I believe the vintage equivalent for Yugioh would be the Traditional format. Not that anyone has ever played that, but in theory it exists.

Sixth Sense was printed in the OCG WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY back in their classic sets. It was banned when the first banlist was made. It existed on the banlist forever, and of course everyone assumed if it ever got printed in the TCG that it would be banned before printing; but apparently not. But the card existed in the OCG maybe an entire decade before it was printed in the TCG.

The way I understand the Sixth Sense situation is: It was a card in the anime and probably some of the video games. It was printed in the OCG and banned almost immediately. When printed into the TCG it was immediately put to 1 before its release and also banned shortly after, like in the OCG.

Gren Maju is a fun card in Nemleria since the deck wants to banish a shit ton of stuff face-down anyway. Also you get to play a creepy demon is a deck themed around sleep.

i feel like the whole literal handtrap part shouldve been prefaced by how they have exuberant cost or conditions like both imperm and evenly requiring you to control no cards and reboot costing half your lp including giving the opponent a free trap of their choice which can be your undoing if you cannot win the turn you use it since you're most likely using it against a trap heavy deck the majority of traps being played still requires setting them first and even imperm is still set for the column negate

If the monsters for huge revolution could be tutored by ties of the brethren that would be really fun for a gimmick. Turn 1 activate ties, summon the 3, then set something like trap trick to search the huge revolution

Bruhhhhh. The nostalgia when I saw Gren Maju Da Eiza. I pulled that when it cam out and thought it was the coolest shit ever.

Sixth Sense was released in the OCG back in 2003, and they never printed it in the TCG back then. It eventually got banned over there (though not in the first round of banning cards in 2004, surprisingly). Then they finally decided to print it in the TCG ten years after its OCG release. Of course, they didn't want to print a banned card, so they put it at 1 copy in the TCG (this was long after the TCG and OCG started using different lists, so it was still banned in Japan). Sixth Sense wasn't actually the only card to be released Limited in the TCG. Back when the TCG and OCG used essentially the same ban list, some cards would get hit before they got printed in the west. Elemental Hero Stratos was available from a pre release only like a week before it became Limited, so it was hit before the set officially released. Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness I think was a promo card in Japan, so it took longer to come out in the TCG. By the time it did come out, it was already Limited.

"Then whats the trap?" is how i sum up so many trap cards. If they dont directly counter stuff, theyre just slow spell cards.

Vintage is just traditional format. No one plays it, but it's a format. And fits the description

I think our friend didn't know how fast YuGiOh really is. Better banishers in YGO are so common, but most can't be used during your opponents turn one and that's when D D Crow shines.

11:00 Not quite. Shifter last TWO turns. The turn it is sent and the following turn. Meaning you would also get your stuff banish or your opponent would get their turn under that effect. But if your deck does not care about it (Exosisters) or even benefits a little bit from it (Floowandereeze), then it's pretty good. Very good video overall, though.

Funny part about the Watering everything down, that pretty much was Duel Monsters' original purpose, but like the readers of Yugioh loved the game so much, that it became like the main focus of the Manga, and then eventually Konami made Duel Monsters on the Gameboy which then eventually evolved into the Game we know today

The thing I like about no banlist format of Yugioh is that you can build a huge board even before you get your first turn, just like if you had Leyline of Anticipation + Black Lotus in your opening hand.

I don't know how hard it would be, but it could be fun trying to find a Yugioh player to rate Yugioh cards. I'm "fairly" new. I played duel links and masterduel on and off for years, but never completely seriously. I know all the big cards and some chokepoints in meta decks, but you still bust out cards I've never seen and I'm sitting here trying to evaluate if they're good or not based on my amateur knowledge of Yugioh. I think it would be cool to see someone that understand the game, but has limited experience/exposure try it rating cards if that's even possible.

Tbh, sixth sense probably could be unbanned. It's slow cause it's a trap, it can be horribly useless (mill 1,2) and games end really quickly.

You could easily win turn 3 with it: turn 2 Lightning Greaves, turn 3 30/30 trampler, attack for 30. Or if you're worried about removal, turn 4 cast 30/30 trampler, then with priority, cast Thud, sacrificing it to deal 30 damage to the opponent without giving them a chance to remove the creature unless they have a counterspell. And no, it's not going to die to everything. Good luck killing a 30 toughness creature with Lightning Bolt or Unholy Heat. It essentially has protection from red.

Sixth Sense ran amok in the OCG long before it's TCG release, and when we did finally get it, it was only legal for about 1 format. While I would say this card still can not come off the forbidden list, it would be almost too slow to matter outside of trap decks specifically, and is susceptible to Ash Blossom. It would ultimately have less impact than Maxx C coming back

Yugioh for the longest time only had 2 formats. Advanced Constructed (which is regular Yugioh) and Traditional Format (Which is literally magics Vintage Format.) Traditional Format Yugioh uses the regular Ban List, but any Banned cards are instead limited to 1. This has always been a thing.

Hot take: Sixth Sense is actually not broken in modern yugioh, its fine at best. The fact that its a trap, its not searchable and it only mills a few cards 66,7 % of the time makes it quite bad. even if you get the draws, you NEED to draw handtraps. otherwise you have no interaction anyway and get OTK'd. Im not saying it should come back, cause making the game more luck based is a very bad design choice, but it would be mid.

Shout out to Gren Maju's best friend, the Gizmek Orochi. Decent body that can block attacks, push for lethal, help make rank 8s and repeatedly summon itself on a quick effect, all with a banish 8 "cost". I win more games by blowing up their board and ending on a 4 mat Zeus, but its always fun when you just drop a normal summon and swing for lethal. Other cards that might be fun... Sekka's Light, Trickstar Reincarnation (I like using it in MD events just for fun), Flower Cardian Lightflare (has a lot of levels, stats, and text), Thunderdragon Colossus, Armed Samurai- Ben Kei, Chicken Game, Paleozoic Dinomischus (trap monsters in general are odd), Magical Sumo Dice Games (that is a bizarre and fairly unique mechanic), search at a cost cards like Painful Choice or Left Arm Offering.

The format that Nikachu is asking about is called Traditional, which uses the Standard ban list, but all cards that are forbidden, are limited instead and it's an insane format.

yes there is a format where sixth sense can be played. It's called Traditional. Nobody plays it given the number of FTKs, but it exists

But there is (or at least was, last time i played tournaments was in 2013) a format where everything on ban list moved one thing up, so for example you could play one victory dragon or if something was restricted to 2 you could play 3. It wasnt fun and only peps that had too many cards played it but it existed

Further context for Six Sense. On the OCG it was on the first banlist that put cards to 0, and is the ONLY card banned in that list that has never come back since. Imperial Order and CED technically never left either since they came back after they got nerfed into the ground with erratas (YES, the errata'd and re-banned Imperial Order is MUCH worse than the original, let THAT sink in), but if we ignore erratas, Sixth Sense is the oldest banned card in the OCG, and is almost certainly in it for life. On the TCG, it came, as mentioned at 1 on release, out 10 years later than the OCG, in the middle of one of the most powerful formats in Yugioh history. No card or deck in that time could come even CLOSE to how broken this card was in just about everything. It lasted less than 6 months before it went from 1 to 0.

Yugioh has an official format equivilant to Vintage, its called "Traditional". It has existed for a very very long time but noone remembers of acknowledges it. It was introduced originally in response to backlash towards the introduction of a banlist.

Recommendation for a card to throw at MTG players because it will confuse: Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell. It is deceptive in ways that will give MTG players fits.

@9:54 Actually Yugioh has multiple cards like *Leyline of the Void* , you forgot to mention *Imperial Iron Wall* for example, which says neither player can banish cards, and don't forget about *Chaos Hunter* , which says your opponent cannot banish cards. Also *Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer* says your opponent cannot banish cards from either graveyard. So I wouldn't say there aren't *any* Yugioh cards that stop you from banishing. Sorry *D.D. Crow* , they do exist *{::>_

The graveyard in yugioh is like your 2nd deck you setup during the game basically lol. 6th Sense is so busted.

Something I find interesting with the no banlist tournaments yugioh tournaments is that zoodiac is probably the best deck. While it is historically one of the best decks of all time it is a midrange deck so while you'd expect the best decks to all be combo decks the number of handtraps zoo is able to play is enough to stop them and then they win the game in the long run by making drident/zeus.

Sixth sense coming out pre-limited to 1 is way more sinister than it seems at first. It was released in the Japanese version over decade earlier and had been banned basically forever. It was just platamtly banworthy without even trying and was unreleased in the western game basically for this reason. Not only this, but at the time of it's release the top deck in yugioh was Dragon Rulers, one of the closest things yugioh has ever had to milling a card being as good as drawing a card. Literally the single worst format to introduce sixth sense they could have chosen. So why did they release it? Because the set it was released in "Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World" was a suuuuper low power reprint set full of 15 year old cards that were unplayable filler even when they were new. But you slap a limited to one Sixth sense in there and suddenly every meta player is forced to bolster the sales of the set to get the card. Then like 3ish months later when they had sold enough copies of Joye's world they banned it. Western release of Sixth sense is one of the most cynical business decicions by konami in the history of the game. It was an obviously broken auto-include stable in an obviously broken meta you needed to get from an obviously useless booster. Except Joey's World wasnt even a booster set, it was a 25$ box with 3 "boosters"
