@@RocketScientist LMAO 🤣 YES we all have a bunch of shit in our rafters!! I know I do. I just got my Mr Heater and took it out of the box today so I'm waiting for the temps to drop so I can test it. I have no insulation in my garage either. How are the fumes with this heater? Do you have to open your door or anything like that?
@RocketScientist

@@JoeLazzara there are some, and I usually do crack the door a bit, but it's nowhere near as nauseating as a kerosene torpedo.

Just a quick update! It's been almost a year and Mr. Heater is still working like a champ!

How long did it take to ignite? Mine still hasn’t ignited. Held down switch on the left and repeatedly pushed the igniter. I could hear the igniter pushing gas out as I pushed it but nothing would light. Any ideas or just keep trying? I’m also smelling gas too but I figure that’s normal when hitting the igniter

Thanks for the quick review, just ordered one. I don't need the garage to be warm, just above freezing enough to keep my fingers from freezing.

I used a torpedo heater in between singing karaoke songs in my garage in the winter. Now following your channel as a fellow creator. Full watch my new friend!

I just bought one of these, and am wondering if the noise you begin to hear (a higher pitched nose) when holding the valve button in to get the heater started continues once the heater is ignited and you let go of the valve button. The first few times I didn’t notice that that noise continues, so I thought it was odd when the last few times I went to try it, I could still hear that noise after releasing the valve button and getting the heater started

Hmm.. Never really noticed. I'll probably fire it up soon though it just dropped into the teens here.

@RocketScientist what are the 2 buttons on this, which one is the power...what do the 2 buttons do?
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 3 года назад
There is no power on switch.. Fan is always on while it's plugged in. Buttons are how you ignite it. Hold one in and push the igniter at the same time. Pretty much like a gas grill with the extra button.

I have another question, do you let the heater keep running while you are running out of propane? I let mine keep running today as I was running out, and the flame got smaller and smaller until it diminished. Wondering if this is the right way to do it? Or do you swap tanks when you notice it’s getting low?
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 5 лет назад
Eh I guess I do the same thing.. Usually I'm wrapped up in some project not paying attention to the heater when I notice it's gettin cold again, that's when I notice it's outta gas. It hasn't killed me yet so I think you're good.

Hi. Thanks for the video. Thinking of getting this heater also but wondering if i can use my thermostat from my old kerosene salamander ? Bought the thermostat and by the time i tried using it the salamander died on me but cant take it back now and was wondering. Thank you. Have a good day
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 3 года назад
Eh, not unless you want to turn your garage into a giant bomb. The thermostat would shut it off for you, but you'd have to hit the igniter manually each time to restart, plus the unburned gas would keep flowing. This is a basic, no-frills heater.
@rayjrdibenedetto867
@rayjrdibenedetto867 3 года назад
That makes sense! Use to using the old salamander is all. Thank you for that!!!!! Just thought i could get some use from my new thermostat was all

Did you need to vent your garage? Bought one today .
@RocketScientist
@RocketScientist 2 года назад
Certainly couldn't hurt.. I usually crack the door cause it gets too hot, which also counts as ventilation I guess. They say its not really "needed", but probably a good idea for a couple reasons.. its slowly burning away the oxygen in the room, and if the burner ever malfunctions, it will produce CO, so I also keep a CO monitor handy just in case. I don't worry about it too much.. its never on for more than a couple hours while I'm working on something.
