@@NeilVegetaDang Prices are rising in Japan. And good products are running out. I've been a fan since watching the MR-S in this video. It's very fast. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NqaWng6-_dU.html
@@NeilVegetaDang I own 2001 MRS, with the same color, same rim color (slightly different design tho), but without the roll-bar. Now that MRS is gaining back its popularity, I'd just keep it a little longer and see if the market value increases too
Same, I got mine for £4k in 2019 with the car only at 60k miles. Was so worth it and am looking forward to swapping a 2zz into it. Only issue is insurance rates
Those seats look great, I'd probably look into getting those too! It does having surprisingly more storage than I expected with those compartments behind the seats
I’ve actually changed out the seats since then abs have sold the red JDM seats haha. They were great but I’m running bucket seats now (peep my latest videos!) It’s definitely more practical the people think!
True words 🙏🏼 it's really crazy how the prices are going up right now. Here in Germany it is not that bad yet but you can still notice it. I just love that the MR-S seems to finally get the appreciation it deserved many years ago :)
I’m happy it’s starting to get appreciation as well. Just not happy that all the aftermarket for it is now going up also haha. But just means we gotta work smarter and harder 😂
Hey man! Love your MR-S! I noticed that your shift boot sat a couple inches below the bottom of your shift nob. I apologize ahead of time if this is solicited, but I had the same problem with my shift knob. To fix this, I put a rubberband under the shift boot, lifted the boot to the bottom of the knob and then slid the rubberband up to the top. It has worked really well for me and just wanted to share!
More videos coming for sure 👍🏼 And I’m seeing them average around $7-12k at this time lol it’s crazy but it’s rare, handles very well and unique. Well worth it.
Kinda wish I never sold mine, but I had to at the time. I got it for $3k, so it really hurts to have to pay over $10k for one now. Maybe after I leave California and get my GT-Four.
Greate car and vid. I have very simmilar mr2, black, facelift red seats, rear roll bar. Except one thing, I swaped 1zz to Honda k20/k24 and it is another animal now) Good luck.
I have prefacelift black with red interior for 3 years now! Such a fun car! Great video! You just got a sub! Looking forward to see where you take the car!
Thank you young brotha !! Showing the car and sharing things about it I always loved these I can remember many moons ago when the dealer lots were scattered with these I am searching one out
Thanks for tuning in! It’s a car that just keeps getting better the longer I own it. They’re still quite available on Facebook marketplace and OfferUp!
Looks exactly like mine. Don't know who came up with the silly Midship Runabout name but I'm pretty sure the folks at Toyota did not initially. I prefer Roadster to Runabout.
I love your MRS, its sick in black, my is red :( I have own it over 2 years as my daily I love how it feels. Most of the car guys denies my MRS I don't care about it. I wonder how come the value of MRS went up? (When most of people will go for S2K or Miatas)
The MR-S is gaining popularity and trending because people are learning about its capabilities. That’s why the market value is going up. Becoming higher in demand
Thanks man! They’re loads of fun and extremely lightweight. I recommend checking out my newer videos too as I’ve made quite some changes to it since this one haha
Clean! gotta disagree with the cup holders though- i always end up elbowing the rear cup holder while shifting & my water bottle flips out of the front ones 😂 What kind of knobs are those on the dash?
I have short arms so that’s probably why it hasn’t been an issue for me haha. The HVAC knobs are from @MidshipGarage ! Gives it a modern touch and looks far better than the stock ones in my opinion.
Wouldn't taking the spare tire out affect how it handles since the car is so light? Like, you just took out a lot of weight that was holding the front wheels down and shifted more of the weight towards the back. Maybe I'm just weaksauce, but spare tires are kinda heavy...
Good question! I’ve never driven an MR-S with a spare in it so I have nothing to compare mine to. Mine didn’t come with one and none of my MR-S pals have one lol car has handled just fine and well regardless though!
Thanks man! If you check out my latest videos my car looks very different now lol. Definitely get one if you find one, I love the MR-S platform. And the road is Glendora Mountain / Azusa in SoCal
Not sure what you mean. A tail as in GT wing? Check out my newer videos for updates on it! I’ve actually changed and added a few things including a wing.
I've always loved the mr2 the first generation when I was 18 i jumped, over this hill at 90 miles per hour, stupid acting out my Ferris Bueller's Day Off, awesome classic movie, but i remembered how it bounced twice off the ground, and i hit the breaks fast it stopped on a dime, it was a friends car he let me tast drive it from there i was hooked, your car is awesome, i like the convertible as well I think they got a bad rap they never really had a good chance to develop but all the aftermarket stuff makes up for did not get a chance to develop anyway super awesome car you got there put a small little tell to balance the car out a settle look something like not something super not obnoxious that just destroy the whole look of the car looking forward to see more of your videos have a good one😎🤙🇵🇦
Hi! I mention in the video that it’s the TRD lip kit. You can find it on google. VIS and Duraflex makes the trd style lip kit as well. Hope you get a good set!
@@fortheloveofnoise That’s a bummer! I have to drive diagonal over bumps and dips. I’ve gotten stuck on speed bumps twice and the second time had to get pulled out by a truck lol. But the car looks 10x better with a kit for sure. I never liked how it looked stock body personally
@@NeilVegetaDang Thanks for your quick response, the brake pads from ebc are really the best and I think they do a good job with the standard brake too, but unfortunately the small brake discs look really ridiculous so I put some good old steelys on my MR2 to hide it. I'm still searching for a cheap way to upgrade to a bigger rotor without spending a fortune on wilwoods etc. If anyone knows a solution plz dm me! Keep it up and greetings from Germany
I love them both. But the MR-S just a bit more because it’s rare in comparison to the S, handles better, you can easily swap to add power to it for a better power to weight ratio that’ll still be less expensive than what an S runs for. Also the best part: 3 cup holders. None of which are in the shifters way
@@NeilVegetaDang thank you for replying to my question. You’re truly convincing me to get MR2s ove that S2000. Your car looks so fly can’t wait to see more content. 🙌🙌🙌
The car has been updated a bit since this video haha. You can check out all my current mods listed and described on Automotive Anatomy’s channel. “2002 toyota mr-s” feature 😁
