@@rockelino I actually live in another country and it costs 300 usd cheaper here. aside from the crazy prices I would pay for importing it. otherwise I would surely deal with them.

I have a GE73 Raider RGB from GenTech with a 1070 with liquid metal on CPU and GPU that I abuse every day and travel extensively with and it still runs and looks brand new. They do an awesome job and were a dream to work with as a customer.

Gtx 1070 giving 100gpu and i7 giving 1154cpu no undervolt

look, if you get an rtx 2060 and turn on Ray tracing, it will destroy your framerate compared to an rtx 2080/(max q). the rtx 2060 is supposed to be an equivalent GTX 1070 with Ray tracing, and if you turn off Ray tracing, you bought an expensive GTX 1070. so get the GTX 1070 if you don't want your framerate just dropped hard.

DLSS is meant to improve UHD performance, the MSI only has a 1080p display. For someone like me (not a competitive gamer), I would much prefer a 4k or even QHD screen option, particularly with a 2080 under the hood.

@irin Santos it depends how much extra bucks, I went for the 1070 Max q one, because it was £400 cheaper than the 2060 one.

RTX cards have lower than usual results on Firestrike. It's an older benchmark that uses DX11. Timespy on the other hand better utilizes this chips feature set thus performance passes even desktop 1080s on those runs.

@@ElRicoPico I get that, but a 2080 beats a 1080 in it, a 2080 Ti beats a 1080 Ti, yet here we have a 2080 losing to a 1070. Thats a huge spread lost.

It's a TN panel but IPS-Level.

They fixed it in the new GS75 model. It makes no sense not to fix the 65.

@@QuestioningYourSanity it's not fixed on the GS75 totally. The NVME drives are now more accessible, but the RAM and heatpipes (if you want to repaste) are still on the other side of the motherboard which means it has to come out.

No difference just one is bigger (the 75) and ones smaller (the 65)

I have the 1070 max-q version of this I only get about 5hrs but that's with screen near full brightness and audio through the speakers

It only gets 8 hours if you set it on ECO mode, reduces power draw on cpu and lowers the clock speed.

Nah fam, i did open up my gs65 to apply LM.. the heatsink here is exactly the same as mine. It seems now that msi did a better job with gs75, but did not actually upgrade the cooling on gs65. Which is a shame cos only one heatpipe for the cpu, no matter how wide it is did not do well in my device, i was still getting 47-50+ on idle even after applying LM. While the gpu was nice and cool in both idle and on load. And Yes, i double checked if the heatsink is sitting properly or not. Only way i could reduce cpu temp was by running it on ECO mode from dragon center which limits clock to 1.1ghz, which would stutter sometimes in normal tasks like running a few chrome tabs. But again, without ECO mode you won't even get half of the battery life msi advertised with this device. I did calibrate battery, updated ECM and bios, but nothing could make the device reliable enough. Not to mention the chassis is softer than an empty soda can! If you leave it on your desk for most days, go for it. If you must carry your laptop every day, i wouldn't recommend it. I've just ordered a blade15 with 2070mq, let's see how that one fairs

Quazi Ahmmed Funny I had the same laptop as you and repasted with liquid metal, and it idled at about 35-40 Celsius.

@@alipacheco5877 the ambient temp was about 10-15 deg Celsius with heating on in my room. but i'll admit, not every device is made equal

@@arthuranderson1237 The motherboard. I am guessing it has to do with heat management. But makes it hard to upgrade/replace RAM and storage unit.

@EJSC lol, for the previous model I was quoted $150 Australian service charge (nearly 100 euro) But I would have done it myself no probs. Just wasn't happy enough with the design, considering I would have it connected to power and hdmi all the time and those ports are very badly positioned.

I guess that it was a design choice, due to prioritizing a proper cooling. You can see the heat pipes totally take the back space of the laptop. So it was difficult to place I/Os in there. Actually hdmi cables can be softer than what we normally see. For example., the one that came with the Wii U is the softest hdmi cable I came across. I really love to use it on my current laptop.

whitehorsept I’m sure if they wanted to they could get the same cooling by redistributing the heat pipe footprint to allow for a hdmi at the back.. but I would be happy if they just located the power and hdmi ports to opposing sides of the machine, which they surely can do. I’m not sure if a 4K capable hdmi can be as thin as you say (I’ll have to look into that), but if the port just didn’t overlap the power input then I’d use a right angle connector and be satisfied. Maybe next year’s model will finally solve these things and this would be 95% the perfect laptop. (loses 5% for those downward facing speakers)

Ick with the number pad. Just key bloat and makes everything off center. (I use laptops on my couch, # pad is waste of space imo) Get a 17 in if you want number bad.

Robyne U lol I just said because it doesn’t have dedicated click buttons. Think about it a simple example. Let’s say I buy regular laptops. Left click and right clicks. Whether it’s integrated into the touchpad or not. But then you buy a MacBook with it’s single click and you find you can no longer right click buy you need to tap two fingers for the same action as opposed to a single click. That is pretty inconvenient. Only my major inconvenience is that messing around the touchpad to find left or right click a chore without looking as I find I’m either trying to click the middle of where the left or right click is so it doesn’t work or I’m still on the same click button I didn’t want even tho I moved my hand enough. If I have actual buttons, if I touch the left one instead of the right one. I know I just move my hand over and that’s solved. Like removing Braille. Now it’s no good for the user cos they can’t feel it.

I agree the click buttons are sadly missed. At least the keyboard is my preferred layout (full size arrows and the pageupdnhomeend column on the far right) which is a rare find these days. But the side hdmi and crazy overlapping positioning of the hdmi/power ports is the biggest deal breaker for me!

But the sexiest chasis of them all. Come on, if you want pure power, go Desktop 2080 TI. This laptop is a compromise between size, protability and power. Can't have it all, my friend :)

@@Ragnar.Odegard You are totally right. The power of this beast is phenomenal. I am just a little sad because they have bumped the power supply from 180W to 230W and yet they still have the same 80W power limit as with 1070MAXQ.

it does have a steelseries keyboard actually. cooling can't really improve unless they reduce the size of the battery, get more effecient chips or make the laptop thiccer...

on the website they do mention the keyboard to be steel series.

Fans are probably on auto, honestly I had the 1070mq model and with cooler boost it chills at 75-80 but it is significantly louder.

KB24 both have their faults. This has a flipped motherboard and the zephyrus comes with 8gb single channel ram. You want to get dual channel ram as it does make a good difference in your FPS. I’d say go for the GS75. It’s not much bigger in size and will allow for better cooling and you can upgrade to dual channel ram.

gs75 has a number pad and is 17 inches
