I dont find vlsi in most of the universities website . And 1 doubt is whether we have choose our specialisation at the time of application or after going there.
VLSI is offered as a specialization in an MS EE/CE program and not as a standalone program at these Unis- also it comes under different names like Integrated Circuits etc. Some Universities instead of offering as a specialization, just offer VLSI related courses as electives. And to your doubt- You choose your specialization once you get to the university but you should mention in your SOP. For help with applications and visa- +918125322444
Hi sir, Very informative video !! Whats the probability of getting into tier 2 colleges for VLSI domain, with quite a low CGPA of 7... And tips for increasing my chances......
Tier 2 colleges (100-250 rankings) is doable- not all of them but there are some Universities that have admitted our students with low GPA. Do get in touch for guidance- +918125322444
Hi sir. I had got admit from Colorado State University, arizona State University and San Jose State University. So according to your opinion which uni is good to pick.
Received an offer with a pathway scholarship form UIC, but I’m not sure if I should go for it l. given the fact that I can’t not much vlsi jobs in Chicago.
Hi i had completed UG EEE and i am going to choose ECE but many of them said ECE vlsi but i doesnt see in the college website i see ECE alone can anyone clarify me regarding this?
Hey! In most of the Uni's you don't have Masters in VLSI alone, its something like part of electives you choose at masters in Electrical/Electronics engineering
Most of the universities offer MS ECE with VLSI track (or integrated circuits). For further guidance on university shortlisting and profile building - +918125322444
I got admits from San Jose State University, San Francisco State University, Portland State University, Iowa State University, Arizona State University, University of California riverside. Could you please suggest one for VLSI?
Hey that's quite a few admits you got. we can get on a in-depth conversation about this- I need to get more context and details. You can book a one-on-one session with me here- topmate.io/jayasurya_pathapati/
I dont know much about vlsi but iam interested to get in to vlsi for masters so this is good choice or not what are the basics we have to learn before entering the university. please clarify my doubt so then i decide what to do
Get top know more about the field. Join a good VLSI institute here in India - do some projects. That will build your profile. Its tough to get jobs in USA without relevant project experience in the field of VLSI as it is getting more competitive. Im planning on pursuing btech in electronics (vlsi design and tech) which is a new branch. So will mtech in vlsi be a good option since i would have already studied vlsi in depth at the btech level?
@@DrRajusConsultancy I actually want to pursue masters in USA since I want to settle there. Then would you recommend a masters in vlsi itself? I'm wondering if It would be beneficial since my btech course is itself focused on vlsi.
@@ashwini8609 An MEng course (Professional Master's) in ECE Vlsi would best fit you. These are 1-year master's courses that give you access to the US job market. In case you need further guidance - +918125322444
Sir, I have a small doubt in the selection between these colleges sir : ASU, UT Dallas, State University of NY at Albany, University of IOWA, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State University. According to your opinion what are the list of top 3 colleges irrespective of fee sir in VLSI
These universities all belong to wide range of tiers- NCSU will be my top pick - but its good for Digital Signals design- for Analog and Mixed there are others. What are you looking for in particular? Which sub field within VLSI do you want to get into? Because universities vary based on that as well- don't be swayed by rankings, there's a lot more to university selection process (your profile and career goals being the most important metrics). UF, Gainesville is a well-reputed university for Engineering across all streams- so the MS EE with Electronics Integrate Circuits Track will be a good quality option. Florida also has a strong concentration of VLSI Design-based companies- especially in the Tampa Bay region- with many job postings for VLSI Design Engineer and ASIC Design Engineer roles (Source, LinkedIn, and Indeed). You can confidently go ahead with your decision- All the best! If you need help with I20 and Visa processing, do get in touch - +918125322444
Thank you for the reply. I've received an offer with a $15k scholarship from Illinois Tech, but I'm unsure about its reputation in the VLSI field. My other offer is from ASU with no scholarship. Which do you think offers the best ROI?
We can discuss this one-on-one where I'll be able to provide a better analysis. If you're interested, you can schedule a call here- topmate.io/jayasurya_pathapati
I got admits from University of Minnesota, Portland State University,Arizona State University. Could please suggest one for VLSI . It's urgent to finalize😪
For VLSI, all three universities are good. However, both UMN and ASU will cost you twice as much (Tuition fees-$50,000+) as Portland State University (Tuition fees around $25,000). If you look at Return On Investment, Portland State University is pretty good, and you can choose it without any second thought! But if you are Brand and reputation-oriented, you can select UMN. Job outcomes-wise, all these programs are equally good. So, I would pick Portland State University for its low cost, good VLSI curriculum, and Location. Hope this helps!
@@DrRajusConsultancy i got admits from Rutgers new Brunswick university and asu for electrical and computer engineering which one should I select please reply sir
You can shift into ECE but you'll require to do a few pre-requisite courses. Tier-1 will be possible depending on your profile. For more info - +918125322444
The states mentioned are backed by semi-conductor labor market reports in the USA. If you have data that proves otherwise, please comment with the link to the report. It will help students make the right decision. Other states like Arizona, Virginia, and New York are also good options, but according to the reports I have reviewed, these are the top five states that have popped out.
Yup a pretty good Uni- the MS ECE here has become pretty competitive so you should have decent GPA (8 and above) and apply early. They do have Spring Intake. If you need help, get in touch- +918125322444
The jobs in Semi-conductor industry are VERY broad. Really depends on what your education background is. Core VLSI design, IC Manufacturing etc are for ECE/EEE people but again other specialized streams in Materials, Chemical etc can also get in. People form other streams might have other jobs around supply chain, manufacturing, R&D etc If you want to guidance to apply for the right master's degree abroad, get in touch- +918125322444
