Harriet the Spy brings back great memories. Just like you, my friend and I pretended to be spies after reading that book. 🕵We would go to all the shops in our village, eavesdrop on conversations, and scribble them into our spy notebooks. We also spied on our families and classmates. I still have all my spy notebooks! I enjoyed this this week's video very much, Lin. Thank you.

They really are hilarious. So much so that my notebooks were confiscated and passages were read aloud by the principal on graduation day from elementary school. In front of the entire school and their parents!@@booktalkingwithlibrarylin1924

I applied to job as English teacher for toddlers and preschoolers at kindergartens but unfortunately no job vacancies. I remember story I was aged 12 years old plot summary set during civil war and tells story of March family , principally four girls meg , jo , Beth , Amy . The girls struggle and grow as family while their family while their father is serving in war and learn value of hard , self - sacrifice and love . I still remember girls and their mother helped their poor neighbor women and her kids . Man who is their neighbor gave them piano as gift and one of sisters looks like his late daughter. This novel published in two volumes in ( 1868- 1869 ) . Have several adaptation in stage in 1912 star of Katherine Cornell . Several movies too slient films 1917 and second one 1918 and first sound film 1949 . Film 1994 . In 2017 contemporary film adaptation 150 anniversary of novel . Believe it or not, I’ve never read “Anne of Green Gables.” Yet I’m a Canadian. That’s like not being able to ice skate if you’re Canadian! (I’m not so good at that, either.) I also haven’t read “Little Women” although I watched the 1933 film version starring Katharine Hepburn.
