I'm sorry to hear that, I've mostly been using this with Tamiya acrylics and I've had no issues with it lifting the paint. I'm going to be testing it out on some Vallejo Metal Colors which are sort of fragile, so I'm hoping it will be just fine with those.
I had the same experience as you with Maskol. It really works when new, but it kills your brushes, cannot be thinned or washed by anything normally available and after a while I opened the bottle and there was just a huge lump of hardened latex, so I had to throw away like 70% of it... I will try this stuff, since I had great experience with Mr.Color lacquers and thinners.
Did you apply a clear coat on the silver? I used the stuff recently. Unfortunately, it pulled all the paint it was supposed mask off with it. Ugh. I was wondering had I put a clear coat it may not have pulled the paint?
That's a good question. I can't remember for this video in particular, but I usually add a sturdy gloss coat like Tamiya X-22, just incase. What kind of silver were you using?
Thanks for the video! I recently bought Ban Dai’s 1:35 Guren from Code Geass and I was hoping to use some masking solution due to all the pointy bits making the use of tape tedious.
Helpful video and creative additional uses. Thanks! Have you used the liquid mask with Tamiya PS (polycarbonate) paint? Are there any compatibility issues? Cheers!
I mostly use Tamiya acrylic paints, and I usually airbrush at night, so I'll leave them until the next day. After the Masking Sol NEO has been painted I usually wait until the paint is dry, then it can easily be removed.
Once again, good stuff! Great background music. Good idea. I just checked my closet. I happen to have a bottle of that stuff! It's the only masking fluid I have. 😊
