I feel like the turning point of the scene was when the guy told Ray to shoot him instead of the woman. Even in Ray's hyper-agitated state, that made him feel like he could trust that the guy was telling the truth about the kid.
Ray is 100% about respect and although he hates every person in this situation, he recognised that he was putting himself up as the victim against his gran. That meant something to Ray.
I love this show as much as everyone here but that is a nice touch it's not peak writing/cinematography... Congrats on noticing but there's loads of other things that are done almost perfectly
Ray's friend's daughter had been kidnapped, the guy in this video that said "shoot me" had previously threatened Ray. He'd promised to get revenge on Ray because Ray had killed his brother (in self defense). Ray being desperate to find the missing girl was tracking down any lead he could think of & he became convinced this guy was involved in the kidnapping, hence the barging in and shooting up the place in an attempt to find out where the missing girl was. Unfortunately Ray was wrong and this guy didn't have anything to do with the kidnapping, it was nice to see the guy confess he was a coward and had no plans to follow up on his threats of revenge however.
I wouldn't say the brother was a coward cause he literally beg Ray to point and shoot him instead, he knew davros was crazy AF and told Ray that out of emotions.
The turning point I also feel in this scene is that you know when someone is terrified they spill their guts. So when he apologises for what he SAID to Ray, 1 ray quickly cops that he had nothing to do with it. 2. He immediate offered to take the bullet instead of his grandmother and lastly Ray quickly realises that everyone thinks he's doing this because of what he said to him which makes ray look absolutely insane. Beautiful scene
yea, this is why I don't sympathize with criminals, but at least this show is honest about it, and not trying to romanticize it like every holywood produced junk...
Production team gets more out of a 30 minute time slot then any other show. Every character is fully developed. Fantastic plots, characters, settings. Good luck in future
It's because they don't pad the episode with a bunch of useless trivia and ponderousness. Seinfeld had the same lean construction, which is why it's a sold half-hour of laughs for people who like the show.
So before all this that bearded me who said "shoot me" had a psychotic brother who went after Ray, the bald man with the shotgun, but Ray took him out, beaded brother threatened Ray previously after for reasons he explained in the clip, so after that time Ray and his daughter snd his daughters friend went shopping, rays daughters friend got kidnapped by someone, so Ray went after anyone who had been threatenin him or his family previously, this led to this scene short after.
This is too real. I am 43 now and have cleaned up nicely, but when I was 20, I wasn't a good guy. Some guy owed me some money and another guy wanted in on the collection job. I was simply looking for the guy and wanted to confront him to get my money. The other guy was on another level. Let me tell you, I'll never forget. Next thing I know I was inside the house of somebody who wasn't involved, trying to calm him down, because he said he was having a heart attack, while the other guy was searching the house for the person I needed. Ultimately I got what I came for, but it was way more intense than I anticipated. Long story short, if you want to het the point across, take somebody with you to plead with you to please take it easy. In this case, I was the one pleading. It worked like a charm, even though I never planned for it to go the way it went.
The one thing i noticed that makes Ray absolutely NOT believe you when he's intimidating you if you end up saying "I swear to god" or anything like that. Everyone that said a form of that did not turn out okay.
This is why I relate to Ray so much, not that I'm a criminal, or that I rub shoulders with criminals but, I've dealt with so many people who I know were lying about something and that is one of their go to's. They always swear to God or the lives of their children, etc. 😂
As much as I like ray I wouldn't have been upset if he was leaving and got a bat to the back of the head or hit with some buckshot from another shotgun because, "fuck around, find out" applies especially to home intruders
Imagine If All of the Men just grabbed him and started Dog Piling him. Pretty sure that would teach him some Humility and make his ‘Anger Issues’ go away real quick.
@@baffled_hawk Oh Boy, Don’t you have a Strong Imagination? Imagine a Scenario in which, Ray barges into a House. That House has Men who have Concealed Handguns on them. Ray starts pointing the Shotgun and threatening others. The Men pull out their Handguns & point it at Ray. They manage to get the Shotgun from Ray. After this, The Men start beating up Ray. Get it now?
