I thoroughly enjoyed this video! _Silver, Sword, and Stone_ is at the top of my TBR as is _Southern Folk Medicine_ . I am a child of Appalachia.

I hope you enjoy them both! They are quite different reading experiences. If you're from Appalachia you may be familiar with some of Light's methods. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for helping me load up my TBR with some wonderful nonfiction. I've added Fox & I, The Book of Eels, River Town, The Emotional Craft of Fiction, and Agent Sonya...I read Lab Girl several years ago and loved it, too. Wishing you and your channel all the best in 2024!

So much nonfiction! So many subjects! I love it! I've heard good things about Silver, Sword, and Stone and River Town before. I read another book by Ben Macintyre earlier this year (The Spy and the Traitor) but am planning on getting to Agent Sonya soon! Happy holidays!

Most of the books I read I read on Kindle. The books are mostly downloaded from Project Gutenberg...so they are old but redeem themselves by being free. Also they are classics and have stood the test etc...One I liked especially is Clayhanger by Arnold Bennett.

I think that's a wonderful way to find books! There is also an app (maybe exLibris?) where you can listen to classic, public domain works for free. I had never heard of Clayhanger before. Thanks so much :D

It's not surprising at all, though I'd not heard of it, that your grandparents took out burns using Bible verses. It's marvelous, their faith. I've been a metropolitan person all my life and I prefer to anywhere else, but as a Christian, it makes total sense. I enjoyed your 1st video I've seen. Time to get reading now! I hope to view many more. The Fox and I was a gift I gave my brother.

How are you doing mrs Linda . Happy new year merry Christmas. Thank you for your wonderful cultural channel. It’s great ideas to make schedule of our reading books , in my opinion we must keep notebooks to write main tips and important information of each book we finished reading to make use of it . I chose one of books you mentioned main theme and author biography briefly here it’s lab girl plot summary I thought science fiction about her award wining bestselling Memoir , tells story or young woman who find friendships in odd places, battles, bipolar disorder, perseveres through setbacks and relishes hard earned triumphs, became respected scientists and passionate observer of natural world .hope Jahren ( born in 1969) she is American geochemist, geoblogist at university of Oslo in Norway, known for her work using stable isotope analysis to analyze fossils for rested dating to Eocene. She won prestigious awards in field including James b. Macelwane medal of American geophysical union .i read about new year in USA you have national holiday and ball drop in time squeeze dating from early 1900s but wasn’t until 1907 that crystal ball made its deput and fire works around world celebrations of new year . There are food bring luck of new year such as orange and pomegranate , black eyed peas for s for southern superstition.you avoid to eat turkey on new year because they scratch feet backwards. Good luck to you your dearest ones .

Hello Khatoon! It's so nice to hear from you today! I live in the Southern U.S., so my family always ate black-eyed peas on New Year's. I haven't kept up that tradition, but since I like black-eyed peas, I'm not sure why I haven't! Thank you for sharing your research with me. I wish you and your family all the best this year.
