I like your videos cause you don't feel the need to act like a clown and randomly shout out loud. It's more professional and I could definately see you being a commentator for big events. Arena is huge step for making mtg watchable as a sport. I quit back in the 90's but can follow it just fine.

This deck is awesome! I made it in arena yesterday, but I ran out of uncommon wildcards, so I only had 2 rams, 2 collossi, and no rhythm of the wilds. Instead, I added some shocks, a copy of one with the machine, and a few expansion//explosion to use until I get more wildcards. It was really fun, and still pretty effective despite the fact that I had only half the finishers! Thanks for making a video on it!

I instantly knew there was something going on for this deck when I cast gates ablaze on prerelease, yesterday I formed a list to play on the weekend, and also named it Gates hahah, you beat me to it. I guess at least I get to see if the deck is worth the wildcard commitment

What do you think about swapping something out for 2 Multani in the deck? It's also a recurring threat that gets bigger with more lands. It can also return your gates to hand to keep your draws going, and the reach could save you in some circumstances as well.

I was wanting to play guild collosus with sunbirds invocation. Triggers as an 8 all the time for free haha. Nice deck though similar to what I was thinking to build.

After a rocky start, I've had a lot of fun with the deck, thanks for your work :) It feels like running 1-2 Banefire would help finish games against fog and Vivien might be a better planeswalker to use, both for draw and removal. not sure I understand your reasoning for picking Ral.

I just want to say thanks for making a gate deck. I made one when the new set came out bc I loved the new gate cards and affects, but noone else seemed to play any and this deck was to far off from mine, but in opinion I prefer Niv-Mizzet, Parun over Ral bc of gate summit draw with it has been an effective win condition for me

This deck is sick. Gates Ablaze is what makes it possible, otherwise aggro could overrun this early. Gates Ablaze is also the best AOE in the game, Cry of the Carnarium only wipes 2-toughness dudes. The constant drawing from Guild Summit is very helpful in longer matchups.

Gates ablaze will never kill the ram if it hasnt taken damage that turn or lost toughness some other way

Gates Ablaze is such an excellent sweeper that I'm wanting to brew some control decks. The side board opportunities are tremendous and could have some viability in best of three play.

I've seen this deck run with this but having black in for exile effects like Vraskas. Only ran the gate ram and colossus. Made mincemeat out of my poor Merfolk :P

I play a gate deck but splash white for the angel that gains a ton of life. I feel it is better than Ral. But Lava Coil seems like a good add. Thanks.

Great vid as usual! What are your thoughts in including Blood Sun to make our gates come in untapped and shutting down Hadanas, Azcanta and Legions landing? Also thinking about Mass Manipulation for a flexible “removal” or “wrath” with all our mana. Flexible in the terms of either taking control of a big creature or a planeswalker?

There are already too many 3-drops so it is difficult to make room for Blood Sun. Some X spell like Banefire or Expansion could be good as a finisher, but we are drawing so many cards in the late game that it doesn't seem needed.

Hey, this is probably an awful place to reach you for a reply, but have you made many tweaks to this deck? And have you given any thought to a sideboard? My friend and I were playing against a creatureless control deck with Teferi and the Lava Coils and such were a no-go. I was thinking of adding some counters and maybe some shocks/banefire in the sideboard, along with cindervines. Would this be a good direction? Anything particularly good I'm not thinking of?

Hi there, loving this deck so far but i'm just stuck on one thing currently and that's the order triggers for Guild Gate and Colossus. For some reason in my games the order triggers menu thing does not come up and rather guild gates draw effect goes off before I can put colossus back on top of the library. Does anyone know why this might be? Thank you

What do you think of one or two Domri instead of Ral? Could give haste to the rams/colossus if you don't draw the rhythm of the wilds? Also can dig faster than Ral if you need one ASAP.

Legenvd, do you think Vivien or even Immortal Sun in replacement of Ral would be better? Viviens for the powerful enchantments like ixalans binding on your only 2 threats. Or Immortal Sun for all the planeswalkers.

I built this deck and the first deck I faced was mill. I think it's one of the few weaknesses of the Gates deck

Probably 2 Forests an Island and a Mountain. If you have any of the Shocklands those will also work. Deck could use a few more independent green sources to begin with.
