Ms Dynamite, so underrated. This tune needs to be re-released in 2021, this the is real stuff with a mesage and will never get old. Show the youngens what really influnced them and this is how you can do it without decreasing your garments
Well yes - my old man gave me a talk back in the 70s when I was a teenager about diamonds, gold and the situation of Africans in the countries where those things are mined. I never forgot that talk, even today at 59 years old I have never bought or worn jewellery with precious stones or metals.
Ahead? Those Africans were dying before she was even born. Centuries and centuries. She was just talking about what was happening at the time and even now. It's contemporary. She wasn't ahead, it's just that the vast majority of ppl were and are blind and don't know enough about current affairs or Africans (continent and diaspora)
@@rufdymond I'm the same. I'm 20. I never had that talk but I just know thing you know - I get a feeling ... like idk but as a kid I just never associated Jewels with the West, I knew there was more to the story somehow and when I found out where they came from I wasn't shocked at all. But yeah I don't want all of that really. 😕
Some tunes just need re-releasing every so often because of relevance. To me this is a classic and will never get old. The message is deep an the tune overall is big! I miss Dynamite in the game
Yeah apart from Lily Allen no offence to her but her whole music career was an act, just look at her house tour recently but love Amy Winehouse and Ms Dynamite they are the greats!! 👏
I came after reading in Akala a book just now about miss dynamite being his sis! I remember loving this song as a young teen but had no idea the depth of the lyrics interesting to listen back glad i was listening to good tunes back then also
This tune just proves the UK was not ready for an artist as talented as you. They didn't deserve you. Bet if you were blonde your career woulda been a different tale. Respect.
She saw what was coming in the new generation but no one followed suit so now it’s way beyond violent now, we need an artist to stand up send a message to these youngens and tell them to put the gun/knives down and get an education and make a difference that way.
I first heard this banger when I was 11 years old. And it was my favorite songs back in the day. I used to watch the music video on VHS almost everyday. As I got older I stared listening to the lyrics carefully..I found out that this song was ahead of its time. I am 31 now. And I still love this song❤
The swag is so early 2000s. I can’t believe I was 8 when this came out, this was one of my favourite songs at the time along with sweet like chocolate.
I'm hearing this for the first time in 2018!!! This is some hard lyrics. No wonder I've never heard it. Singing against the bling culture that keeps getting blacks killed? This is a big tune!!! Love you Miss Dynamite. The name suits you.
I remember and love this tune back then. Forgotten how dope it was. Ms Dynamite really create a masterpiece and a masterclass on how music should be done with this and she was quite young then. Incredibly positive and still banging. Awesome Ms Dynamite...we need this type of tunes back.
Strong song Powerful message. Ms Dynamite sings, raps,Scots totally polished performance. WTF happened to HIPHOP? I come here often. UK LEDGEND 🇬🇧 F** Dat World wide Heroine, & LEDGEND. Need this style back in 2023 & Onwards!!!!!!!! Gubbzdadon@#288 - themoKingz
I love listening to this track. I use to get hype to bump it anytime it came on. It takes me back to the few years I lived overseas. Good times. A lot of the youth need to put this on their replay list. A time with a banding w beat & positive lyrics are always a plus.
@@Trudon this way back more than 17 years ago. When Ms Dynamite went to promote her music in America. And it was an interview with 50 cent here in UK. He was asked which British artists he liked and he mentioned Ms Dynamite. He said quite a few positive things about her and her music and that was pretty cool.
Damn, I haven't heard this tune in ages. I was 9 when this came out and I feel blessed to have grown up in this era. Such a cool tune and Ms. Dynamite was my crush growing up.
Feel like she’s criminally underrated in comparison to similar artists like Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, she should be more recognised for how talented she is!
I've always loved this song and watched it over and over when it played on the music channels back in the day. Catch it half way and flip to another channel to try and catch it from the beginning. I miss those days.
just listened to this for the first time in, probably 20 years or so? I remembered it but I never really appreciated the lyrics. very meaningful and underrated song.
