ... Rajkumar ofcourse being his best self as always, Seems like this movie deserves a chance!! ( After the heeramandi fiasco , some of these actors look much better 🙂💀)

I went for this movie today. my friends booked the tickets. I didn't even knew who the actors were. I DID NOT LIKED THIS MOVIE AT ALL. Yes the acting was good especially when Rao begged his father to let hi play. the emotions in his eyes were I will never forget. concept was new but the movie over all I did not liked. even without watching the trailer it was too predictable. one character talks to other character and the character have a change of heart almost immediately. they should have focused more on cricket part.

@Triedand refused productions You seems to have a soft conner for Jhanvi....May be because of the interview she gave you...I don't care if she's a nepo kid or not but after being in industry for 5 years, its no big deal that she is competent enough to play these kinds of roles....I will say she was good but it is still not exceptional or outstanding or her stand out performance....What frustrating is that actress' like Sanya, Yami or Bhumi can do these kind of roles in their sleep, yet they are struggling to get good projects

The movie is really slow in the first half. The dialogues don't feel wholesome but instead feel cringey in the second half especially because of the terrible expressions on the faces of janhvi and rajkumar rao. The good elements were the cricket parts where her batting form and her way of batting was very interesting to watch.You could clearly see the amount of effort she put into her batting which I really like. Also,the movie is a cliche festival. I didn't even see the trailer and still I was able to guess almost everything that happened in this movie. Mr and Mrs Mahi is a movie of all time

I like watching jhanvi Kapoor interview, insta reels but till now I am not able to watch her movies, I like her but I don't know why I am not able to watch her on screen.

It is weird that people criticize Janhvi and her acting so much, but don't do the same for Katrina Kaif, who is a complete non-actor. I thought she was wonderful in this movie.

I closed my doors for this film after seeing the poster and trailer and simply skipped everything about this to film that appeared all over the internet. Jammy may have some good points to tell about the film, but for me... somehow 'cricket' in bollywood movies is a big turn off. It just kills my intetest ti watch the film. As it is theres too much of Cricket around. IPL saga just got over and T20 WC is just about to begin. There's hardly any breather there in real cricket, then honestly who wants to watch 'cricket' in movies which is so badly executed. I give a pass to this Mahi Couple.🙏
