Just wanna say it's so damn refreshing to hear a RU-vidr react so calmly to a blowout like the Spell Pierce find. Almost anyone else would be moaning and bitching about Azcanta, saying they can't wait for rotation etc. But you keep things so low key. It's made it hard to even watch other channels because the complaining is so annoying. Big ups for always keeping your cool. You're a true pro.

Favorite streamer by far for that reason. I love playing magic. I love watching people play magic. But I can't stand... other streamers in general? Negativity, complaining, getting way to excited/loud about stuff, constant in-jokes that I don't get.. woof. I'm sure there are other good streamers out there but I haven't found em yet. Plus I feel like I learn a lot when I watch and see cool lines I hadn't thought of, and a lot of good discussion about how to read opponents etc.

@@hrwise89 Agree 100% with you on this. He's humble too, look at 32:00 where even he realizes the potential for his own misplay, not as an excuse but as something to observe and learn. I believe the sport of Golf and game of MTG are similar at least in this one respect; that the true character of a person can be entirely revealed by how they play the game and ultimately their behavior in both victory and defeat.

This has nothing to do with Azcanta. Just pure luck by the opponent. Even more so since it was the 2. one allready. So its normal that some people would moan about it. Anyway I can recommend watching Todd Stevens as well since he is usually pretty relaxed about things as well.

@@rostigerrolf4490 Moaning is not normal unless you moan when you get lucky too. It's part of a game, there's nothing to moan about. You just need to accept that you are not a special snowflake and that things even out for everyone over time.

Interested to see this work with Dread Presence, creature that does damage when swamps enter the battle field. Know it's a little janky, but always find the unorthodox decks to be more entertaining.

wouldn't keeping a World Shaper on the field effectively negate Liliana's ultimate anyway?

couldn't you leave world shaper on battlefield so on Lilliana's ultimate you sac it and return lands so ultimate become irrelevant?

Not a rules expert but I think you are correct. Keep in mind though if world shaper is your only creature you have to keep it.

Man, I've kinda been playing Arena very scarcely since War came out, neither the draft nor standard really appealed to me, so I've been saving up gold for Core Set 2020 which looks amazing, but now I'm getting tempted to spend my 30k gold just to get enough wild cards to make this deck :D this looks like loads of fun

Yikes. But at least best of one will most likely be safe? I don't see people running that kind of hate mainboard. Although it's relevant that Karn can snag the Cage from the sideboard even in Bo1.

Awesome combo, gonna build sth similar right away. Pretty budget for Arena too, 2 colors and not many rares (mythics are not as valuable imo, and Bontu is a bomb in draft so I probably have a playset already). Reliquiary tower is actively bad in this deck because you want to discard to hand size. Not only do you get to recur all of the lands you drew in the next combo, but after turn 5-6, your dorks are more useful in the graveyard for undergrowth. In the third game you drew your entire deck, but your undergrowth was too low to kill him with the giant, which should not happen. What's the point of having 17 cards in hand if most of them are doing nothing? You don't have more than 7 cards you want to keep in any possible hand.

Yes, I agree sometimes you would rather discard cards to fuel Undergrowth, but there are definitely situations where you want more than 7 cards in very grindy control matchups. They could become Fields or Blast Zones.

You could have played a world shaper to counter opponents liliana ult. Then if he ults lili, you get your lands back immediately. Its still hopeful though as he might be able to remove the world shaper.

Well, he had a shaper in hand, he played it and sached it. If he didn’t keep digging for spark harvest, I think he was fine.

It is, although Vraska's Contempt or even Tyrant's Scorn could be found with Azcanta.

Draft some WAR, you're bound to pick up some copies. The god eternals are good in draft as well as constructed, unlike Tamiyo and Karn for example, so you don't have to sacrifice your win % by raredrafting.

@@omgopet I dont really draft, its too expensive and I suck at it. Wildcards are too valuable to spend on jank. Bontu's good but I dont have many wildcards. I'm starting to draft once per season to get the bronze pack though. Missing world shaper's too, thought it was a uncommon.

I wonder why after World Shaper attacked (9:00) and milled 2 cards, Multani was put into hand instead of graveyard as 3rd card to be milled. What mechanic allowed it to happen?

Seems like it would at least sometimes be better NOT to have the Reliquary Tower. Discard a bunch for all the grave payoff and just keep the bombs. I can see it both ways though.

doesn't having no max hand size actually hurt you? aren't lands and creatures in graveyard often better for this deck than in hand? you still get to keep 7, which should let you keep the ones you need in hand and then you can get bigger undergrowths as well as get more lands back with your combo...

actually not running the tower land might be better since it lets you discard excess lands and creatures from your hand that you can bring back with world shaper and add to lotleth undergrowth

Sometimes you would rather discard them. Blast Zone and Field of Ruin are options too.

Thanks for the reply man! Maybe you could give me some help.. Used to play magic competitively 2002-2006. A lot has changed from them in the game. I can’t seem to get enough of the cards in MTGA that I need to build competitive decks. Is it wise to purchase gems with $$ to buy packs and hopefully find cards I need? Drafting seems like a viable option too.
