MSD 6al-2 Programmable vs. Streetfire 

Alex, looking back at your trunk and gas tank video I wanted to let you know what we did when welding an area with a big gap behind a weld. I have done many weld jobs in the Navy. What I learned is when welding on steel and you have a hole or area behind your weld where there is nothing. Instead of using aluminum. Place a nice thick piece of brass behind it. We weld filled holes on submarines all the time. We just grabbed a piece of brass solid stock/ round stock 2" or so in diameter by 2" in length. Just a simple slug. Then hold that behind your area to weld where there is nothing behind it and fuse your two areas of steel that way. Hope this helps out in the future.

I am really excited to find your videos. I am serving in the Navy and I am almost out. I have had my 1969 Plymouth Valiant that I bought before I joined the Navy sitting at mom and dads this entire time I have been in the Navy. It is a dream come true to have someone I can look forward to seeing you build your Valiant. I have had my Valiant for 19 years just waiting for me once I retire from the Navy. I like hearing the old mopar starter, the new ones sound like any other out there.

Looking forward to first fire! Don't forget to plumb in your wastegate on the exhaust drive side! I know a lot of gas setups don't do that but it means you can run a smaller exhaust housing to make more torque and have better response while not having to worry about the top end.

My fitech could NOT get a clean tach signal off the mopar distributor. Fought it for an entire summer till I switched to the MSD. I was running a mopar orange box though. It will be interesting to see how you fare with your setup.

What did u mean about no msd if I put that distributor in.i have a 86 w250 with 360 stock motor hooker header 5902hkr dual competition exhaust ported stock heads.now working on ignition system and camshaft. So if I get that distributor and adjust the timing I don't need the msd.i just won't a get up and go street truck.

Those street fire cdi boxes are complete junk, I’ve had two failed me and said no more! First one died before the warranty ended and replacement died shortly after
