MrTieDye Tying a Slip Knot: A Basic Technique for Tie Dyeing with Sinew or Kite String

In this video, I demonstrate how I tie my Slip Knot when working with Sinew, plus how I tie the large knot when I am finished with the tie and cutting the sinew... the large knot makes it easy to find after you have batched and rinsed the tee and are ready to un-tie it.

Thank you so much for this. I have been struggling for a couple of days trying to make a slipknot per other people's instructions. I should have just gone to your instructions instead, duh!! I have a thick hoodie to dye and the rubber bands were not cutting it. Bless you. ♥️

My dyslexia makes this impossible for me. My short end controls the size and then unravels. Can you do it 3D?

I am not sure what you mean by doing it in 3D ... but I can explain more ... I am right handed, so I hold the roll in my right hand and with my left, I hold the end of the string/sinew or whatever you want to tie a slip knot in... then with my right hand I fold to rope to make a loop and then I wrap the long end around the loop while still holding the short end with my left hand... this will make sure the long end (that is connected ted to the roll) is what controls the slip know so you can open it large ... the key is to hold the short end (in my left hand) while you tie the slip knot with your right hand ✌ ... I hope this helps

You are welcome ... I try to help where I can... and thank you, ... and no I have not stopped with OWB... just have different products for different processes .... this has been a fun design to do and I plan to explore and see what I can do with OWB and the hashtag design
