Oh My God! I just realized that when young Elliot tells his father "You're just sick and don't want to admit it"... He didn't mean the cancer at all, did he?
"Hello friend" what an impactful greeting as it makes the viewer apart of Elliot as we take this journey together and at the end when master minds says "this only works if you let go too". telling us the journey ends here and the viewer is another personality. Beautiful story telling..
Hands down one of the best shows ever written. The acting by Rami Malak throughout the entire show got better as it went along. Beat GOT for show of the year when GOT was in its prime...that speaks for itself...
I miss Mastermind and these characters as though they were real people, and I don't think that's ever happened to me before with a TV show. This video captured that feeling perfectly. Amazing work.
So it doesn’t bother you that the Elliot we followed was never real? All his pain, sorrows, loneliness, all of those beautiful scenes, doesn’t all this bother you in the least knowing that none of it was real ?.
@@Archonsx Huh? I do think it was real. All his experiences were real. All the alter's experiences were real. His goal was to protect Elliot by ultimately changing the world, and he achieved it! And all of those experiences he had, both physical and emotional, are now part of all of them. Elliot will live in the world that "The Mastermind" helped forge. I mean, that's pretty real to me.
Archons the "real Elliot" we see in the final episode is by no means who the real Elliot is. The Elliot we meet in the final episode is simply Elliot surrounded by his idealistic circumstances growing up and in life. Great parents that love him dearly and would never hurt him. Him marrying Angela who he has always loved. Edward isn't his monster and is alive along with Emily Moss. Elliot is brilliant and the Elliot we see in that final episode is essentially Elliot's full potential of who he could have been had he not had such devastating childhood trauma. Surrounded by the normalcy and love he so deeply yearned for. If you think back to Season 2 episode 4 when we see the Halloween flashback when Darlene returned after being out the city for a while, Elliot tells her that next time, she should call first because he's "going out". Darlene responds saying something along the lines of... "You don't go out... You're....you." She's not talking to the MM there when she says that. She's talking to her brother. And in the final episode when Elliot is in the hospital bed talking to Darlene, he asks Darlene what made her and "him" stop talking before. She tells him that she bailed because she couldn't deal with what he was going through. The "real" Elliot... the one we never met, also has his own serious demons that restrict him from reaching his full potential in life. (The real Elliot very possibly even also used morphine.. as the flashback scene when Elliot first meets Shayla he's doing morphine... and in the S2 E4 Halloween flashback, Qwerty is visible in his bowl, meaning that he met Shayla prior to that Halloween scene as Shayla gave Elliot Qwerty the day they met). The real Elliot is essentially very similar to the MM in my true honest opinion, MINUS being a "vigilante hacker by night". Which is a relief because when it initially felt like we never met the real Elliot... I believe the MM was very similar in a lot of ways - aside from completely forgetting key details of his life once the real Elliot was "locked away".
i just finished the series today and its been like almost 5 hours since i have finished and im still processing, i cannot let go at all. that entire show was beautiful, the ending was beautiful but also incredibly sad. I’m upset that we never got to meet host elliot, i would have liked to know him too, since we got to know mr robot and mastermind so well. It made me real sad that mastermind was fronting for so long that he genuinely forgot he wasn’t the host and couldn’t face going back to the inner world, i wish him and elliot could co-pilot sometimes or go co-conscious like how mastermind and mr robot did for season 4 just so mastermind can still experience life too. its just really sad :( but Darlene deserved her brother to come back 😭
Man, that comment about the “powerful group of people running the world in secret” refers to the mastermind and other personalities in Elliot’s head as well as the invisible government hand. Wow
0:33 - That shot always gave me chills. The 2 versions of Elliot that pulled off the impossible and are thinking about all they have been through together to come to that single moment of triumph. A hell of a ride.
I love the shot you ended with! Those few lingering notes at the end are so reminiscent of the one from the show. I watched this like six times in a row. Amazing!
People are sleeping on this series if they have not seen this. One of the best TV series in the world. Period. Great job on this, no spoilers at all 😏😉
Absolutely loved the montage. The music the shots and dialogue combined together you did an amazing job. Finished the show couple hours ago and sill can't stop thinking about it. I'm so mad at Esmail that he didn't give us at least one scene of real Elliot. At the same time I feel so sorry for mastermind. He worked so hard to "save the world" devoted everything and suffered so much and now he can't fully enjoy the world he helped make a better place. He has to sit idle by and see how it all plays out for him so depressing...
People aren’t gripping with the ending but you gotta realise they’ve been setting this up the whole time. From the time elliot (mm) completely forgets his family, to when his reason to save the world is pretty vague (I just wanted to save the world) when he didn’t know what he really wanted was to protect elliot (h). A lot of things have their answers because of the ending. I mean think about it, would a normal dude go out to try and hack the world’s biggest corporation for no reason to just *maybe* save the world? And he was willing to let people have their lives destroyed because of his goal. Idk, just my thoughts
Hello, friend. Hello, friend? That's lame. Maybe I should give you a name, but that's a slippery slope. You're only in my head. We have to remember that.
Yeah. Poor guy was made to hold nothing but misery inside him. And then after forgetting everything and losing so much. He doesn't even get his happy ending that he so deserved.
CallMeCharley i cant stop watching this video. If it didnt have spoilers i would use this as a trailer to send me friends. Could you make a spoiler free one? Like a trailer eventually? If not I understand. AMAZING WORK
Austin Gaming ooo that's an idea! yeah sorry this isn't spoiler free in hindsight that may have been a better idea hahah i was just too mind blown from the finale
CallMeCharley me too. It was amazing. Ive been searching to try and find a better video than this, and i cant! The music, with the choice of lines and imagery. Is fantastic. My fav parts are “how do you take off a mask when it stops being a mask” and “see me elliot alderson. I am here. Now im gone “
*SPOILERS* Can someone please explain to me what made the Eliot that was our protagonist specifically a "Mastermind"? He seems the least qualified personality to have that title in my opinion and I've rewatched the show twice just trying to understand that part of the twist ending which eludes me. Mr. Robot and the REAL Eliot seem to have come up with everything, he just did the follow-through, am I wrong?
The “Mastermind” personality is meant to be representative of Elliot’s anger at the world due to all the vile shit his father did to him. As a result of this anger, the Mastermind is trying to make the world a better place for Elliot in every way it can. That’s where the plan to destroy E corp comes from. This personality became so all-consuming that it sometimes forgets that it’s just a part of “Elliot” (like in S1 when he tries to kiss Darlene after forgetting she’s his sister). That’s why it’s called the Mastermind, it’s not necessarily because it’s the most intelligent part of Elliot, just the most powerful.
Andrew Febriyanto the Elliot who has the happy life in Mastermind's brain is the Original Host Elliot. The happy life wasn't real but was a prison loop Mastermind trapped him in, but he's released at the end of the show.
@@CallMeCharley one more again. The Elliot host who said "hello friend" it's for who? We as viewer? Or Mastermind. And in the last part of final episode Elliot wake up and darlane looks like she know that is real Elliot. So bassicly real Elliot is host Elliot who talk with us?
@@andrewfebriyanto3936 The one who always says hello friend is Mastermind. I think the only times we see Host Elliot is during a flashback when Elliot was fired from his past IT job and within the mind loop at the end of the series. A month before the first episode is when Mastermind Elliot fully takes over.
