Nice collection of Christmas books! We have a different beautiful version of Good King Wenceslas. Our "kids" are now 25 and 29, but we still have a big stack of holiday books we used to read with them every year. And we used to listen to a different audio version of A Christmas Carol with them every year on our way home from visiting family for Thanksgiving. Great books - thanks for sharing!

I don't think I have any Christmas books except for the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens!

I enjoy Nigel Slater the Christmas Chronicles and Jeanette Winterson's Christmas Days: 12 Stories, 12 Feasts for 12 Days

It looks like Virginia and I are both on the same wavelength with Slater's book.😊

I enjoyed seeing your choices and can imagine curling up with "A Medieval Christmas" because I enjoy learning about the history of various traditions.🎄 I think I've mentioned before that one of my favourite winter reads this year was “The Christmas Chronicles: Notes, stories and 100 essential recipes for midwinter” by British author Nigel Slater. I listened to it as an audiobook and I know I'll be tempted to return to it in the future. And if you're in the mood for fiction, you can't go wrong with Rosamunde Pilcher's "Winter Solstice" about a Christmas in Scotland. It's quite a long book yet I didn't want it to end!

Thank you, MJ! I adore Rosamund Pilcher! I haven't read Winter Solstice, but I will definitely find a copy to read in the future. You recommended another book for winter a while back, and I have it saved on my TBR list, Wintering by Katherine May. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

I hope you enjoy "Wintering" when you get around to it. As for "Winter Solstice," I wanted to climb into the book with the characters.😊 @@booktalkingwithlibrarylin1924

I chose one of books you mentioned main theme and author biography briefly here it’s jolly Christmas postman plot summary is amusing tale that follows journey of postman doing rounds on his bicycle on Christmas Eva . On his back he carries sack bursting full of letters, cards , presents that he delivers to all sorts of well loved characters from different traditional tales and nursery rhymes. Janet Ahlberg ( 1944- 1994) and Allen ( born in 1938) . They were British married couples who created many children books , including picture books that regularly appear at top of most popular list of public libraries they worked together for20 years until Janet died from cancer . He wrote books and she illustrated them . Allen has also written dozens of books with other illustrators .

Merry Christmas happy new year mrs Linda . Actually as I told you before iam Arabic musilm lady but we considered Mary mother of Jesus is very holy , Prophet Muhammad and holy quarn mentioned she is lady of world women, no woman mentioned in Quran by name except her. Prophet Muhammad said Jesus will come from heaven to earth before day of judgment as just ruler. We have very different story of birth of Jesus in Quran we considered him as spirit of god . She gave birth alone under palm tree and it’s was fruitless tree and when she was in labor god made stream around her , said don’t be sad or afraid god made stream under you , shake truck of palm tree will drop dates eat , drink anyone who talk to you , say Iam fasting from talking . When Mary came to her people accused her of adultery, she was carrying baby Jesus and pointed to him . They said how we can talk to baby in cradle. Baby Jesus said Iam slave of god , gave me book , made me prophet, be kind to my mother , ordered me to pray and fast not be tyrant . God bless upon me day I was born , day I was died , day I will raise up . As I read there are Christmas trace in First World War 1914 unofficial ceasefire, when both sides put down their weapons and played football together. Christmas is symbolizes peace and love among mankind. German and their allied suggested Christmas trace firstly. Put down their weapons to exchange greetings, similar events occurred on Christmas Day 1915 . Many happy returns. Good luck to you your loved ones.

Hello, Dear Khatoon! Thank you so much for sharing the Muslim story of Jesus and his birth from your religious tradition! I had not heard that story before. I had heard of the story of the Christmas truce in the First World War, but I did not know the German side suggested it. I very much appreciate, as always, your watching my videos and sharing your research with me. May you and your loved ones have a Happy New Year!
